Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Mathilda Eileen Elizabeth Mountbatten

Birthday: 1st of December 1936/1937

Hometown: Edinburgh, Scotland

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength: Charms

Magical Weakness: Divination

Year: Six / Five

Biography:
Mathilda Eileen Elizabeth Mountbatten was born on 1st of December to her parents William and Eglantine (née Wildingham). Mathilda is the youngest of triplets and she has two brothers; Malcolm and Matthew. The Mountbattens live in a wealthy neighborhood just outside Edinburgh - however, due to William's career as a professional Quidditch player, the family has travelled a lot around the UK as well as Europe. William has only recently retired from his broom after notrable years of representing the Scotland's National Team as a keeper.

Mathilda grew up with his two brothers - and the triplets surely kept their young parents busy. As William and Eglantine both are both members of well-known conservative pure-blood families, the triplets were raised to look down over Muggleborns - those, who do not represent old and traditional pure-blood values, to be exact. William and Eglantine among were demanding parents and the triplets were taught good and proper manners at a very early age. The children also went to home school before attending Hogwarts, and during these years they learned different languages - French and Latin - history and literature.

The triplets hopped on their toy broomsticks as soon as they learned to walk, and from that day on, the siblings have not let the game go. There is a small Quidditch field in the backyard of the Mountbattens manor - hidden from Muggles - so that the triplets can train their skills whenever they are home. Quidditch has always been in first place in their life, which tends to worry their Mother quite a bit - Eglantine would like her children to success at school and not only focus on flying on their broomsticks. Eglantine is very demanding especially what comes to her only daughter, and if it indeed was up to her, Mathilda would graduate with top grades and bring glory to her family by marrying a wealthy and successful pure-blood wizard.

On their 11th birthday the triplets got their very well-waited letters from Hogwarts - school, from which their parents had graduated as well. The triplets were sorted to  --, and from the first day of school Mathilda alongside with her brothers have been ready to develop their magical skills while wrapping the school around their little fingers.

[History will be edited once the character has been sorted into her House, as this will have quite a lot to do with the time Mathilda has spent at Hogwarts.]

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request: Slytherin

Personality:
Above all, Mahthilda can be described as a sharp-tongued, temperamental and strong person. She generally seems to be very arrogant and cold-blooded, however mostly due to her unwavering self-confident and her way of not hesitating to show it off in front of everyone. She's not afraid of being the focus of attention - actually, she tends to enjoy it. Mathilda has her ways of making sure that nothing or no one comes between her and her own goals, and since her early childhood - and due to being her father's little princess - she refuses to get a "no" as an answer. She is willing to do nearly anything to get what she wants and therefore she often ruthlessly runs for her own benefit. However, as being born to a conservative and well-known pure-blood family, Mathilda has learned good manners. Therefore it is easy for her to give a good impression of herself to important people - but also to get out of difficult situations and trouble.

Mathilda was born to be a leader. Whether it is a bunch of friends or a group work in Potions class, Mathilda is without an exception the one who gives the orders. However, this position suits her very well due to her natural skills to take over situations and people. This feature sometimes - often - causes irritation and grumbling among others but when they get to know her better, they surely will figure out that she has not earned her peers' trust for nothing. Mathilda indeed is a loyal friend, but her trust needs to be earned - in addition to her brothers, there are only few of those who she could trust her deepest secrets with. Ingrid needs people around her and she does not enjoy spending time alone as having grown up with two brothers, she's got used to always having someone around. She has a large group of friends - as well as a large group of individuals who she stays in good relations with only because of their potential usefulness.

Appearance:
When Mathilda enters the room she turns heads. The girl has inherited her beautiful oval-faced face lineaments from her mother, as well as her long curved, lashes and dark brown eyes. The eyes are framed by thick and dark eyebrows, one of which has a small and usually quite unnoticeable scar as a result of an incident during a Quidditch game. The nose is straightforward. Her dark and extremely thick hair easily reaches her waist, however, it is quite difficult to handle. Usually Mathilda lets her locks settle for themselves - sometimes the hair is tied in a high messy bun or ponytail.

Mathilda has been blessed with a length of 5'6''. Due to regular Quidditch training, she's in a good physical condition. The skin is fair and tends to easily get sunburnt during summers - if it so happens that the sun appears in the rainy Scottish summers. In the summer, freckles will appear on her nose and cheekbones, often lasting through winter and then disappearing before the spring ends.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.

Option I:

The day had been extremely tiring - studying and preparing for O.W.L exams had been even more time-consuming and challenging than all the professors had warned. The remaining classes before the actual exams were intensive and the pile of homework nearly reached the common room ceiling already. According to the professors, students did not have time to any other activities while they were preparing for the most important examination of their school career, however, Mathilda did couldn't stop herself from taking the time off from her homework and head to the Quidditch pitch in the early evening.

Quidditch was an excellent way to let out all the stress and frustrated emotions that had persistently followed Mathilda for the past weeks. Now wonder why, after a long hour, she was already able to smile and laugh a little as she left the pitch alongside her brothers only a short moment before dinner. When everyone else made their way to the Great Hall, Mathilda headed to the dungeons as she wanted to read through a couple of articles before leaving for the Astronomy class. Brown hair, dark as night, was bouncing softly in the air in pace of her steps as Mathilda made her way down to the dungeons, carrying her broomstick on her shoulder.

The dark stone dungeons wouldn't feel warmly welcoming to anyone else but a Slytherin. That being said, Mathilda was extremely surprised as she found a lonely young Gryffindor wandering around the unoccupied corridors.

"Indeed I am!" she shouted out loud from some feet away as she approached the little girl behind her back. It clearly made the girl lose her mind as she turned around - ready to run for her life - and run straight into the Slytherin. Losing her balance, the girl fell on her backside on the stone wall. A short laugh escaped from Mathilda's lips as she looked down at the girl.

"What do you think you are doing here?" The tone of her voice was slightly annoyed as she spoke, yet still she couldn't hide he hint of surprise in it. She raised an inquisitive eyebrow, waiting for her to answer. The girl looked absolutely horrified as she struggled to get back on her feet.

"I-I-I'm just here to, to..." The girl clearly lost her thought in the dusk of the dungeons. Mathilda glanced at her and tilted her head slightly.

"I believe this is not a place for a little Gryffindor cub. Off you go," she shooed, not needing to ask twice as the girl started running away to the Entrance Hall. Mathilda shortly watched her distancing back, shaking her head a few times, and then continued on heading back to the common room and stacks of awaiting homework.

Hi Mathilda!

Your application is coming along great and I enjoyed reading it. However there is a problem with your response to the sample RP. While this isn't a real thread, we'd like for you to reply as though it is and pretend that Evangeline will respond back. In your response, you are controlling the other girl's actions, which is powerplaying. Make sure that you only control what Mathilda does and thinks. (If you need some examples of this, check out our Sample Applications.)

Once you've made those changes, please post your entire revised application below and we'll be happy to take another look!

Thank you for the information. I indeed thought that as she is an NPC it was allowed to take some control over her. My bad!
