Biography: (100 words minimum.)

Dolores Crumb was born on the 1st day of the 1st month 1950 with a full head of black hair. Her mother Eglantine (hair – blonde) nearly cried from relief (though said nothing) and her father (hair – carrot) was secretly saddened (but remained silent none-the-less). It was a surprise then that at three months it all fell out leaving baby Dolores bald. Eglantine prayed, but it was not to be, for what grew back was the exact shade of vegetable her father had suffered from his whole life.

Regardless, Dolores was doted on by her parents – not to mention an extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Indeed, despite her permanent status as an only child (for Eglantine swore “to never do that [pregnancy] again”) Dolores was surrounded by people. As the daughter of two magipologists she was often left in the care of relatives, her mother and father leaving England’s rainy shores to pursue their studies of witches, wizards and other magical societies around the globe.

Alas, tragedy struck at age 7 when Eglantine was violently crushed to death by the buttocks of an elephant who was asked to sit at an inappropriate time. The bizarre nature of his wife’s death surely added no benefit to the already eccentric mind of Sophocles Crumb, who swore after he would never let his young daughter out from his sight.

Luckily for Dolores, Sophocles suffered also from very poor vision. While she became her father’s constant companion on his global adventures Dolores was also, to a degree, left to her own devices. The father and daughter still return to England between their various trips, visiting family and the like. Dolores can often be found in the shops of Diagon Alley, passing time until their next trip.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:

Dolores had not intended to accompany her father to the West Country. Rather, a day had been planned with ‘the cousins’ and she had been very much looking forward to it. Unfortunately, Cousin Roland had acquired some sort of infectious organism just before returning home for school break. As a consequence the whole family had come down with explosive diarrhea.

The play date was inevitably cancelled.

As a result, Dolores instead found herself biding time in Godric Park. What business her father had in these parts she did not know, nor did she bother to ask. It only concerned her that the weather was pleasant enough to escape the confines of his company. Dolores was accustomed enough to amusing herself. The park and its athletic inhabitants was a natural drawcard and Dolores had been watching them for the some time.

“You!”

Dolores blinked, pale blonde lashes barely perceptible.

“…Do you want to play?”

The girl was tiny. Younger than herself. The toy broomstick in her hand said that alone.

“I don’t ride broomsticks.” She replied unequivocally and it was true. Quidditch was not a global tradition, as much as some might think it was.

“But I can watch, if you like.”
