Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Charlotte was, thankfully, the only child of Carolyn Wilson and Dylan Roberts. Thankfully because she doubted the couple could handle another one of her. For as long as she could remember, little Lottie had been learning what it was to be a real lady. (As opposed to a fake one, she guessed?) And also, for as long as she could remember, her father had been spineless.

Her mother’s temper was bad, something that she had inherited from her, and she supposed that Dylan was so used to her tantrums that he’d often just leave the house when she was flaring up. Because of Carolyn’s inability to control her emotions, Lottie had learned from her mother as well. Plastic plates and plastic cups were what she was used to using, along with other items that could not be easily smashed to bits.

In the summer of 1971, when Charlotte had just turned 9, her mother informed her that she was a witch. At first, she laughed it off. That was absolutely ridiculous. Until Carolyn explained that when she was a lot younger, around four, she’d been coloring and couldn’t find a crayon of the right shade of pink. Suddenly, the black one she’d been holding had turned the perfect color. Charlotte thought she must have blocked that from her memories.

That paled in comparison to the other news she was given. Charlotte was being shipped off to the UK to live with an aunt that she barely knew. Sure, her Aunt Mari was cool, but she preferred Aunt Dore. Why couldn’t she be sent to the younger one?

Equipped only with the knowledge that his daughter was going to London to attend a boarding school, Dylan agreed to the arrangement probably in hopes that it would bring him and his wife closer together. But Charlotte, she stepped onto that plane by herself with no idea of what the magical world even was.

Roleplay:
Reply as your character to the following:

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
What a whirlwind life had become, thought young Charlotte Wilson as she looked around Godric Park. She had only been with her Aunt Mari for a week at this point, but already she’d been introduced to so much in the magical world. Honestly, she was learning that nothing should surprise her anymore. So, when she spotted the boys riding around the park on brooms, she quickly got over the shock.

Lottie had thought brooms were for sweeping only, but it seemed that witches and wizards had more uses for them than cleaning. Peculiar, she thought to herself.

Her aunt’s apartment was full of various types of plants, which luckily meant the place smelt fairly good most of the time. Except right after they got watered. Then it smelt of wet soil. She’d been told, on day one, that she was not to touch any of the plants.

Her aunt also had an impressive collection of books on Herbology, but for some reason they were off-limits to the young Wilson. Of course, the books being untouchable made them even more interesting for the girl. The only books she was allowed to look at were the ones that had pictures of magical creatures, or that talked about the history of magic.

It honestly was pretty dull, and all Charlotte could think about was how badly she missed her friends at home. Though she’d eyed the wand that her aunt carried around with her lying unused on the counter one morning. She’d been contemplating picking it up, to see what the big deal was, but had yet to do it. Perhaps she would once they returned to the flat later that day.

Lottie pulled the book she’d been reading most recently, The Tales of Beedle and Bard, from the pink floral bookbag she’d brought with her from Los Angeles. It was another thing that she found peculiar, like so many other things that Aunt Mari had told her. The stories were not the usual kind she was used to. She --

A girl yelling in the distance interrupted Charlotte’s thoughts. She had found a comfortable spot underneath a tree, in the shade, where she had begun reading the next story. But feeling she’d been watched, she looked up and spotted the girl looking directly at her.

Lottie raised an eyebrow, narrowing her eyes slightly. "Not with the broom, I hope,” she responded, her eyes moving towards the discarded stick on the ground.
