Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Pierce Roman Huxley-Jewell is the third eldest of the Huxley-Jewell children. Like most of his siblings he is fond of his parents but not particularly close with either of them. His father the ever honorable ministry administrator, Abelard Huxley, worked long hours and was raised in the traditional fashion where the children and household fell upon the woman. On the other hand his mother and famous actress, Sutton Jewell, would vehemently disagree. As she built her success she basked in the limelight turning to philanthropic pursuits after leaving the stage. In turn the two left their beloved children at the behest of nannies and tutors.

Pierce excelled at flying from a young age and his parents wanting to nurture his skill, while not necessarily wanting to be involved, got him flying lessons from quidditch professionals. By his second year at Hogwarts he was a chaser for his house team. He was of course sorted into Slytherin as he showed his cunning means from the moment he was born.

Throughout his Hogwarts years he excelled in his exams (except divination which he could often be complaining about). He took pride in matching or surpassing his siblings. He and Lorelei tolerated each other as he though she was an annoying twit most of the time and she him an arrogant git. The younger ones escaped his notice most of the time as he thought himself above them. Though, if he got any whiff of someone bullying or talking about his siblings there would be hell to pay. Unless that sibling was Remy. Remington was a whole other matter.

From the time he could understand Remy was his elder brother, Peirce followed his lead. Thinking and acting like him and though he would nenver admit it he admired Remy. Until She happened.

After Hogwarts Pierce signed with the Chudley Cannons and after a few good years was voted Captian. During this time he began seeing a young reporter for the Daily Prophet who covered the cannons weekly. Unlike his previous relationships that he had been in, this was as close to that “love” he had heard others talk so much about. So like anyother young man struck by cupid’s bow he decided to take her home for familial approval. His mother was overjoyed and his father gave nod before returning to work. Pierce was happy, he didn’t even notice the glances between his brother and his girlfriend. That is until he caught them intertwined in Remy’s room that night.

The girl cried and begged for forgiveness while his brother said nothing. That night was the night Peirce moved out of the family estate into a penthouse in Wizarding London. As far as he was concerned his brother was gone and love was for the weak.

When he got word his uncle had died and his fortune and the title that came with it was up for grabs Pierce swore Remy would never see any of it. Only one question remained. Who what his newcomer claiming to be his cousin.

Roleplay:
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Option Two -
The snow had been falling steadily all morning and it didn't look like it was going to stop any time soon. Joshua Campbell scrunched his face up in a frown as he lifted his gaze to look to the sky. Snow. It really was quite a bother.

And it certainly didn't make it better that Diagon Alley seemed to be getting more and more crowded. Joshua sighed and pointed his wand at the large box that was currently placed on the doorstep of his shop. He had to get going. He had an order to deliver.

"Wingardium Leviosa!" The elderly man muttered and watched the box hover in the air for a moment. Honestly, did St. Mungo's really need that much tinsel? And with glitter of all things? He sighed again. If it hadn't been for the rather convincing stamp on the order, he would have been likely to believe it had been a prank by one of those orphaned rascals living up there.

Oh well, there was no point in waiting. Joshua deftly stirred the box down the doorstep and out onto the street, carefully levitating it above the heads of the crowd.

"Coming through! Coming through!" His voice sounded over the chatter of the crowd. "Keep out! Move ahead! Go on!" This was going way too slow. People were in the way and walking like they had all day! He huffed. Luckily the road was down hill.

"Coming through! Coming th--- arrrgh!" Joshua let out a loud shout as his feet suddenly slipped in the snow and sent him, the box, and several long strands of tinsel tumbling into the person who had been walking in front of him.

"For Merlin's sake!" Joshua muttered angrily as he hurried to his feet again, red and gold tinsel now decorating his black coat. "I am so sorry! This blasted snow!" He looked apologetic at the person he had crashed into.

Roleplay Response:
Option 1:

Pierce made his way thorugh the stree as he rubbed his temples. ‘These sunglasses are pathetic’ he thought to himself. As his pain from the previous night’s events raged on, the loud female voice talking about the prophet didn’t help.

On instinct Pierce caught the woman before she hit the ground and set her up right. “Maybe if you didn’t buy a cheap pair of heels that wouldn’t happen,” He said smugly. Rolling his eyes he pulled out a cigarette and offered one to the woman. Not caring if she got one or not he hit his own.

“The Prophet still out luring men with you lot?” He said raising an eyebrow. “What are you writing about, eh? Top fashions of today? 50 Ways to keep a wizard? If so you are failing at both it seems,” Pierce smirked moving to walk away. ‘Useless reporters…’ He hissed to himself.

Hi Pierce,

Your application looks good, there’s just a few things we’ll need you to edit before we can get you accepted.

Firstly, we don’t allow members to claim positions such as captains of Quidditch teams, even in the past, as this can make tracking who was captain when very difficult and can quickly lead to inconsistencies in our canon (e.g. with multiple characters all having been captain at once). You’ll need to edit this from your occupation and from your biography. Bear in mind that there may be multiple other characters who have also claimed the position of Chudley Cannon Chaser in the past/might claim it in future, so this may have led to some games where Pierce was not playing. You don’t need to edit this or change anything about this part, but it’s something to bear in mind if it ever comes up in future.

Secondly, your magical levels are unbalanced—your lowest level needs to be at least half of your highest (so if you have 12 as your highest, the lowest needs to be at least 6). If you’ve submitted a special request for this, could you resend it via PM to me? If you haven’t submitted an exceptional levels request, please can you either do so by filling out this form and PMing it to me or edit your levels to make them balanced.

Thirdly, you mention in your biography that Pierce was a Chaser for the Slytherin Quidditch team. Given our extensive site canon, the Chaser position during Pierces’s Hogwarts’ years was actually already filled by other characters. You can still say he was on the Slytherin Quidditch team, but you’ll need to keep this vague to avoid causing conflict in our canon with other characters who actively played as Chaser during this time. Please can you edit out this role?

Finally, in your RP sample, you have Pierce catch Amelia before she hits the ground. This would be considered powerplay if this were a real thread, as you don’t give Amelia the choice to let herself be caught. You’ll need to edit this to have Pierce trying to catch her (but leaving it up to Amelia whether or not he succeeds) or letting her fall to the ground.

It’s also a little unclear whether or not Pierce is just turning to walk away, or is actually walking away at the end of the RP sample. If you mean he’s just turning to walk away, that’s fine, but if he’s actively leaving, you’ll need to edit this out, so that ‘Amelia’ would have something to reply to.

Once you’ve made the required changes, please repost your entire revised application below, and we’ll be more than happy to take another look. Thanks!

When he got word his uncle had died and his fortune and the title that came with it was up for grabs Pierce swore Remy would never see any of it. Only one question remained. Who what his newcomer claiming to be his cousin.

Pierce made his way through the stree as he rubbed his temples. ‘These sunglasses are pathetic’ he thought to himself. As his pain from the previous night’s events raged on, the loud female voice talking about the prophet didn’t help.

On instinct Pierce reached out to catch the woman before she hit the ground. “Maybe if you didn’t buy a cheap pair of heels that wouldn’t happen,” He said smugly. Rolling his eyes he pulled out a cigarette and offered one to the woman. Not caring if she got one or not he lit his own.

He turned to look at her again. “A little advice sweetheart, find a real career,” He sneered hoping she would have some fire in her to bite back and give him some entertainment today.

Throughout his Hogwarts years he excelled in his exams (except divination which he could often be complaining about). He was of course sorted into Slytherin as he showed his cunning means from the moment he was born.

After Hogwarts Pierce signed with the Chudley Cannons and after a few good years was loving it.

Hi Pierce,

Your application looks good now! One thing I missed the first time around: you mention that Pierce graduated Hogwarts in 1954. If this was the case, he would have been born in 1935-36 (depending on the month) and would be 24 (turning 25) in the 1960-61 term. If you want him to be 23 (turning 24) in the 1960-61 term, his graduation year would actually be 1955.

You might find this age calculator helpful to work out ages -- or feel free to contact me if you need further help.

If you could ensure that the graduation year matches up with his age, then we can get you accepted. Thanks!
look out! look out!
