Biography: (100 words minimum.)Mister and Misses Mallory were two muggles lucky enough to win the lottery in having an all-magical litter of children. They were surprised (to say the least) when it first happened, and if they were ever asked just exactly
how they were never really able to give an answer because they were never really sure. But it started with their eldest, Russell, and when James popped up 7 years later they were wrong thinking the first magical baby had been a fluke. So when Ig—born one year after James—started showing signs of magical abilities as well, the two parents were well versed in what to do at that point.
However, on that odd night the Warp hit, the Mallorys were not spared from having their little family torn apart. It left Ig suddenly parentless at only six years of age, unsure of what was going on but thankful he had his brothers, and together the three of them survived. Orphanages started to become the new normal, and as time goes on Ig has started to realize the few memories of his parents he has left are just the stories Russ tells and retells the youngest brother on the numerous nights when Ig can’t sleep.
Now, at twelve, Ig has found a home as a Slytherin at Hogwarts. Being of the quiet variety of student, it had been hard to make friends right away… But that was fine. He’d always been a bit of a loner anyway. And even though Russ had left them for life as a soldier as soon as he had graduated, James was still around to steal the food off Ig’s plate. As long as the two of them stuck together, with Hogwarts to fill up the school year and camp to occupy their summers, they would never have to go back to that damned Children’s Home. They would be fine.
Roleplay:Reply as your character to the following:Godric Park.
Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.
Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.
It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.
"John, I said
wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.
Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.
Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby. "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.
"...Do you want to play?"
Roleplay Response:One foot stepped in front of the other, an endless series of steps that led him on and on, until suddenly his dropped line of sight watched his beaten old shoes press into emerald grass. He hadn't been paying attention to where he was going, really; he had just been fueled with a need to
get out.
But what could one do when they didn't have money to go to a shop or diner? Or when one's only friends were their own brothers... both of which were not available at the present?
Thin shoulders slumped in thought as he squinted out over the horizon, at families and clumps of children laughing and playing in the beaming summer sun. So involved in his observation of the scenes in front of him, Ig completely missed the sound of someone coming up behind him.
"You!"Ig jumped at the sudden bark, turning to stare widely at a girl he'd never seen before.
"...Do you want to play?"It wasn't an offer he got often.
"S-Sure?" He stammered, but then looked down at the toy she held and frowned slightly, "I... don't have a broom though. Is that-- Is that a problem?"
He and his brother's had never been able to
afford one, but that wasn't something he was about to tell the girl.
"I'm Ig, by the way."
