”My daddy is stronger than yours!”

“My daddy is smarter than yours!”

My papi sells illegal contraband better than yours.
But she couldn’t say that now, could she?

At a young age, Luciana Sofia Isabel Valentina Moreno quickly understood that her family wasn’t like any other. The big mansion, the exquisite works of art adorning the walls, the frequently polished marble floors, the closets drowning in clothes of the finest quality, the hefty jewelry that could blind when in the sun.

But also the basement she was forbidden to access, papi’s office which was strictly off limits, the practiced lines to tell at school if people asked any question about her family, the different family name she had to identify with, the houses they owned and went to when they needed to act like a normal family.

Javier Moreno had built his empire from nothing. Back in Spain, anyone familiar to the criminal underworld knew the Moreno name. The birth of his first and only daughter didn’t stop the crime mogul from developing his business. The moment she was old enough, he started teaching his daughter the art of his work and didn’t hide the illegal trade he partook in. This led to very many disagreements with his wife which led to a divorce once Luciana turned nine years old. Luciana didn’t understand it then but now she knew why there had been many papers signed between the two and a lot of money offered for her mother to leave the country and keep her mouth shut.

Her Beauxbatons acceptance came not too long later and, seeing this as an opportunity to expand his empire, the Morenos left Spain to occupy France. However, halfway through her studies, her father pulled her out to go to London where, again, a new opportunity arose for him. And so, Luciana finished her education at Hogwarts and, the second she was out, her father recruited his own daughter.

It didn’t take long for this life to take its hold. While she lavished her possessions, she won’t lie, she grew tired of the sneaking around. With her school years, she made friends she got tired of lying to. She got annoyed by his father’s rotation in women who really just tagged along to get their hold on his riches. The sense of danger lost its appeal. So, Luciana escaped her family’s business to live the life she always wanted. She found her own place, worked many small jobs to get her own money, hung out with her friends, attended a bunch of events, helped craft some.

But reality always found its way back. After refusing one of her father’s demands, a plan went wrong, and next thing she knew, she was at her uncle’s funeral. Had she just accepted this one offer, she might have saved him–

With a heavy heart, Luciana abandoned her life to rejoin the Moreno business that would always keep a firm grip on her, whether she liked it or not.

 Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

 Roleplay Response:
Luciana hugged her back to the wall and observed the busy street. Her gaze shot left and right and spotted a large incoming crowd. She pulled down on the large brim of her sun hat to hide her face and put on her sunglasses. When the loud chatter of the group approached, she slipped out of her alcove and joined in as if they were old friends.

She didn’t like to visit Knockturn Alley in the middle of the day. With how busy Diagon Alley always seemed to be, one person could easily spot her and question her visit to the dark and dangerous off path of the sunny street. She was a socialite; she knew a lot of people, it wouldn’t take long for someone to recognize her. But when Papi sent her off on a task, he expected her to do it now. So, subtlety and sneakiness were two arts she learned to refine over the years.

After a short walk, she pulled away from the group who hadn’t seemed to be bothered by her appearance and took a deep breath. Good, she was safe. And she might as well do a little shopping while she was here—

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

She turned her head towards the shout and inwardly sighed. She’d heard the woman earlier try to prod people about something for the Prophet. Because of Papi's business, Luciana did her best to avoid the press. But no one seemed to be helping the poor woman who, really, should have thought about bringing her wand to save herself from this situation.

“Here.” Luciana squatted down and took her wand from her purse, casting a Reparo on her wheel. “You know, there’s no need to sound so much like a damsel. It’s just a heel.” She added a smile to soften what could sound, and frankly was, a critique.

Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Imagine your stereotypical Pureblood family. The money, the power, the reputation, the looks. The Grants were exactly that. Every Pureblood event hosted welcomed the Grants and they accepted every invitation gladly. Victor and Vivian Grant never wasted an occasion to gloat about their ever-growing businesses and their wonderful children who would later on, continue the legacy.

Raphael Damien Grant, heir of the Grant name. The eldest grew up with expectations from his parents to embellish the family name and it was a role he accepted wholeheartedly. A kind and respectful man who already knew the trades of the company and could recite all their family’s history.

Giselle Vivian Grant, the youngest and only daughter of the Grants. A lively child who captured the hearts of many with just a smile and a bat of her eyelashes. She charmed people with her youthfulness and was happily spoiled rotten.

And then right dead in the center, Cedric Rhys Grant. Like many, he was a middle child obscured by his siblings’ shine. He’d never been the favorite as the attention all went to his brother and was shared with Giselle as the only daughter. Cedric was still loved, very much so, but people tended to ask more about Raphael and Giselle then him.

Frankly, he didn’t give a shit.

Unlike his siblings, Cedric didn’t care about impressing anybody. He was perfectly content being a wallflower and observing everything from afar. Dutifully, he still plastered a charming smile and partook in activities, socializing with the fellow members of the Pureblood societies. But deep down, he could not be bothered one bit. He enjoyed his upbringing; money did buy happiness despite what everyone said. But Cedric held his own little secrets, a dark side kept from his family. He chose his friends wisely, close confidents who knew the real him and not the polished aristocrat he made himself be. And now at Hogwarts, he felt even more free to be the person he wanted to be.

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
Leaving the Grant mansion always felt so bloody liberating. While his home held an absurd number of rooms, some only visited when parties were held, nowhere felt freeing. Even in the third dinning room they never used—still lavishly decorated of course, who do you think the Grants were?—he could feel the walls’ eyes bore into him.

So, whenever gloomy London didn’t feel like flooding the whole city, Cedric slipped out of his room without a word to grab some fresh air.

His fingers tapped against the cigarette box in his pocket, the need for nicotine slowly growing. But he was passing by Godric Park and he couldn’t avoid someone potentially recognizing him.

”You!...Do you want to play?”

Cedric stopped in his tracks. Deep down, he wanted to bark a laugh and leave without a word. Except the reality of his entourage hit him yet again and he took a brief second to fetch the social mask he so often wore.

“Of course,” he said with a smile. He hoped her parents were somewhere nearby to witness this act of chivalry.

He lowered himself to be at her level and tutted. “My my, what happened here?” He eyed the toy broom stuck in the earth.
