Biography
Chartreuse Greene was born to a pirate, Truman Greene. Well, he wasn't really a pirate. He just happened to be a writer, which she misunderstood to be a raider. Her mother Sharry died less than a year after Chartreuse was born. Chartreuse never knew what life with a mother was like, but she drifted away into her imagination more often than not to escape reality.
Her grandmother on her mother's side, Sharry, and her grandfather on her father's side, Manifred, made sure to point out all of her flaws. No one in the Greene family was particularly attractive, but some had skills that were notable, at least. Chartreuse wasn't special. She wasn't an orphan. She wasn't a nanny, far as you know. She was ordinary and gross. She wasn't much to look at, either, especially after a chewing gum incident that caused her to cut off almost all of her hair.
Her fingers were usually dirty. Chartreuse wasn't playing out in the mud. She just didn't wash well. She thought it was because her father lived the life of a pirate. In all reality, her father tried to keep her clean and well-fed, but Chartreuse was stubborn and angry about not being a pirate.
Chartreuse knew her parents were wizards, but she had much preferred to follow her father's footsteps and become a full fledged raider. That would be the life for her. Sad days were ahead for this unkempt child. An owl delivered the news, and Chartreuse was packed up and wallabied off.
During her early years at Hogwarts, she excelled in her Care of Magical Creatures studies. Her bulky frame led her to try out for the Quidditch team, her fourth year. Little did she know, she would become a beater to be reckoned with. While she didn't have the strongest arm, she did have the loudest cheer, at least in her mind. She found her most competitive nature came out in Dueling Tournaments. She has never won a tournament, yet, but she has tried to help her Hufflepuff comrades make it on. Some might say she takes after her father when they read her Spellbound articles. Some might not.
As a prefect and Hufflepuff Quidditch captain, she has felt recognized by the professors at Hogwarts. When she wrote home to her family, they seemed to be under the impression that everyone felt bad for her and gave her such positions out of pity. Chartreuse might one day open a jar up by herself.
Education
First-Third Years
Due to Chartreuse's profound dependency on loyalty from her family after her mother's early death, she was quickly sorted into Hufflepuff. The Sorting Hat barely touched her and knew where this eccentric girl belonged. She stayed under the radar during her first three terms at Hogwarts. Choosing to play outside by herself in her world of being a pirate, over studying or making friends. In her studies, she focused primarily on Divination, partially due to her fantasy of speaking with the dead. She hoped to be able to hear from her mother, but her dreams quickly faded after her professors informed her that she had misunderstood the power of Divination.
Fourth Year (1941-1942)
Her fourth year marked the first time Chartreuse put an effort into socializing. She became popular rather quickly amongst her Hufflepuff housemates. Once they were able to see how dependable she was and that she was quite fun to be around, they took to her like a dog to its vomit. She spent the year working hard at Quidditch, Dueling, "Spellbound", and her regular classload. When she tried out for the Quidditch team, she was not expecting much. However, she was put in the position of beater. She blew away her captains with her power, helping them win the Quidditch Cup. Jackson Ross also asked her to help him with commentary during one of the Quidditch games. Sadly, he did not invite her back. In the Dueling Tournament, she failed to make it to the finals after Emma Grace Birch "accidentally" attacked her with four powerful spells in a row.
Adding salt to the wound, Emma Grace didn't even compete in the finals. She asked to withdraw herself from the competition. Chartreuse would never get revenge on her.
She was selected for the Prefect Pick, but no one can remember what the reasoning was behind this.

As a prefect, she tried to keep her Hufflepuffs in line. She did not want them to disappoint their professors or cause their house to lose points. One of her most intriguing incidents happened when she was patrolling and found Joy Detora out alone. Her mother was dying, and Chartreuse was there to try and comfort her. One of the first instances between the two girls that bonded them closer.

Her sixth year at Hogwarts marked her first time as Quidditch Captain. During their first game, they faced the Ravenclaws. Chartreuse was so nervous during the entire game that she kept subbing in and out people almost constantly. After a while, she had no idea who was even supposed to be on the pitch. Sadly, due to her poor leadership, they lost the first game. However, they came back the next match and destroyed Slytherin. This led to a potential three-way tie. If Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff won their final games, they'd be tied with Gryffindor with a 2-1 record. Chartreuse had never heard of that happening before.
Jackson Ross talked her into joining the Dueling Club, which helped her make it to the finals in the superhero themed Dueling Tournament. She stupidly focused on Calypso Galanis during the finals, rather than the younger Frances Severin.

She often speaks before she thinks, which irritates quite a few Slytherin and Ravenclaw folks. Once you've crossed the line and made her angry, it can be hard for her to let go of that grudge. She is strong, forceful and likes to win.
She is attracted to boys, but she doesn't care to pursue anyone. She has never been pursued by one, either. She almost snogged a boy at home once, but she punched him in the face and ran away.
Patronus
Chartreuse's patronus takes the form of a parrot.
Appearance
Face Claim: Lauren SochaChartreuse Greene is 5'5" which is close to average for women. She has always been a sturdy and thick lass. She was never petite or pretty. Her facial features are much like her personality, harsh. Her hair is a dark brown with hints of red. She will wear makeup, but often just black around her eyes. If she has long hair, she prefers for it to be pulled back in a ponytail.
As far as clothing goes, Chartreuse favors baggy robes and cloaks with her big boots. If she could dress like a pirate every day, she would. She often wears an eye patch, even though both of her eyes are functional. The only times she removes the eye patch are when she's instructed to by professors or if she is angry on the Quidditch pitch or Dueling block.
She rarely wears clothing that shows her curves, due to being insecure of her body. She loves layers and sweaters, especially in the winter.
Her Parrot
At the start of her fourth year, she decided to bring her pet parrot with her to school. He is an African Grey Parrot. So far, Chartreuse has taught him how to say ahoy, the names of her dorm mates, when he is hungry or thirsty, and a few lines of some old sea chanties. She has also taught him the phrases: "Come closer, my dear," "Here kitty, kitty," and "Bow before me."Her parrot has gone by many nicknames, but she finally settled on naming him Blackbeard. He responds to most things, much to the annoyance of some of her dorm mates. If let out of his cage, Blackbeard may fly around the castle or go outside, but he does not stray for long. He was attacked by a hawk during Chartreuse's ninth birthday party when he had gotten loose. Since then, he keeps a wary eye toward the sky.
His diet consists mostly of carrots, cucumbers, other select vegetables, and some grains.
