Biography: (100 words minimum.)

Despite being a pureblood, Lavinia did not have a stereotypical posh upbringing.

Born in the heart of Bucharest, the young girl was the product of a not-so- well kept secret. Her mother Ruxandra was the only daughter of a wealthy ministry official of Romania, a prestige her own blood would never reap benefit from. A summer long affair with a rumored mercenary left her pregnant out of wedlock, something that was forbidden. Truthfully, though she knew the consequences of such actions, Ruxandra felt her parents would not judge her harshly as their only daughter.

She was gravely mistaken.

The woman was taken into the convent to prepare to give birth to the little girl. Her parents had decided that the baby would be put up for adoption, and perhaps the indiscretion would be swept under the rug and never to be spoken of again. A complicated delivery led to the devastating death of the Cel Tradat daughter and an infant’s life hanging by a thread. Despite the ministry official calling for the child to be taken care of, a nun by the name of Anca whisked the baby away. The two fled to the arms of Ruxanda’s youngest brother Marius. Unbeknownst to his father, Marius had taken a liking to the nun while his sister was trapped in the convent.

The trio were on the run for five years, teaching Lavinia of her heritage and native tongue. She knew them as her aunt and uncle, and knew what had become of her mother. They held no secrets from their niece, finding it tiresome to lie and call her theirs when she was not. However, the hunt for the child continued and eventually, they were found in Bulgaria. For their treachery, both Anca and Marius were both sentenced to prison and the child was sent to Scotland, a demand made by the ministry official’s wife behind his back.

And so the girl appeared at the doorstep of the Hogsmeade’s Children’s Home. Lavinia, better called Vinny by those who were unable to pronounce her name upon arrival, did not speak for a year. She was very reclose and only found solace in a fellow Romanian. She was discouraged from speaking her native tongue and was instead forced to speak only English. The two children spoke in secret until the boy was adopted and pulled from the home.

Starting Hogwarts was both a blessing and a curse for Lavinia. Fitting in was a struggle, but she did find two girls that seemed to tolerate her enough. The weight of her past was heavy on her shoulders, and even though she knew the name of her birth father, there was no way to contact him. Allegedly, the home had tried to do so but nothing came of it. However, there was no telling how true that was, claiming just because she shared the surname of the pureblood prince did not mean they were in fact related.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
The sun was a fickle luxury that most took for granted.

But Vinny enjoyed every ray she was able to absorb. The group outings for school supplies was something she liked to do as much as possible. Being in London was a different world, a much larger world than little old Hogsmeade. There was always a sea of different people, loving to people watch and observe the silly things adults did when they thought no one was looking.

Going to the park was about the second best part. There were usually other kids to play with, ones that didn’t make fun of her or push her around like at home. She enjoyed meeting other children her age and sometimes, she was able to call them a friend by the end.

As Vinny walked towards a large oak tree, a voice called out. It sounded younger, more demanding and took her by surprise. Glancing towards the source, a weak smile appeared at the question, “Sure.” She spoke hesitantly, not wanting to be yelled at again. “What do you want to play?”

Hi Lavinia,

Your application looks great, there's just one thing we'll need you to edit before we can get you accepted.

You state that Lavinia is 12 years old but that she was born in 1950. If she was born in October 1950, she would be 16 years old (as of summer 1967). If she is 12 years old (as of summer 1967), she would have been born in October 1954.

No need to repost your whole application, but if you could respond to this to confirm whether she is 12 and born in 1954 or 16 and born in 1950, we can get you accepted. Thanks!
