Biography:Morgan Barlowe grew up in the heart of London, always aware of her mother’s magical background but also never seeing a whole lot of it. Caroline Dobbs did always use magic for menial things, like laundry and dishes, but other than that there wasn’t much. When she was really young, she remembered her mum being a lot more attentive than she was years later, something that Morgan attributed to her mother’s busy career as a muggle lawyer.
Morgan didn’t know much about her father; she knew his name and she knew that he was not in her life and that was it. Caroline didn’t like answering questions regarding the man she had attended Hogwarts with so long ago, so eventually the girl stopped asking.
Things began changing when Morgan turned eleven; her mother spoke to her more about Hogwarts, the school that she would be attending in the fall. Morgan felt a bit overwhelmed about that, knowing that she didn’t have nearly as much experience with magic as others her age probably did. Not only was Hogwarts a hotter topic as of late, but so was her father. Caroline finally told her that he had been living abroad for most of her life, but that he was now back in London.
So, she met him. It was awkward, and while the girl was hesitant to get close to the man, she could already feel some sort of connection with him. It was strange – not something she had imagined she’d feel, and yet it gave her hope that he may be able to help her get to know her mum better.

Personality:Morgan has always been more independent than her peers; a lot of that is attributed to the fact that her mother was pretty hands off soon after the girl began going to primary school. She knows that her mum loves her, however she does wonder if the woman had ever wanted her to begin with.
She is naturally curious about the magical world, as she didn’t grow up in it, and most of the time doesn’t even think about using it. She is easily fascinated by even the simplest of charms, though she is familiar with the ones her mum has always used to do dishes and laundry.
She doesn’t like making plans – she’d much rather be spontaneous and live in the moment than think about the consequences of her decisions. She isn’t worried about breaking the rules, mostly because she has never had a lot to follow anyways. Her mother pretty much trusted her explicitly to do what was right. But now, with the freedom of being in the castle and less adult supervision (or so she thinks), she will probably find herself into more troubling situations.
Appearance:Morgan has her mother’s olive skin and straight hair. While her eyes are not blue like her father’s, she can see herself in his eyes. The subtle similarities are strange, but also intriguing.
→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.Option I:The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.
A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.
The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.
Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.
Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.
If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.
Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.
"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.
"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"
The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.
Roleplay Response:Morgan furrowed her brow as she turned another corner and saw the same exact corridor – again. She was mind-boggled about the Dungeons. Ruth had told her they weren’t scary, had told her that it was fine if she went wandering around by herself, and yet here the eleven-year-old was, totally lost and turned around.
How was she walking in circles? It made no sense.
Footsteps in the distance caused her pause. She stood still for a moment before deciding to
not be scared and face whoever or whatever was down here with her.
"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"Morgan finally released a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding and began moving again, this time towards the voice. She couldn’t believe how scared she’d been just a moment ago, as she approached the girl who was about her same age.
“I really don’t think Emma Birch is down here, it’s just something the older kids tell us to make us scared,” she responded when she finally came to a stop in front of Evangeline.
