Subscription How-To

Subscriptions at Hogwarts-School.Net

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Hogwarts School community by becoming a paid subscriber! Please read through the following how-to's to ensure your account is properly activated.

→ Buying Your First Subscription

  • When you arrive at the account upgrade page, select the type of account you wish to purchase and click the "order" button beneath its description.
  • On the next page, there will be a check box where you may choose to make your paid subscription renew itself upon termination (recurring payment). If this option is selected, your paypal account will be automatically deducted when your subscription is due to expire. Currently, we are only able to accept payment through Paypal. When ready, click "order with paypal" and you will be taken to the Paypal website to complete the transaction.
  • If you do not have a Paypal account, Paypal will allow you to pay with a credit or debit card. Once you have completed the transaction, go back to any board in the Hogwarts School family and use the Helpdesk feature to open a new help ticket.
  • In the ticket's subject, type "New Subscription". Mark the ticket's category as "Subscriptions."
  • In the body of the ticket, we need the following information to match your request to the Paypal records:
    • The first name on your Paypal account or credit card
    • The date of the transaction
    • Your subscription level (Knut, Sickle, Galleon, or Platinum)
    If you would like your information to only be viewable by administrators (not moderators), please put a request in the ticket's body for it to be made private.
  • An administrator will activate your subscription and notify you via your Helpdesk ticket. At this point, you may begin adding additional character accounts!


→ Upgrading an Existing Subscription

Unfortunately, there is no automatic way of upgrading an existing subscription to a higher level. Don't worry though - it can still be done!

  • Go straight to Paypal and login to the account you wish to use to pay for your upgrade.
  • From the tabs at the top, select "Send Money" just to the right of "My Account."
  • In the "To" field, type subscriptions@hogwarts-school.net.
  • The "Amount" field will be the difference between the price of your current subscription and the subscription which you plan to upgrade to. For instance, if you are upgrading from Sickle to Galleon, the amount would be 5.00 USD. Galleon to Platinum would be 10.00 USD, and Sickle to Platinum would be 15.00 USD.
  • Ensure that the "Purchase" tab is selected, and select the "Services" option. Click "Continue."
  • After submitting and confirming the transaction, return to any board in the Hogwarts School family and use the Helpdesk feature to open a new help ticket.
  • In the ticket's subject, type "Subscription Upgrade". Mark the ticket's category as "Subscriptions."
  • In the body of the ticket, we need the following information to match your request to the paypal records:
    • The first name on your Paypal account or credit card
    • The date of the transaction
    • Your current subscription level and the subscription level you are upgrading to (Sickle, Galleon, or Platinum)
    If you would like your information to only be viewable by administrators (not moderators), please put a request in the ticket's body for it to be made private.
  • An administrator will switch your subscription and notify you via your helpdesk ticket. At this point, you may begin adding additional character accounts!
