CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character name: Corrina Buzolic
Previous and/or Current Character(s) if applicable: Lily and Serena McCormick and co
Character age: 24
Character education: Hogwarts Class of 1957 - Hufflepuff
Strength and weaknesses (details please): Corrina is extremely hard-working, but selective about it. If she’s working on a project she really cares about, she will abandon all other tasks, or at least put them on the backburner until the thing she really cares about is set. That being said she is very driven and can be counted on to get the job done.
Corrina is direct. She has no problem saying what is on her mind. If there’s a problem, you’re going to hear about it. With that in mind, she can often come across as insensitive, though it’s a problem she’s aware of and working on.
She is bold and strives to look outside of the box for creative solutions.
Physical description: Corrina prides herself in her appearance. She is always well put together, and in the latest fashions, many of her own design. A partial metemorphmagus, she changes her hair and eyes to fit her current outfit and mood. Her hair is naturally black, but she often uses her powers to switch it up to blonde or other colors. Standing at only 5’, she makes up for the height by wearing high heels and confidence.
Personality (nice, rude, funny etc. Paragraph please.): Corrina can be charming when she wants to be. Growing up she used that to her advantage to get her way. However if you cross her, she has no problem biting back. In the classroom, she can be a tough professor to misbehaving students. She can be a little too blunt at times, and the lack of a filter doesn’t help.
But she genuinely wants her students to do well even if her tactics seem unfair.
On the surface, Corrina is confident and bold. However she also carries a lot of vanity, and with that a need for recognition. She won’t show it outwardly, but she actual has a fairly fragile ego underneath the bravado.
Hopes and dreams. Why are you teaching at Hogwarts?: Corrina’s dreams are bigger than Hogwarts. Her long term plans are to build her fashion empire. But her last experience teaching at Hogwarts taught her a lot about herself. It opened her world a little, working hard in a very different way than how she works within the design universe. It helped her understand people more. And she craves that understanding and connection.
Biography (500 words minimum. There is never such a thing as too much.):
The Buzolic’s were a standard Pureblood family. Valuing things like manners, etiquette and appearance, Corrina was placed in a variety of classes and lessons that were deemed suitable for little girls. Etiquette training, ballet lessons, riding lessons, flying lessons. And Corrie excelled at much of her training. But there was one thing that she wanted to do more than anything.
Fashion.
After her very first magical knitting and sewing class, Corrina fell in love. There was something about creating things to make other people feel beautiful that kept her on that path.
Her parents would often find her in her room late at night, tearing apart her clothing and creating brand new creations. It was strange, they couldn’t deny. But as long as she kept up with her studies, they allowed her to continue to pursue what she called ‘her greatest dream.’
She was homeschooled for a few terms and then decided she wanted to try her hand with other students. Beginning her Hogwarts Education as a Third Year, she was sorted into the Hufflepuff house, though she never really got along with her Housemates. In fact, she didn’t bother with friends very much at all, not having the time or patience for it. Talented with her wand and able to put forth intense focus and concentration, she should have been a straight O student. But her focus tended to waiver when she had a project she was working on. She excelled in Transfiguration because she used it most often in her creations, and it came fairly naturally for her with her partial Metamorphmagus abilities.
In her Fourth Year, she took on her first fashion internship, which she held over the summer. While she learned a lot from it, she clashed a bit with the lax work environment and respectively bowed out after one summer. The summer of her Fifth Year, she began interning at De La Roche Fashions and working under her idol Margaux Hartley. She continued working with her as an intern through her sixth year and was then signed on as a Design Assistant.
1958 brought with it a few major changes. The first was a self-induced estrangement from her parents. They were disappointed in her for focusing on a career instead of a husband. Second, Margaux returned from her teaching position at Hogwarts and assigned Corrina to head a Hogsmeade Branch project. Corrie moved to Hogsmeade to work on the Branch, but money was tight.
A teaching position at Hogwarts caught her eye. It was nearby. It was her favorite subject. She could do both. She was Corrina Rey Buzolic. She could do anything.
And she did everything and more.. In the summer of 1959, Corrina opened Bumblebee, her very own boutique. She left De La Roche Fashions and Hogwarts to pursue her own company. It was a very smooth start. She had a well established client base, reliable workers, and a thousand new ideas,
But with business booming at Bumblebee, it was time to start looking into expanding. With that in mind, Corrina placed some of her best workers in charge of Bumblebee, and set off to find another job. She needed more resources and was willing to work hard for her expansion.
SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
(Please respond to to this in third person past tense. Do not write the other characters' reactions. Only your own.)
It was the largest office in Hogwarts and, perhaps to students and newcomers, the most intimidating. The shelves were filled with various odds and ends, with a place of honor for the Sorting Hat, and the walls held all the portraits of past Headmasters and Headmistresses.
In the middle of the room sat a large desk. Everything was in order, for the current occupant had always despised a messy desk. It was the sign of a messy mind, and she had always favored neatness.
A clock sat on the desk, which currently showed the time to be 2:05. The meeting was supposed to begin at 2:00 precisely.
Along with order, Anneka valued punctuality. She was a very busy woman these days. Even during the summer, she had a number of matters to attend to. Interviewing and hiring staff was only of those matters. The newest potential member of her staff wasn't making a good impression.
She paced the room, black heels clicking against the stone floor. When the door finally opened, Anneka turned, her expression reminiscent of a Russian winter. "You are late."
Explain yourself was what her face said.
Roleplay Response:
Someone was going to get fired.
She wasn’t sure who that would be just yet, but someone misplaced the paperwork on her desk, and all she knew for certain was that it wasn’t her. Corrina Rey Buzolic didn’t misplace things. An assistant was what she really needed. She couldn’t afford one just yet, but as soon as she could her life would be so much easier.
If she’d had an assistant, she wouldn’t have gotten held up at the post office and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5?! Minutes late for her interview. Her heels clacked satisfyingly against the stone and she brushed a few stray hairs hack away from her face. Almost there, almost there.
A hand mirror levitated in front of her face and she checked her reflection as she walked, pressing a bit of red lipstick to her lips and pocketing the tube. Finally she made it Anneka’s office. An impatient hand waved the now-bothersome mirror away and pushed her way into the office.
“Hello, Headmistress!” she smiled, striding confidently forward and holding her hand out, “Terribly sorry about that. Your time is too valuable for excuses, so why don’t we get right to my lesson plans? I think it’s going to be a really great year.”
lesson plans are on the way!
