Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Fay was not breathing when she was born, Healers struggled to bring the child into the world but eventually succeeded. This event in her life has caused her to become cut off from the spiritual side of the world, her death and revival as a child permanently hindered her Divination ability and left her unable to access that part of her magical heritage.

She lived in France throughout her entire childhood, the Vanhelm family was a very caring and compassionate Pureblood family and she was raised to be polite and caring to anyone – no matter what their blood status or position in life was, respect and kindness must be mutual at all times.

Her family allowed her to attend a muggle school until the age of 11 when she was sent to Beauxbatons Academy. She was an especially bright student in Transfiguration and excelled, with honours, in the subject. All throughout her time at the school she was still completely cut off from Divination and it did play an effect on her grades, although no-one was ever completely sure as to why her body was cut off from the magical sense.

Despite her flaws with Divination, she managed to exceed expectations and eventually graduate from the Academy early – at the age of 16. Her speciality was studio art and she immediately enrolled in the French Ministry, training to become an Auror.

Her hopes and dreams of becoming an Auror fell short when her lack of Divination was brought up. Through tears and distress, she moved from Paris to London. Her English was rusty, but she has now spent the past 5 years in England and has managed to almost perfect the language, although her accent is still very obviously French sounding.

Contessa Hall was her newest child, with her failures in the dating world it appears it will be her first and only child.

Fay herself has no strong opinions on The Order or the politics of The Ministry of Magic, although she is still desiring the position of Auror she knows that she will never be able to become one with her magical disability.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

It was impossible for Dianne to stay out of trouble. It wasn't that she was looking for trouble, it's just that trouble always managed to find her. Today she wished she could find something equally familiar but more comforting.

The five-year old girl hugged her puffskein closer to her and brushed her face in its soft fur for comfort. She had named him herself and he was always her special pet. No she was certain she had never gone down this side street before. Her anxiety increased every second as darkness fell as she walked down the road. A loud noise came to her left and she buried her face in her pet's fur completely. The scared girl bolted the opposite way slamming the both of them into the wall of the nearest building. Tottering back a few steps she found a door a few feet to her right and ran to open it. What light there was inside spilled out into the darkness and she spilled into the room.

Once in, she was caught between the impulse to curl her cloak up more tightly around her and loosen her grip on it. She wasn't alone anymore but she was now among strangers instead, which was nearly as terrifying. Her puffskein had recovered from the shock of the wall and now was purring contentedly as the girl hugged it, causing a mildly calming effect on the girl. Gathering her courage, she marched up to the nearest person, pulled on the nearest clothing hem and blurted out in a loud voice:

"I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home."

She paused to draw a breath in her nearly never-ending sentence, "He misses my and his mommy."

To explain the scared girl held up the custard-colored puffskein. Sambundeakin the puffskein, however simply purred as if nothing on earth was wrong in the world.

Roleplay Response:
Fingers tapped across the surface of the table, she was waiting and impatiently so. Fay was wearing a mixture of dark purple and pink eye shadow, dark eyeliner, light purple lipstick and a stunning fur coat over her long black dress. She was dressed for a date, for a night out on the town but instead she was in a restaurant and alone. It wasn’t by choice, she didn’t want to be alone tonight but it appeared that her date for the evening had other plans.

She didn’t delude herself, if he wasn’t here with her than he had simply found someone else to spend the evening with.

Fay held herself strong, fighting the urge to let her makeup run lines down her face. She placed her handbag on the table and pulled out an ornate pocket watch, her face cringed as she forced a smile and pushed the watch back into her bag before gathering herself and getting up from the chair.

He was too late for it to be coincidence, she had been stood up and there was no escaping the sad realization that had dawned. She smiled regardless, to hold herself strong and get out of the public eye before allowing herself to be upset by the ignorant man who had left her waiting once more.

She glided towards the exit but was halted as a child appeared – desperate for help.

Her heart broke, another girl left alone. Fay leant down closer to the girl and cupped her hands within her own. She forced a smile for the little girl and spoke softly, reassuringly.

“It’s okay dear, we can get Sambundeakin home before he gets too scared. I’m sure his mommy misses him too, come on... let’s go take care of that stomach first.”

She wasn’t alone now, that much was settling to her.

SHOPKEEPER QUESTIONS
Answer these questions only if you are applying to be a shopkeeper as well.

Shop name: Contessa Hall.
Shop Description (200 words minimum):
Contessa Hall is first and foremost, an art gallery.

Fay runs the Hall as both an art gallery – buying artwork and sculptures, art dealership – selling artwork and representing artists and occasionally as a forum for hosting art master classes and lessons in general. Contessa Hall is a rather large building in Diagon Alley and is home to many famous paintings from Wizard History, every time she has the chance she rents the gallery out as a host location for magical exhibits.

(such as Egyptian Exhibitions)

The gallery has an entry fee, of 5 Sickles, which goes towards the general upkeep of the store. Represented artists will receive 80% of the value of their artwork when it is sold and the gallery collects a reasonable 20% fee on all represented sales it makes.

Schools – such as Hogwarts & Beauxbatons – may receive free entry if there is a field trip or excursion group attending the Gallery.

Contessa Hall itself has polished white walls and marble floors, the ceiling is also painted white. There are several small walls throughout the gallery floor, used to hang paintings on, several of which are painted in different colours to represent feature walls. The building itself is always brightly lit, although with no windows or obvious source of light it is almost impossible to know where the light comes from.

The building is notably colder than the outside world as if it was being air conditioned.

What purpose will this shop serve other than selling things and being the home of your character? Why would people want to RP there just for fun?
Contessa Hall hosts art classes and acts as a gallery (where people can purchase or sell their art to the gallery). There are many discreet reasons why people would choose an art gallery as a meeting place, first of all - to admire the displays and secondly - because nobody questions two people standing in front of a painting.

Contessa Hall is a unique and discreet location to casually meet up with people and bring about no suspicion, especially if you (perhaps) shouldn't be seen with the other person. The gallery itself is also an extra touch of class to the Alley.
