Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Hestia Lupert

Birthday: 15 August 1951

Hometown: Swansea, Wales

Bloodline: Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one): Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two):
1. First Year
2. Third Year

Biography:

At the age of seven, the only person that Hestia could call a friend was a border collie pup named Finn. From the moment her parents brought him home, she already knew that the two of them would get along well, after all, she had no luck bonding with humans. Training Finn was a very difficult task at first, as with the case of many puppies. She had to go on scavenger hunts nearly everyday to figure out where Finn decided to poo, and it varied nearly every day until he was properly potty trained. Somedays, it was by the mail box - no problem. On others, her bed, or the kitchen floor, or underneath the dinner table. It was at this time that Hestia really wished to learn more about magic and not just about magical creatures. For one, if she knew how to cast spells like her father, she could clean up Finn's poo easier. All it would take was a flick of the wand, and a "Accio, dog poop!"

Hestia's home life was undoubtedly magical, figuratively, and literally. She was born to a pure-blood father, and a muggle-born mother, the two of them loved her like the world. And, she also enjoyed being around her other family members, especially her grandmother (on the maternal line). There was lots of food to enjoy, a non-judgemental dog she could talk to, and a really, really, really big backyard to explore. But, when Hestia was at muggle school, she hated almost every single second off it. It wasn't because it was hard (it was easy to Hestia), but because she was bored out of her mind, and hated having to sit in the same classroom for "soooooooooo long..."

She also disliked being around the other children, who always seemed to think that she was strange. That was why she always confided in animals instead.

Her mind was one that belonged somewhere else, like somewhere the birds sing, somewhere the brambles grow wild and free with sweet blackberries on their branches, somewhere the wolves howl at the moon, and the moon howls back...

But a dinner table with plates full of rugelach was just as fine for her.

House Request: Sort me! (But not Slytherin!)

Personality:
Something that Hestia Lupert will always say to people is that "I'm not shy, I just don't like being around people." And, she really means it. In her childhood, her experiences with others was often unpleasant, as she had nothing in common with the Muggle children she had gone to school with, and they often viewed Hestia as being strange. Even with friends that Hestia had made, she had always felt some sort of dissonance and distrust of what they thought of her. So, Hestia would end up confiding in animals instead, because she knew that they would never think she was strange in a bad way, but strange in a good way - she just needed to make sure that she fed them enough, and gave them plenty of headpats and belly rubs.

Something central to Hestia's character is that she's a free spirit (and also a bit of a prankster), and doesn't like to be limited to a single thing, and doesn't like to be confined in the same environment everyday. This was one thing that she disliked about her time in muggle school, after all, "How in the bloody hell is ten minutes enough for recess dad?! I can barely do anything in that time!"

"Well, how else can the school handle its cheekiest student and still be in tact?" Her father would say.

Ironically, the thing that Hestia fears the most is being alone, not the sort of being alone where one is in the company of themself and a good book, but the sort of being alone where one looks behind their shoulder, and finds that there's not a single soul in the world that cares for them.

Appearance:
Hestia Lupert is a girl with a thin frame and stands at 154cm tall. Her face is lightly freckled, with her freckles being concentrated along her nose and upper cheeks. She has light brown hair, and amber eyes. Hestia generally wears her hair in a bob, or she will just keep it messy, but rarely long and overgrown (as it gets in the way with physical activities.) Hestia's appearance suggest that she's a free spirit, an outdoorsy type, or just plain sloppy, but she isn't aware of it often.

Option 2:

Hestia never stayed in the Great Hall for too long during breakfast. For one, she was way too sleepy whenever it began, and two, she didn't like how noisy it was, and then three, she always preferred to leave and take a fat nap somewhere outside. Today was no different, Hestia ate quickly whatever she could, and grabbed the leftovers with her as she went outside. She hoped that she wouldn't get caught this time around.

The morning had a bit of a breeze to it, and that was the perfect condition for her to take a nap, besides making sure the coast was clear. She checked around her, left, right, then left and right again, and closed her eyes. Hestia let out a long breath, then began to count; it was a habit that she found to always help her fall asleep. As she was about to reach thirty, she already felt her counting was getting sloppy, a sign that she would drift out of consciousness soon...

That was, until she heard someone screaming

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

Hestia's body jolted in surprise. Her ears slightly twitched as well in response to the loud noise, and then she stood up and began to search where the voice came from.

It didn't take her long before she saw the fifth year pulling up flowers. She noticed that the boy's face was starting to twist and grimace, until he finally sneezed. Hestia had to suppress the sound of her snorting as she watched. 'Wow, that's a lot of boogers.' She thought.

Then the boy suddenly looked her way. "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Hestia giggled one last time, and then apologized. "Sorry, it was just that you disturbed my nap while you were digging up those flowers. Would you like some help with that?"
