Biography:
Spencer Larsen was born on the 23rd of January to a loving mother (a witch) and father (a mediocre businessman). When Spencer was only two, his father died, leaving the family in quite a pickle. To provide for her young son, Spencer's mum took a job at St. Mungo's.

With his mother often busy at work, Spencer grew to be a fairly independent child. He became quite content to entertain himself, and didn't make many friends. When he received his letter from Hogwarts, his mother was delighted that he would finally have a chance to be surrounded with other children his age. While Spencer was still convinced he wouldn't speak to any of the other kids, his mother desperately hoped this would be his time to have the normal childhood experiences of having friends.

Option I:

There was nothing quite like the peaceful ambience of the Hogwarts dungeons, Spencer decided. Just past the entrance to the Slytherin dormitory, there was a slight bend in the hall that was often cast in shadow. It was the perfect spot. A steady drip, drip of water ran down the stone walls, and the soft darkness was like a comforting hug. The only downside was an unpleasant smell, but it hadn't taken long for his nose to adjust to that and it was well worth it.

The hustle and bustle of the day-to-day ongoings within the castle was sometimes just too much to handle for the young boy. The time away from the other children was very helpful in helping him to focus his mind. And, of course, he needed a chance to write to his mum. He, of all people, didn't need to be labeled a mama's boy so early in his school career.

As Spencer sat there, his quill scribbling out a greeting to his mother, he heard a small sound from somewhere down the corridor. It sounded almost like... a timid voice? Puzzling over what the sound could have been, he sat up a little straighter and tilted his head to one side.

The voice came again, though much louder this time. "Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

Thrown off a bit by the sudden change in volume, Spencer slowly stood and peeked toward the source of the sound. To his surprise, it seemed to be a girl, perhaps around his age. He stepped out of his shadowed corner and gave her a tiny smile.

"I don't think there's anyone down here but you and I right now." He paused briefly, one question begging to be asked. "Who's Emma Birch?"
