Biography
The Birch family is a wealthy English family. Their house seat is currently located in Wales. The home originally belonged to the Mortenmar family line, but since Elzabeth is the last of the Mortenmar line, the home became the family seat for the Birch family line when Arthur Sylvestor Birch married Elzabeth Mortenmar.
Together, Arthur and Elzabeth welcomed a son; Arthur Sylvestor Birch II. Arthur Sylvestor Birch, Sr. also fathered two more sons; Sylvestor Birch and Theodore Birch; when he cheated on Elzabeth with another woman. The other woman died, and Elzabeth agreed to raise Arthur, Srâs two other children as her own; under the understanding that the family inheritance (specifically from the Mortenmar line) could never go to the younger sons, Sylvetor and Theodore.
When the children got older, Arthur Birth II fathered a child with Anne OâMurray, the daughter of a muggleborn. When Arthur wouldnât marry her, Anne seduced his brother Sylvestor and married him.
Theodore wasnât like his brothers. Fathering a child with a daughter of a muggleborn was bad enough, but marrying a muggleborn, how absurd! Blood purity was important, and the Birch family line couldnât be tainted by those who were unpure. That was why he marrying Claudia; she was a pureblood.
There was only one problem. Regardless of the fact that he didnât tarnish the family name, he still couldnât become the heir of the family inheritance. That was reserved for Arthur II. When he passed away, his daughter, Elizabeth, became the heir.
But that wasnât fair; she wasnât a pureblood! How dare the family allow this to happen! The day his half-brother died and a half-blood became the heir to the family inheritance was the day that something snapped inside of Theodore making him certifiably insane.
One thing was for sure though; his children with Claudia would be brought up the right way. They would be brought up knowing that blood purity was more important than anything else in the wizarding world. He swore to his children that if they ever even thought of ruining his stem of the family line with anyone who was less than pure, they would be wipe off the family tree forever. In all his craziness, the kids werenât sure if he would do that by disowning them, or something worse; though they were sure that he wouldnât really do anything to harm them.
That was why Alexander Birch married Seren Prothero. She had gone to Hogwarts with him where they were both students of the Slytherin house. The Protheroâs were a well-known pureblood family in the wizarding world. Alexander looked up to his father, which is why he became a member of the Order and an Auror for the Ministry of Magic after his Hogwarts graduation in 1961. Seren is also a member of the Order and also works for the Ministry as an Obliviator.
On 1961, Alexander and Seren welcomed their first child; a son they named Theodore Vincent Birch.
On August 5, 1966, they welcomed their second and last child, Emma Grace Birch.
Emmaâs youngest memory is attending the funeral of her grandfather, Theodore. At such a young age, Emma could not comprehend what was going on, she just knew that her daddy was very, very sad.
That day, Alexander made a vow to his father that his children would be raised the same way that he was raised. Vincent and Emma would be raised believing strongly in the notion of blood purity and believing that pureblood wizards were superior to all others.
