Biography:
Malakai Archeron was an accident.
His Pureblooded father, who was so far removed from the main branch of the Archeron family that he wasn’t even allowed at the main residence, still seemed to possess the arrogance and superiority that came with the family name. When a younger, beautiful Muggle crossed his path and expressed interest in the man’s exaggerated confidence and excessive show of a wealth he didn’t actually have, Malakai’s father took what she offered; what he thought he was entitled to as a Pureblood wizard.
His mother told Kai this story when she felt he was old enough to understand his parents’ relationship. It was one of the only good things Malakai could say about his father; that he married his mother when she informed him she was pregnant with Kai.
Kai didn’t have the best relationship with his father. Over the years it became more and more strained as the son realized how little the father was providing for his family. It didn’t bother Malakai that they lived in a poor area of London. It only bothered him that his father always seemed to play the victim. If he was fired from a job it was something that he claimed to have no control over, instead of something he could have worked harder to keep.
Malakai was nine before he had any siblings and he was almost tempted to ask if his younger twin sisters were accidents too. He just didn’t have the heart to disrespect his mother that way.
He was ten when he got his first job. Just sweeping and doing small, odd jobs at a couple of the shops near their tiny home. He felt it was the least he could do while his father pretended to look for ‘bigger and better opportunities’ and his mother sometimes worked three jobs.
When his little brother was born, Kai began feeling more anger and resentment toward his mother as well as his father. They could barely afford to provide for the people already in the house and they kept adding more. With Malakai off at Hogwarts he wasn’t able to contribute even the little amount he was except when he was home for breaks and during the Summer.
He loved his siblings yet he hated being the oldest. He hated that he had to step up and help care for them when he was barely old enough to do so. Sometimes he wanted to be reckless and do stupid things like he often watched his peers do. Instead of working hard in all his classes to maintain decent grades and working himself to the bone whenever he had free time to give money to his parents, Kai wanted to play Quidditch just because he felt like it. He wanted to go to parties with the few friends he had and snog some pretty girls because that was what normal teenagers did.
It seemed that being a normal teenager wasn’t in the stars for Malakai Archeron.

Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.
House Request: Anything but Hufflepuff, please!
Personality:
Hard-working but in a bedrudging manner. Quietly ambitious; only wants to do well so he can get away from his parents. Loyal; he’ll do anything for his siblings. Guarded; it isn’t easy to crack his outer shell. A bit callous because he’s usually got more important things to think about than someone else’s problems or feelings.

Option I:
The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.
A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.
The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.
Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.
Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.
If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.
Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.
"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.
Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.
"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"
The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.
The dungeons. A place sixteen year old Malakai frequented often since his early days at Hogwarts.
Potions had always been one of his best subjects (he never said favourite because he almost never felt that strongly about anything) and he took supplemental lessons when he could.
Not only that but just the atmosphere of the dungeons suited his personality more than some other areas of the castle. Kai was not a happy, sunshiny person who liked to frolic through the gardens or the greenhouses. The only nature he really enjoyed was the forbidden forest and the rooftops at night.
Today his boots were stomping down the stone hallways, taking him to the potions classroom so he could check on a potion that needed a couple of days to brew properly. It was an important potion that counted toward his final grade more heavily than others.
"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"
Normally he wouldn’t pay much attention to other students and what they were up to down here. This voice, however, seemed relatively young and it reminded him of sisters, Ivy and Aurora.
He stopped his progress and turned to find the girl calling out for another girl that was dead. The least he could do was set her straight. Even if Emma Birch was a ghost, if the rumours he’d heard about her were true, she probably didn’t want to actually find her.
Rounding a corner, he found the girl and stopped a few feet away to lean against the wall.
“Not sure what you’ve heard about Emma Birch but I think she was killed by a professor years ago.”
Kai shrugged it off, unsure how that news would affect a young girl.
