Her brother Grigor is ten years older and her younger brother Roman was born only a year after herself. She grew up as a very privileged child, living in a huge mansion with anything she could possibly want. The family kept horses for their carriages and sleds, human servants rather than house-elves, private tutors for their children. Nadežda was taught in several languages, dance, music, history, geography and literature among magical skills. She developed a deep love and affection for her older brother, trailing after him whenever he was home from school, going so far at to join his business lessons taught by his father due to his status as the oldest child and therefore heir to the family's empire one day. Early on, Nadežda developed an interest for business herself. After relentless begging, her father finally caved and gave his daughter a chance as well. And she proved to take it. Everything he taught her, Nadežda internalized until she eventually started to make her own suggestions of improvement, astonishing both her brother and her father. Nadežda attended Durmstrang where she was among the best of her class. After graduating, Nadežda could finally do what she had dreamed of all along. Becoming a part of her family's empire and making a name for herself. It didn't take long and Nadežda took over entire branches and maintaining many of the family's relationships herself, her exceptional sense for business and her confidence helping her achieve great deals.
She met her husband during one of her many business trips across the country. Their wedding was the most talked about event that year and was celebrated at the Zdravkova's estate. Unfortunately, due to infertility, Nadežda and her husband were never able to bear children, a fact that always nagged at the outskirts of her brain. Even greater therefore was her elation at the announcement of her younger brother's expected child. But no one could have foreseen the turn of events. During a quiet, moonless night, Roman and his freshly wed wife Anastasia, packed their bags and left without a trace, never to be seen again. And along with them, they took their unborn child and Nadežda's joyful anticipation. Years passed. Years in which the Zdravkovas did everything they could to bring back their granddaughter and niece, but every time they ended up at a dead end.
Until new and promising business relations brought Nadežda into London.
Roleplay: You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:Option One - Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.
“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“
Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.
Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.
She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.
Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.
“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.
Roleplay Response:The clacking of her high heeled boots across the cobblestone street drowned in the noisy bustle as Nadežda strode back towards the Leaky Cauldron. The queue at Gringotts had been endlessly long and she had had to wait ages to finally exchange her Russian wizarding money to Britain's. Expectedly, lunchtime had been the worst time to do just that. And naturally Nadežda had planned to be here as soon as the bank opened its doors, avoiding any inconveniences. Unfortunately though, a dimwit intern at the Russian ministry had misplaced her portkey for her travel and the department had to organize a new one which had taken hours. And now she had to push through a massive crowd to hurry for her next appointment.
It really couldn't have gone worse.
Her boot caught onto something and Nadežda had to fight to keep her balance. Looking down she saw the broken off heel of a shoe. With a flip of her hair, she kicked the thing to the side and went to resume her trek along the street when a panicked voice broke through the bluster.
Looking around she found a distraught looking woman crouching and crawling after the hell Nadežda had just kicked away. She sighed at the sight of the girl. Really, it wasn't that dramatic. With a flick of her wand and a muttered "Accio heel", the block came flying into her hand and Nadežda held out the thing towards the redhead on the ground. "Here", she said with a slight Russian accent. "And don't crawl over the ground like that. What would your mother think?" With that, Nadežda held out a hand to help the girl up.
