13 February 1952

Biography:
As the spoiled youngest child and only son of Axel and Melissa Emerson, Ox never lacked for aught. While his parents never quite stated they were rich, it was clear from their impressive estate, fine appointments, top-of-the-line broomsticks and well-tailored clothes that his family had means. Despite his young age, Ox liked to live up to the image, keeping his dark curls combed and finger nails clean.

For the most part, his older sisters, the twins -- well they were alright, except they didn't seem to take him very seriously. This was a problem for Ox because he was smarter than they were, with big ambitions and bigger ideas, and the the second they laughed off his complaints he'd become quite cross.

Ox Emerson did not enjoy being laughed at.

Luckily, he'd already made quite a few friends through ABC Daycare and he was more than ready to learn to be a wizard among the children his age. The challenge was, how would he successfully stand out when everyone was required to wear uniforms? Specially embroidered ties, patterened socks, scarves, jewelry and other accessories were necessary to prove that Ox Emerson had style the rest could only admire. Even if he was only eleven.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

House Request:
Slytherin, please!

Personality:
Ox is particularly conscious of what others think about him, and if it seems like someone doesn't like him, storm clouds can grow over his head. On a good day, though, especially with people he trusts, he's attentive, friendly and relaxed. His motivation to work hard and participate in activities comes primarily from the drive to impress his friends and family.

Appearance:
Ox isn't a fan of his nose; it sits large in the center of his face, even though his mum promises he'll grow into it. His dark curly hair is a little unruly for his liking, but it looks worse when it's too short, so he does his best to tame it and tries not to scowl when he fails. Everything else is, essentially, perfect, from his near-black eyes and full mouth to the shape of his face.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Ox pretended he didn't hear the older boy's words, which were clearly not directed at Ox because Ox was nothing like a rat, nor had he done anything to deserve being addressed that way. He continued to crouch down in the flower bed and scratch at the dirt with his stick. The boy did his best not to get any of it on his hands.

He was here for one reason only: to find Maeve a pretty neat bug. That's what he knew boys were supposed to do for girls, give them presents every once in a while to keep them happy, and his friend (for some reason) thought bugs were great. It was a grand gesture for Oxford Emerson to be here, in the mess of things, looking for a gross insect, just for her.

While he looked for a crawlie, he heard the other boy sneeze and turned toward the source of the sound. A disgusted expression twisted Ox's face as he watched the older boy smear snot all over his own clothes.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

The sneer on Oxford's face sharpened as he stood from his crouch. "Oh, you wrote the book on politeness, did you?"

do you remember the twenty-first night of september?
love was changing the minds of pretenders while chasing the clouds away
our hearts were ringing in the key that our souls were singing
as we danced in the night, remember how the stars stole the night away
