On the first of August at exactly 7:07 am a pink faced Skykar was born into the Royal London Hospital . She did not know however... That out of all of the 76 other pink faced, and screaming infants placed into that room... There was something very -unique- about Skylar, something mystical.
".....and she didn't even cry ONCE!" The midwife finished explaining to the proud new parents of the huddled new born. "It's just amazing ! And she can do things that well... wow I can't believe she was only born an hour ago.!"The maid hesitated, she dared not add in the fact that she had sworn that the baby had given her a cheeky wink earlier. It was impossible! This child was a new born...not even a full hour old! It can't have been no, she must have imagined it . She WAS getting quite old to be fair... But never had her eyesight played up this much.
The next couple years were great for Skylar. She lived in the perfect House on the perfect street in the perfect area. She attended a muggle school and received amazing grades. "So how is she doing in school?" inquired Mr Addington at one of those things muggle schools call 'parent/teacher interviews '. "How is she doing in schoo-? Well she is doing fantastic Mr Addington !" Exclaimed Madame Padifoot, the school princible "Top marks on every subject ! Science, English, maths and-"
"Er-- is maths the one with the 'multiploocation and that?" Interrupted Mr Addington.
Skylar nudged her Dad, he hadn't gone to a muggle school himself so he wasn't familiar with the terms...Skylar understood that... But she didn't want to be - once AGAIN- humiliated at the meeting.
"Um yes.. Maths involves multiplication Sir"
"Anyway, as I was saying she is acing all of her subjects! It's incredible! One could say it's almost... Magic!"
Mrs Addington shifted uncomfortably in her seat at the word, but Mr Addington just gave a light chuckle. "Ah yes, but if only there was such thing as 'magic'" he said light heartedly. Skylar and her father exchanges looked and he gave a small wink, he knew very well that there was such thing as magic... For he was a pure blood wizard after all!
Skylar's life was near perfect... except for one thing- her older sister. Her older sister Jane attended Hogwarts school of witch craft and wizardry, she often out-shined Skylar due to her magically ability exceeding Skylar's by a mile - because she was older by 5 years and Skylar was only 8 at the time. Little Skylar had been counting down the days until she would get a letter from Hogwarts just like her sister did so that she would be able to turn wooden sticks into flowers for her Mom just like Jane had done on Mother's Day. Even though Skylar was jealous of her older sister's spotlight and attention, she loved her no matter what and would often find her self nagging their mother about when Jane was coming home again for Christmas Dinner.
However, one night in Jane's 6th year at the school, she was lead into the forbidden forest and not seen again after that night.
When Skylar heard the news, she felt as though she had kissed a dementor. Her stomach dropped and her brain was in a state of denial. She tried to speak but nothing came up. She loosened her clutch on the plate she was holding and as it smashed into a million smaller pieces on the hardwood floor, she barely flinched. Her expression remained- White face, mouth open and eyes so wide they looked like they would fall out. She felt the small pieces of the smashed plate enter into her foot but she didn't care. Suddenly, it's was like the whole world had been blocked out, the sounds of her parents calling her name had now became no more but mere muffled cries. Skylar closed her mouth, turned on the spot and walked into her bedroom. She turned of the light, locked the door and sat in the corner with her face to the wall, and she did not move from the position for weeks.
She finally gave
in and accepted that fact that she needed consume the plates of food her mother had been leaving by her bedroom door but she did not say a word to a single soul for the next month.
She felt as though nothing in the world could make her happy again, but one early morning.. As she was crouching in her usually position by the corner, she heard a knock. But the knock wasn't from the door, it was from the window. She contemplated for a moment whether it was worth it to check what the knocking was but she bit her lip and got up to check. What she saw staring back at her through the window came with great shock- a hazel coloured barn owl with bright yellow eyes illuminating in the August sun rays beating down on Skylar's window sill. With out another thought, Skylar rummaged through her room to find the key for the window lock and flung the window open hastily.
The owl so graciously swooped in and dropped in an elegant looking envelope by Skylar's feet and flew back out as abruptly as it had arrived. Still stunned- Skylar reached down, hands trembling, and picked up the envelope lying at her feet. She lifted the envelope into the light as not believing what she was seeing with her own eyes. She squinted at the neat quill ink writing on the front to read it ~ ' Ms S Addington, 22 Ashgrove Rd, Sevenoaks, Kent.' She flipped it over, the reverse side bore a red wax seal with a distinct emblem engraved on it. Skylar racked her brain, she knew she had seen that I am belong somewhere before but she couldn't quite figure out where. She held up her newly arrived bed letter up into the light of her small, slightly rusty of her bedroom window, and stared at that small red wax in the light for what seemed like minutes and minutes on end, the same 'H' figure that the seal bore seem very familiar to her. "H....H..." She thought aloud subconsciously. Hmmmm, "H...H...- no it couldn't be! " Skylar clutched the letter even closer to her face, grinning ear to ear- "H.....H... H.........OGWARTS!!" She felt momentarily dumb for not recognising the Hogwarts seal at first sight, but that feeling was instantly drowned by her utter excitement. Clutching the letter with her life, she wasted no time in flinging open her bedroom door with such force that the walls slightly shook and ran down the stairs as fast as she dared. "MUM! DAD! MUM! DAD!" She cried out through her panting breaths. She finally slid around the corner to the lounge area where her parents were sitting, reading 'the daily prophet' while looking quite alarmingly at Skylar.
Skylar flung the letter at the coffee table in front of her parent and watched eagerly as her dad picked it up and read through it with a bright grin. When finished, they both looked up at Skylar and beamed. " I didn't know! I mean- I didn't - I - wasn't expecting it!! I ..." exclaimed Skylar breathlessly.
"Had you forgotten what day it was today honey?" Asked her mother while stirring her freshly brewed cup of tea with a flick of wand. " What do you mean?" Asked Skylar slowly. "Happy 11th Birthday Skylar" beamed her father. And at the moment, everything made sense to Skylar, and her grin grew a lot bigger.

Option 1:
Skylar found herself wandering aimlessly through down the spiral staircase and towards the cobblestone-covered dungeons corridor. She began to run her hand along the walls but retreated it with a remark of disgust as she felt the cold, slimy, grime covered stone's unpleasantness upon her flesh . Wiping her hand subconsciously upon the fabric of her dress robes she kept her pace. She knew there was no point in coming down here, she expected that in a few minutes someone would ubruptly show up explaining that they had been sent down to look for her because she had not turned up to that day's divination lesson. Skylar knew she would rather do anything than attend her classes that day... anything not to be stuck at a desk with people she doesn't like, while the teacher lectured them for the remaining half an hour... all while Skylar growled under her breath, rolled her eyes and continued in carving her initials into the side of her wooden desk- ocassionally glancing up at the clock in the corner of the room that seemed to have been jinxed to go even slower than ever - OUCH!
Skylar had been so caught up in her train of thought that she had not realised that she was nearing the end of the corridor and ran directly into the rigid, cold wall. She stopped abruptly still shaken up from the shock of it all- but before she got the chance to turn to her left and continue her journey- she heard something that made her stop in her tracks once more.
Skylar immediately reached into her dress robes and wrapped her right hand around her smooth wand- which gave her a feeling of confidence, all while squinting into the darkness at the end of the corridor that the sparsely places torched on the walls failed to illuminate. Skylar had sworn she had heard a voice from down a neighbouring corridor. Skylar contemplated for a moment in where she should turn back and run away or face whatever the source of the sound was, but as once- as though a rude awakening- she was drenched in disgust at her own train of thought. 'You actually considered running away? You bring disgrace to the Addington family name!" She muttered to herself, she gave a light snort, hitched up her dress robes, and marched on down the passage. She stopped again- determined to hear what the voice was saying this time.
The voice spoke again- this time much more clearer than before. "Hello! Is Emma Birch here?" rang through the corridors, Skylar felt all of her fear drain out of her body. Was this it? The 'monster' in which she was moat anticipating to meet really a ...a first year girl looking for the ghost of Emma ? Silence filled the dungeons again and Skylar knew she had to do SOMETHING- for this was a golden opportunity. She knew she could be mature and responsible and come out to the scared girl telling her that she was just a student- just Skylar, and that there was nothing to be scared of- but no. She knew she felt rebellious that day- and decided to take diffrent action, she cleared her throat and began loud and clear " YOUNG LADY! HOW DARE YOU TRESPASS UPON THE SACRED HOGWARTS DUNGEONS AT THIS TIME! WHY... I SHOULD....I SHOULD REPORT YOU TO THE HEADMISTRESS AND GET YOU ON THE TRAIN BACK TO KINGS CROSS BY TOMOROW- DONT YOU KNOW WHO I AM LOVE ? IM PROFESSOR JANE MINTERLINE , DEPUTY HEADMISTRESS OF THIS SCHOOL AND I CAN GET YOU EXPELLED BEFORE YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO CAST ANY OF YOUR SILLY INCANTACTIONS! SO BEWARE YOUNG LADY!" She exclaimed from around the corner in her most professor-like voice. She then sniggered and made back for the way she had come. he knew she shouldn't have done that- but it felt so satisfying to have a little fun with people every once in a while- and Skylar also knew for a fact that there was no such person as a deputy headmistress called professor Minterline at the school- but she could help but giggle at the thought of what she just did. Skylar took about the steps before she turned the corner and the grin wiped off of her face at once. The door she had passed through just minutes ago was now bolted tightly shut, "No problem! surely the door can't actually be locked... I mean who could have locked it? No one else has been down here...er- I'll just push it, I'm sure it will open" she reassured her self. But no matter how hard she pushed and pulled- the door was definitely locked, from the other side.
A wave of panic flushed over her, and just when she thought matters couldn't get worse- she could swear she had heard foot prints approaching from the other direction. She couldn't think straight, she knew that who or...what ever the foot prints belonged to
would reach her any moment, IF it wasn't all a figment of her imagination.
