Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Aphrodite Foxe

Birthday: June 8, 1944

Hometown: Near Bristol, England

Bloodline: Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one):Divination

Year (pick two): first (please!!), second (if first is unavailable)

Biography:
Aphrodite Dione Foxe knows a lot of things. She knows how the world works, or her world, at least. She knows her family. She knows her opinions. She knows what she wants, and that is greatness. Greatness, of course, has requirements. These she does not yet know. She strives to learn what they are, as well as to reach the epitome of humanity: perfection.

There are a lot of things Aphrodite is absolutely sure of. She is sure of the fact that looks are of the highest importance. What else is there in life, really, apart from appearances? All that mushy, only the inside matters propaganda....She knows it is false. Deep down, everyone desires to be pretty. That was something she knew she did not have to strive for.

She is sure of the fact that she, though perhaps not the favorite for some incomprehensible reason, is the one in the family with some potential. Alba is far too pushy, and cheeky in the worst moments. The twins are well versed in being the annoying babies of the family. And her cousins...oh, so many of them. Aphrodite Dione Fox far outshines the rest, a princess hidden from the world in the acres of the family farm...in her own mind, at the very least.

She’s sure of the fact that love is the most beautiful thing the world has to offer. The idea of it is beautiful, perfect, something she would very much like to have one day. The young girl knows not all relationships turn out like the ones she imagines. She knows that she will have to go through more than a few relationships to find the perfect one for her. That’s okay, though; it will be worth it in the end.
She’s sure of the fact that pink is the best color. Others might claim that yellow was in favor, or light blue in style, or red the color the best of the best wore. Aphrodite knows better. Through her eyes is a world of pink. A world of pink, of seashells and beaches, of queendom, of sparkles, of cherry blossoms and roses, of love and a happy ever after.

She’s sure of her story - that she does not care what others think of her. But she knows she is not the only one in the world, and she will need the good opinions of others in order to make it. What other people think does matter; if she is nothing to the world, she must be nothing overall, and those who are nothing made it nowhere whatsoever.

Aphrodite considers what she does carefully, and when she makes a mood, she is certain that it is the right one; if not at the moment, then in the long run. Life, she has decided, is like a game of chess. She just needs to be a good few moves ahead of everyone else. With her eagerly awaited departure to Hogwarts upcoming, Odi is determined to do just that. At Hogwarts, she will finally have opportunities. She’ll make her choices, she’ll find her friends and enemies, and she’ll start her rise to the top.

Aphrodite Dione Foxe knows a lot of things. She knows she is usually right. She knows she is meant for more than the farm life.

She knows she is destined for greatness.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: I’ll leave it to the Sorting Hat!

Personality:
Aphrodite thinks of both the short and long term, and chooses every move she makes carefully in order to set herself up better for both. If she judges that she will come out better for it, she can and will manipulate you. If you’re a person she thinks she should get to know in order to become a known name, you will get to know her, whether you like it or not. She presents an air of confidence at all times, and her mind is always processing what is happening and considering what she should do next in order to come out on top. Though she will say she does not, she cares what those she has decided are important think of her. She’s sweet, sometimes deceptively so, sometimes genuinely. She isn’t afraid to be outspoken, but knows when to hold back, and she’ll lie if she needs to. One  might discover her to be an entirely different person in one setting versus another. It all depends on the situation.

Appearance:
Blonde hair, hazel eyes, slender build, pretty average height. Appearances are important to her, and she makes sure to always look her best.

Option 2

Flowers, Aphrodite thought, had to be one of her favorite things in the world. There were so many different variations, each more beautiful than the next. Though she had no desire to grow them herself--gardening was a far too dirty job that required way too much time for her to want to try it--she did like to admire them and hope she would be given some one day.
Odi had left piles of papers behind on a nearby bench, as her original intentions for this excursion had been to complete her homework with a backdrop that was not the Common Room for once, but the questions she needed to answer had been forgotten in favor of smelling all the flowers in the vicinity. She had just bent down to admire a particularly large red anemone when the peaceful gardens were disrupted.

Standing up again, she watched the older boy stomp through the flowers in undisguised astonishment. How could he just crush them so shamelessly like that!? They were so pretty, and he'd just destroyed them without thinking twice about it! First impressions were important, and he had already made a bad one on Aphrodite. And then he wiped his nose on his sleeve in full view of her! The girl was quite honestly disgusted, and she did not care if this boy knew it.

"Nor is it polite to go around destroying flowers and then using your sleeve as a tissue," Aphrodite retorted, standing to her full height, making sure to keep her back straight and head up. Posture was quite important in giving off the right impression--in this case, that she was confident in what she was saying and wasn't afraid to confront someone years older than she was. "Are you in the gardens just to trample the plants?"

Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Aphrodite Dione Foxe knew a lot of things. She knew how the world worked, or her world, at least. She knew her family. She knew her opinions. She knew what she wanted. And that was greatness. Aphrodite also knew greatness had requirements. Most were blurry, but she was sure of one. Perfection.

Though the blonde-haired, hazel-eyed, undeniably beautiful child was only seven, there were a lot of things she was absolutely sure of. She was sure of the fact that looks were of the highest importance. What else was there in life, really, apart from appearances? All that mushy, only the inside matters propaganda....She knew it was false. Deep down, everyone desired to be pretty. She didn’t have to strive for it. She very well knew she was already there.

She was sure of the fact that she was the family favorite. Alba was far too pushy, and cheeky in the worst moments. The twins were well versed in being the annoying babies of the family. And her cousins...oh, so many of them. Aphrodite Dione Fox far outshone the rest, a princess hidden from the world in the acres of the family farm. At the very least a princess in her own mind.

She was sure of the fact that love was the most beautiful thing the world had to offer. More than the rest of the family, Aphrodite noticed things. Things like teenagers in Hogsmeade shooting shy glances at each other. Muggles holding hands at the cinemas she visited with her father. Couples shopping together at Diagon Alley. It was beautiful. Perfect. And something she needed. The young girl knew not all relationships turned out like the ones she imagined and dreamed of. She knew, when she grew old enough, she’d have to go through more than a few relationships to find that perfect boy. The Prince Charming she pictured in her dreams, while her cousins discussed how boys were so icky.

Boys were only icky in comparison to her, really. She’d have to search for quite a while...Only four more years to wait. Four more years, until Odi was eleven and she would receive the Hogwarts letter she was sure was coming. And then, the search would begin.

She was sure of the fact that pink was the best color. Others might claim that yellow was in favor, or light blue in style, or red the color the best of the best wore. Aphrodite knew better. Through her eyes was a world of pink. A world of pink, of seashells and beaches, of queendom, of sparkles, of cherry blossoms and roses, of love and a happy ever after. She had no concept of divorce, preferring to believe true love was forever, and brushing aside Aunt Magda’s divorce as just not having the right capability to truly love. The girl, of course, did not realize the truth in that she was only seven and really had no idea what backed her aunt’s divorce.

She was sure of the fact that she didn’t care about what other people thought. Or at least...that was her story. But if people don’t like you-what are you? Nothing. You were absolutely, utterly nothing. And people who were nothing were the exact opposite of perfect. Odi didn’t care what other people thought, she insisted to her mum and her siblings and many aunts and cousins. But even goddesses can lie.

A princess, a queen, a goddess, even. All things she aspires to be. Really, they are all the same thing. Perfection. And greatness.

Aphrodite Dione Foxe knew a lot of things. She knew she was usually right. She knew she was meant for more than the farm life. She knew she was destined for greatness.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.
Quote
Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trudged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"
Roleplay Response:

Finally, finally, they’d made it to Hogsmeade! Away from the farm at long last. Not that the farm was terrible. It was just so…drab, sometimes, and it seemed like the young girl had been stuck in the dusty, animal-filled environment for weeks and weeks in an unending stretch. Thank goodness for Father, who had finally noticed that Odi was withering away and needed to escape. Needed to wear something other than casual farm clothes. Needed to have an excuse to comb her hair and put on her favorite heart-shaped locket (that currently featured photos of her two favorite barn cats) and borrow some of Mum’s lipstick.

While her siblings had opted to wear play clothes for the day’s outing at Godric Park, Aphrodite, of course, could not stoop to such levels. Not when she was going to be out in public. She’d chosen her outfit for the day, a hot pink blouse and black skirt, with extreme care. She didn’t know who might see her, after all.

Though sadly Dad had insisted Alba and the twins needed to come along as well, at least she was free from the crowdedness of living with all of her cousins, for the time being, at least. The seven year old skipped happily ahead of her family and into the park, ignoring Apollo’s calls for her to come back and walk with them. She could play with her siblings anytime. But now she was out in the big, wide world. She didn’t have time for them right now, there were things to do, people to meet.

“You!”

Her head turned at the sound of another girl’s voice, sharp and demanding. Aph’s not-bushy eyebrows (she’d checked) rose. “Me?” A tone of voice that was both inquisitive and just a bit cold at the same time. The blonde knew the other child was talking to her, because face it, why wouldn’t she? But Aphrodite did not like this girl’s tone of voice to her, no sirree, not at all.

“...Do you want to play?”

Now there was a much more welcome question. Quickly glancing behind her-her family was still too far behind to stop her from going off somewhere-Aphrodite nodded in affirmation. “Yes, that sounds lovely. What did you have in mind?”

Typically, it was Odi that chose the games that were played. But she didn’t want to offend the other child just yet. The other girl might just prove herself useful.
