Biography: (300 words minimum.)
The first-born in an impressive line of purebloods, the Keddings, Jackson was the pride and joy of Shephard and Sonja Kedding. He was raised right, with all the morals and values one would expect of a Kedding brood member. As the oldest, of course, his parents doted on him, giving him everything he could possibly want…within reason of course.

While he was well-loved and perhaps a bit spoiled, Jackson grew up humble, with an honest heart and a shy personality. Used to hiding behind his parents from a young age, going to Hogwarts was terrifying for him; it was the first time he was legitimately on his own. As the first born, he was alone, striking out in the path his parents wanted him to follow, filled with trepidation and hopeful innocence.

And, of course, fear. He was always afraid to disappoint, to let down his family, the staple in his life.

He made friends, of course; Jackson was easy to get along with and well-liked among his peers, though he tended to focus more on schoolwork, pleasing his parents with wonderful grades. Though his father had been playing Quidditch with him all his life, he never really took to the sport, substituting dueling in its place in an effort to remain in his parents’ favor…not that it was necessary.

He was loved simply by existing. He was a very lucky child.

Upon his graduation from Hogwarts (with honors of course), he wavered when it came to making a career decision. It was only recently that he decided to write for the Daily Prophet and, with his focus and razor-sharp concentration, he could easily go far in such a field.

Still, his family always came first; they were a close-knit bunch. He adored his parents, doted on his siblings and kept in close touch with cousins and various other family members, meticulously deepening family bonds and staying strong in his work at the Daily Prophet.

But where he excelled in family relations, he utterly failed in romantic ones. Women made (and still make) him very nervous and, more often than not, he tends to put his foot in his mouth, not thinking through his words before simply spitting them. He has good intentions of course but that sometimes gets misconstrued when he opens his mouth.

Charms may be his magical strength, but the personality trait was definitely not a strong point of his.

Nowadays he focuses on work, always taking time to write his cousins and siblings, coming home for weekly (almost daily) dinners with his parents, and doing his best to avoid offending every woman in Britain. His father being in the MoD as a General has been hard; he was always a worrier, but they are as close as ever.

Option Two -

The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:

Jackson didn’t particularly mind the snow, but that was probably because it kept many people indoors; he wasn’t one for crowds. A shy, well-mannered boy, Jackson Kedding preferred silence or the company of his family, to strangers…especially if said strangers were women. Skinny, fat, beautiful, unattractive…it didn’t matter.

Jackson was not good with women.

For all his skill in Charms, his foot seemed permanently lodged in his mouth when it came to members of the opposite sex. He could duel with the best of them and his writing skills were certainly nothing to laugh at, but speaking with girls…he’d rather dive headfirst into a frozen Hogwarts lake to wrestle with the Giant Squid.

At any rate, the snow at his feet at least promised that most of the population would be willingly locked indoors, warming themselves by the fire with loved ones close. It was, after all, that time of year. Jackson himself was looking forward to the dinner he would be eating later, when he popped back home for visit with his mom and dad.

A collision sent him reeling forward, losing his already precarious balance and falling forward on his face, just barely rolling to the side to avoid cracking his head against the hard sidewalk. “Ow!” He exclaimed, his shoulder the only thing between him and hard ice.

The apology made him look over at the man who had knocked him back and Jackson, ever the polite one, scrambled to help him pick up all the tinsel he’d dropped. “No, no, it was my fault really. Wasn’t paying much attention. Are you alright?”

He piled the glittery tinsel back into the box and held it out to the man, waiting until he was steady on his feet to release it back into his care. Then, giving an unconsciously charming smile, he gave the man a two-finger salute, “Happy Christmas sir!”
