Biography (500 words minimum. There is never such a thing as too much.):
Damon was always a quirky child and that quirkiness came to its fullness for his muggle parents when he received his letter from Hogwarts. It appears his mother had wizarding blood somewhere in her past and it had come to fruition in young Damon. The young boy was often found conversing with animals in the woods near his family home. The odd thing was it seemed the animals were listening to him, but his parents had chalked it up to the imagination of a young boy. He also seemed to have an odd sense of style always insisting on wearing his father’s safari helmet and bowties everywhere he went. Damon had many other odd mannerisms that caused him to sometimes quickly lose his temper, but his understanding mother taught him several ways to remedy the outburst. Damon's father was a zookeeper, and his mother was a schoolteacher and up until Damon received his letter they were sure they knew all there was of the world. Once Damon reached the castle the gregarious young boy was easily sorted into the Hufflepuff house. Damon had always been fascinated by the animals at his father's zoo so it was natural that when he got to Hogwarts he took a strong interest in the Care of Magical Creatures class. Damon poured over the information of the new creatures of the world now open to him. One line from the textbooks had always interested him they had stated that no one knew for certain if they had found all creatures. Damon decided to make it his mission to try and discover a new magical creature and get his name in one of these books. The young boy studied hard and made his way through Hogwarts before he finally graduated. He soon found a job with The Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures as a Junior Researcher in the Beast Division. Damon worked hard, but unfortunately, his mother succumbed to cancer before she could see him succeed. Damon’s father pulled away from him feeling lost himself without his wife. Then feeling he was on his own many of his old mannerisms returned causing issues with colleagues and Damon found his road a difficult one. Eventually, he overcame those tools his mother had given him before her death. By doing so he rose to the rank of leading a research team. He reconciled with his father soon after a new confidence in himself found Damon had decided to face life with a smile as his mother had.  As he aged eventually he saw his father depart the world as well, but Damon felt much more equipped and ready for the loss of his father.  While he has led a happy life, sadly Damon has yet to realize his dream of discovering a new magical creature. Coming to grips with his age and with his body getting older and not being quite able to do as much as he used to Damon decided to turn to teaching and hopefully inspire the future generation the way he once was.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
(Please respond to to this in third person past tense. Do not write the other characters' reactions. Only your own.)

It was the largest office in Hogwarts and, perhaps to students and newcomers, the most intimidating. The shelves were filled with various odds and ends, with a place of honor for the Sorting Hat, and the walls held all the portraits of past Headmasters and Headmistresses.

In the middle of the room sat a large desk. Everything was in order, for the current occupant had always despised a messy desk. It was the sign of a messy mind, and she had always favored neatness.

A clock sat on the desk, which currently showed the time to be 2:05. The meeting was supposed to begin at 2:00 precisely.

Along with order, Anneka valued punctuality. She was a very busy woman these days. Even during the summer, she had a number of matters to attend to. Interviewing and hiring staff was only of those matters. The newest potential member of her staff wasn't making a good impression.

She paced the room, black heels clicking against the stone floor. When the door finally opened, Anneka turned, her expression reminiscent of a Russian winter. "You are late."

Explain yourself was what her face said.

Roleplay Response:

He was going to be late.. that much was certain and Damon cursed under his breath. Why did he always have the most rotten luck when it came to being on time? He could place things out in order the night before but somehow something would not be in the right place, and then would come the panic attack... What was a panic attack good for besides waisting time which caused even more of a panic attack!! His Safari hat... where could it be? He had worn it yesterday of course as he always wore it. It had to be on the nightstand, but no it was not. He had searched the closets, all three of them. Then finally he had found it under the bed. Of course how stupid it had fallen in the night. Why he hadn't thought of that first? Of course the bloody panic attack....

As a result, he had gotten to the station and had to take the following train. He was going to be late, at least five minutes. What a terrible impression. He was sure he had blown it. Damon had been honored to even get the interview and now he had done something so, so,..... "breathe..." he said to himself under his breath on the train trying to remember the calming exercises. Now was not a time to lose control. There was nothing to be done about it and when he arrived his best bet was to be honest. 'Honesty was the best policy..." Wasn't that what they always said?

Damon stepped off the train and made his way up to the Castle. It was like stepping back to his school days, nothing had changed. He made his way to the Headmaster's office and as he had predicted he was five minutes late, and as he had expected it was noticed. Damon took his Safari hat off and turned it round in his hand as he gave a smile to the woman accross from him that he hoped to work for. A woman that was reminding him so much of his mother when she gave him a a look telling him to explain himself. "I do so apologize, Headmaster. I misplaced my hat and unfortunately missed the correct train. I do hope you still have time for me." he swallowed hard, "Well we can agree I can not teach the students anything about punctuality, but oh about magical creatures. That I know!" he said smiling as he awaited to be told to sit down to start the interview, but fully aware he may just be told to leave.
