Biography: My name is Catherine Winchester, but please call me Kat, and I was born to Alexander and Emma Winchester. My father is a Potioneer and my mother is an Arithmancer. I am a Londoner, born and bred. I have an elder sister, Iris and a younger brother called James. Although I live in such a busy city, I believe I am fairly reserved but I am not very shy as I don't want people to take advantage of my insecurities about my height. I want to follow in the footsteps of my aunt and become a professor one day or possibly a potion. I enjoy reading and sports such as quidditch and netball. Since the age of 8 I have been studying magic with my parents and my teachers although I have been taught little bits of magic from a very young age. I am fond of many subjects at school but especially English, Mathematics, Charms and above all, Transfiguration. [/b]

Personality: Intelligent, witty, a little fiesty, funny, friendly but can turn sour when people are rude. A little arrogant at times but means well.

Appearance: Short, wavy black hair with a fringe, deep hazel eyes and a caramel complexion. Short height and petite in size. Freckles if you look close enough but are usually unnoticeable. Her short stature puts her in a little bit of a disadvantage at times, but adds to her flexibility and agility. Doesn't let her height give anybody the wrong ideas as she carries herself around proudly.

Catherine seems like a doll, in fact, I was curious about your thoughts on what her first year at Hogwarts might have been like. Her parents and Aunt, I would gather, are a sophisticated influence on Catherine. Did she find that Hogwarts was everything she imagined, or did she think the children were a rowdy bunch?

You mentioned her height and her insecurity about it. Is she a bit shorter than most children or is the feeling mostly in her head? You said that she tries not to shy away from people because of it; does she try hard to be outgoing, is this reaction an especially overt behavior, while an inner monologue is contemplating how much she wants to be respected/admired/etc.?

Finally, your role-play response is concise and definitely answers the other character's question, but I was wondering what Catherine's mood might have been before getting pounced on by the young reporter. What was she doing in that particular hallway; rushing to class maybe, attempting to find a friend?

Biography:
Catherine Winchester had a very sheltered childhood. She was taught to respect her elders, be kind to her siblings and to chew with her mouth closed. Although her father was always buried nose deep in his work and her mother no different, Catherine would forever admire her parents even though she was ignored mostly. Everything she had known as a child was very much controlled by her parents who decided on everything in her life; her clothes, her hair and even who to be friends with.

Catherine would never say that she wasn't grateful for what she had received and learnt as a child, but she was however, frustrated by the life that was already planned out before her. She felt inexperienced, left out and above all ignored.

Now in her teenage years she has experienced her fair share of rebellious moments, like that one time she dyed her hair red much to her mother's horror and her father's indifference. You could say that she did the things she did just to gain some type of attention from her parents, but it only led to her being whisked away to an all girls school. If the change in schools was supposed to 'teach her a lesson' then it proved to be nothing but futile as she became even more rebellious than ever.

Catherine has always admired her aunt though. Her aunt Darcy, who was a professor at her old school, was young, fun and loud. Aunt Darcy was a role model to Catherine and is the reason why Catherine wants to be a professor. Her aunt has constantly been there for Catherine and has given her time and love to her niece.

Now that she is fast approaching thirteen, Catherine is hellbent on doing well in all her classes and hopefully one day becoming a professor just like her aunt Darcy.

Personality: Catherine is an intelligent and feisty young woman and a little rebellious. Despite that she is fiercely loyal to her friends and sociable but can turn sour when people are rude to her or her friends. Although she can be a little arrogant at times but means well. She is insanely stubborn and will never back down from a debate or argument so things can get heated fairly quickly. She is not very quick to anger but sometimes allows the smallest of things to agitate her.

Appearance: Catherine has a caramel complexion and wear her hair in long, dark brown waves. Her eyes are a warm brown almost like her hair. She is of a fairly short stature and is petite in size but has never let that be a disadvantage.

"Oh where is that girl?" Catherine thought aloud to no one in particular. She was searching for her assigned charms partner, Sephy. She was about to give up on her search for her estranged partner when she was suddenly approached by the school new reporter.

Catherine was discreetly glancing over the girl's shoulder to see if Sephy had shown up recently, which she still hadn't yet. While the girl before her was trying to talk to her, Catherine remained unresponsive as she started to run towards a flustered looking Sephy who had just entered the room. Catherine had every intention of giving Sephy a piece of her mind...
