Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Wallace "Wally" Thatch often thought of himself as living in the shadow of his older sister, Lindsay—not that he minded. From the moment he could walk, Lindsay had been his hero, his guide to the world of scraped knees, hidden treasures, and grand adventures. Born three years after her in 1965, Wally had a quieter disposition than his boisterous sister, but he possessed a sharp wit and an unwavering loyalty to those he loved.

Early Years

Growing up in North London with their eccentric historian father Quentin and warm, practical mother Bridget, life was never dull. Wally marveled at Lindsay’s energy and bravery. While she fearlessly climbed trees and poked at strange creatures, Wally preferred to stay a few paces behind, documenting their adventures with a small notebook. He didn’t mind being her “sidekick”—in fact, he loved it.

But Wally wasn’t without his own sense of curiosity and mischief. Inspired by Lindsay’s daring nature, he discovered he had a knack for clever tricks and puzzles. He’d spend hours devising riddles, setting up harmless pranks, or crafting intricate scavenger hunts to amuse his sister. In return, Lindsay called him her “little genius,” a title he secretly treasured.

Magic Awakens

As Wally grew, strange occurrences became a part of his life, much like they had for Lindsay. One winter, while feeling particularly frustrated with a broken kite, Wally had accidentally caused it to fly perfectly, zipping through the air with no strings attached. Another time, during a heated argument with a neighborhood bully, Wally’s words seemed to echo unnaturally, sending the older boy running in tears.

When Lindsay received her Hogwarts letter, Wally couldn’t have been prouder—or more envious. He listened intently to her stories of magical classes, enchanted feasts, and daring escapades. Each time she returned home for the holidays, she filled their small flat with tales of Hogwarts, and Wally soaked in every word.

But beneath the pride and admiration, Wally worried. Would he be good enough to follow in Lindsay’s footsteps? Would Hogwarts even want someone like him, quieter and more cautious than his fearless sister? He loved her dearly but couldn’t help feeling the pressure to live up to her larger-than-life example.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Wally was sketching up some ideas for scavenger hunts to do with his sister Lindsay before she left for school at Hogwarts. It had all been very exciting as they all went to Diagon Alley to get her supplies. Even their little four year old sister, Ciara who was barely walking was wide-eyed looking around at all the magical items in the shop windows.

Wally couldn't wait until it was his turn. Suddenly a girl was talking to him. "I'm sorry what? Play? I am in the middle of planning something for my sister, but I suppose I could take a break. What did you want to play?" Wally did so enjoy games and he waited eagerly to see what adventure this new friend brought.
