Biography: Xiomara was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 23rd 1958 to Rosa Rodriguez and Jose Rodriguez both natives from Puerto Rico. After her first year of age both parents decided it be best to separate due to their differences. In the interim of her young age Xiomara barely saw her father as he had gotten remarried with a woman who hated her for reasons unknown. Back then in Puerto Rico divorce was rather un common but it was seen more and more on younger couples. At the age of six her mother had decided to get remarried to a man that had three daughters from his first marriage. Xiomara became his forth daughter but unfortunately she was one of the middle child. She loved him as much as he loved her that was until he found out her mother was a witch as was Xiomara. Afraid to leave her mother her stepfather Carlos decided to give his marriage try in hopes that maybe just maybe she wouldn’t cast a spell on him. Xiomara found this sort of funny; it helped her realize how much power her mother had over her stepfather.
As for her stepsisters Xiomara did not care much for them, they were bullies to her and Xiomara tried hard not to use her magic as her mother had advised. But there were moments she really wished her father was around. The years went by and her father got remarried again to a woman that was worse than the first one. This time Xiomara decided to forget her father exhisted and hoped that somehow her life would change for the better. Until one day her stepfather came home and said that he was getting transferred to New York. At the age of ten Xiomara was excited because her stepsister would visit less than they would if they stayed in Puerto Rico. Once the move was finalized and they got to New York, Xiomara quickly made friends but they were all muggles. She didn’t care and neither did her mother, in fact her mother liked the fact that Xiomara had an outlet from the mundane life she was living since her mother and stepfather fought all the time. He always accused her of hexing him or even casting spells on him something that Xiomara knew was not true.
When she turned eleven Xiomara was accepted in Salem a school for witches like her. Although it was hard to explain to her muggle friends where she went to school Xiomara loved her school. The day she became part of the school Xiomnara thought it would be easy to make friends in a place where everyone was like her but that was not here nor there. Xiomara kept to herself most of the time and rarely participated in anything. She missed her life back home and somewhat missed her father whom she had seen in years. Year went by and Xiomara got more and more comfortable with Salem, she even attended quidditch games but only to entertain herself. It was sad at times she even spoke to herself because of the lack of friends. But every time she went back home, she would hang out with her own muggle friends. Her and her mother argued all the time because Xiomara sometimes regretted being a witch.
