Summer Workshop Prompt #1
Campfire Stories

There was no better entertainment in the old west than to sit by the fire and spin a tale for everyone to hear. This prompt brings your character to the campfire and the front of the stage.

Your Task

Write a folk tale! You might want to have your character be sitting by the fire and narrating to an audience, or you might want to reimagine an event in your character's life in the exaggerated style of a folk tale. As long as a story is being told in some way or another, you can choose what you want to write and how you want to write it. The piece can be written in our current timeline or any AU, and there are no rules, so take it in whichever direction you choose!

Please bear in mind that the site rules and rating still apply.

How do I start?
three simple steps

1. Start a new thread in the Summer Workshop forum. It should be called
Prompt 1: Title of Your Piece
2. Write your piece, following the prompt above.
3. Review the pieces of others (see How To Workshop).

All credit to LYSANDER STONE for this prompt idea!
I’ve got sunshine on a cloudy day
when it’s cold outside I’ve got the month of may
I’ve got so much honey the bees envy me
I’ve got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees
