His own nose crinkled at the sound of his father's name on her lips. Not what a teenage boy wanted to hear when his fingertips were trailing over the satiny skin of a girl's thigh. Unfortunately,
Ares was teaching her about constellations and Orion was one of the most recognised.
There was one way to fix this. He scooted closer to her after she wrapped the blanket around her shoulders and spread his long legs out on either side of her. His chin rested on her shoulder, watching the delicate fingers form not-so-delicate letters on the parchment. As she concentrated on the last couple of names, his fingers traced a path from the middle of the outside of her thigh to just inside her knee. There he lightly formed a capital
A with his first finger. Next came the
r and before he could get to the
e and not an
i, Aurora called him out.
Ares flashed what he called his Aurora smile (the brighter one that only she pulled out of him) and leaned closer, dragging his nose through her hair before his lips stopped close to her ear. "You're spelling my name wrong." His hand reached around to grasp hers and he guided her through the
correct spelling of Ares. At least in his mind.
Their combined writing was still a bit messy but he turned his gaze back to her without correcting or commenting on anything. "Besides, I could still hear Dad's name on your lips. I needed to hear you say mine."
His eyes dropped to her full lips.
