Born into a well preserved pureblood family, there is only speculation about what had gone on behind closed doors. Generational wealth, strong prejudices, and beauty were things confirmed by the public. Elitist blood ran through their veins, spanning back to the beginning of time when the name Tudor meant nothing. Before the surname struck fear and also respect in the hearts of many around them. The family is well known among all classes of society, for a multitude of reasons, for better and for worse.
Durmstrang provided solace from the orders of duty - but barely. Excellence and perfection had been expected, and thus, achieved by the firstborn and heir. Manners, conversation, and manipulation were things he had learned at a young age. The art of insults in the form of a tongue versus a wand - though he had his fair share of using his fists in bursts of anger. The urge to express masculinity was far more toxic than any potion created or conjured. Dominance was taught, drilled into the psyche of the boy from an early age, and that carried him well into his adulthood. Confidence with every stride was a must to grasp the attention of those around him.
After graduation, he was sent to marry Freya Erling of Norway. It was there he began his work as a Cursebreaker, working hard to be respected for more than just his name. He became skilled in his department and learned all that he could. Truth be told, Alcide was content until...he wasn't. The man bought several properties in various countries, though he hadn't had the time to travel much. At thirty-two, the man accepted a position at the Ministry in Britain and left his wife to tend to their duties and children in her homeland.
Roleplay: You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character:Option One - Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.
“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“
Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.
Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.
She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.
Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.
“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.
Roleplay Response:The streets of Diagon Alley were filthy, both figuratively and literally. Disgustingly bred patrons filled the cobblestone streets, leaving no gaps as the crowds hurried to their destination. Small, meaningless lives wasted away for what? As they scrambled to find supplies for their sticky-fingered children, or buy the latest set of robes?
The man was beginning to go sir crazy being in the same place for so long. It was nearly time for a change, or some sort of excitement.
And unfortunately, the kind he was after wouldn’t appear.
As Alcide followed the traffic, a woman’s shrill voice echoed between bodies. A narrow look washed over his usually cool demeanor and he turned his head to look at where it seemed to be coming from. It was there a redhead sat on the ground, seemingly frantic.
“You need to get out of the way, forget the shoe!” he offered as advice, moving with the crowd as she came into better view.OTHERHow did you find us?
