Biography:
Nicor Zellorius Crowley knew to value responsibility and honor from an early age. Graduating from Durmstrang Institute in Russia with top grades, the young man continued to pursue his studies – focusing mainly on finances and economics. Coming from a wealthy family it was key to preserve the knowledge and interest. His marriage was well planned out in the House and as soon as she became of age, Lilith Cheran Rimmon became his wife.

As Nicor was in line to be family head, he and Lilith understood their responsibility to bring another heir into the Crowley line. On Halloween, 1909, Geryon was born. They duty was fulfilled. They had delivered a boy. A heir.

The Ministry of Magic was Nicor’s place of work for most of his career. He served in both the Department of International Magical Cooperation and the Department of Magical Transportation during his employment. This, combined with strong family relations in the upper socialites, made Nicor Crowley a well-known and respected man in the Wizarding community.

Nicor resigned from the Ministry as the family business – Crowley Industries, known for their cigars – started expanding and taking over a lot more of his time. With the passing of his father, Nicor also stepped up as the new Head of family. A title meant to be passed on to his son when the time came. ..But young Geryon was a cause of worry.

The boy had been sorted well into Slytherin at Hogwarts. Passing his classes and seemingly doing well with his subjects. Still, there was no way around it – the child was odd. Eccentric. He had his head in the clouds somewhere and showed nowhere near the understanding of duty and honor his father had known at the same age. And this fascination for animals.. It was not ideal. Not for an heir.

Geryon decided to travel. Pursue his Magizoology studies – despite the disapproval from his parents. Already then the boy began getting in trouble with the law. Crossing boarders where he was not allowed, dealing with forbidden animals and creatures, indulging in shady deals and business… The list was long. Nicor had no choice but to use his contacts in the Ministry and the influence he had gathered to bail his son out of trouble. Again and again and again…

One day the young man decided to open a pet shop in Knockturn Alley. The name “Crowley’s Creatures” was written on the sign. But from there the trouble just escalated. It became a den for even more shady business and illegal deals. After spending a fortune of fines on the boy’s stupid games, Nicor made it clear that the family name was not to be associated with this kind of filth. It became a rough confrontation between father and son, ending with the heir sticking to the name he had already been given by others years ago – Crow.

Geryon was not banished. Lilith would still invite him to every family gathering, and Nicor could not give up hope that one day his only child and heir would step up to the task, and become a true Crowley. Fines and minor offences the son would have to deal with on his own from now, but if there were ever serious charges to be pressed, old Nicor would still show up to save whatever was left of his boy.

Roleplay:
Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Nicor was wandering through the snowy streets of Diagon Alley after finishing a meeting at the bank. Business had to be done – even in winter. For his old age, the man was moving rather quickly down the busy streets, crowding with people rushing in every direction. This had only been the first appointment for the day and there was no time to waste on strolling about.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!"

This was the last thing Nicor heard, before suddenly feeling a thump in the back, a rain of something hit him – and it was not the snow. The man had stopped. With a frown on his face he realized his black coat shoulders were now covered in glittery tinsel.

"For Merlin's sake!"

Turning around it became apparent that the man had simply fallen over and was – just as Nicor – now covered in the decorations of festivity.

"I am so sorry! This blasted snow!"

Brushing off some tinsel of his shoulder, Nicor let out a little snigger before reaching for his wand. “Not to worry, my good man,” he said, flicking his wand, proceeding to remove some more glitter.  “This weather can prove malicious at times.”
