Matilda Nordstrom-Davin

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Bertram, Bram Nordstrom. Born on 12/25/1914 to a well known and rich Pureblood family from a magical town in Sweden, Malmo. Bram, the oldest of 5 kids, has always been smart and well liked. He attended Gokstad Academy in the Netherlands, played Quidditch, excelled in Dueling and was the founding member of the Gokstad Wizarding Chess Club. His parents were detached, relying on nanny’s to raise their children, like many other Pure Blood families.

After Graduation, Bram went on to further his education, ultimately working his way up to a high profile Solicitor with the Swedish Ministry of Magic. He specializes in representing the Ministry against those who choose to break magical laws. Even at 59, he is at the top of his game.

Bram married Allegra, his wife of nearly 40 years, on 07/07/1934. This was not a marriage of love, but of name. It was required to keep the Pure Blood lines going for both families. They were blessed with one child, Thomas Nordstrom, just a year after they were married. Thomas was a great disappointment, turning out to be a squib. Allegra was always the more strict parent. So it was no surprise that she threw Thomas out of their family, disowning him. Betram didn’t fight it, not knowing what to do with a squib for a son.

Bram and Allegra lived very different, separate lives. Bram stayed at the family estate in Malmo, Sweden while Allegra lived at their London Brownstone. She was the face of the family, attending parties and charity functions, while Bram worked hard and loved his job.

It was the summer of 1973 that things changed. Thomas contacted his parents to sign over rights of his oldest daughter, Matilda. Thomas wanted nothing to do with a magical daughter, so his parents stepped up and took her in. While Bram kept up his life in Sweden, working for the Ministry. Allegra took Matilda in, living in their London home.

Bram loves his family, and regrets how things ended with his son. He wishes to know his granddaughter more, and in the coming months, he will have that opportunity. He loves to travel the world, going to exotic locations.

At home on the family estate he has a barn full of horses and a kennel filled with three of the most loving and snuggly Rottweilers you will ever find. They may look evil to those coming onto the property uninvited, but they are the sweetest pups in the world to those they know.

When Bram enters a room, there is an air of superiority about him. He comes across as smart, cultured, witty, sarcastic and affectionate. He is friends with most that he meets and wants nothing more than to enjoy time with his family, which is also one of his biggest failures.

Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
Walking down the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley, Bram went shop to shop in search of something…. Anything that will draw his eye. It was Christmas in just a week and he had very little for his wife and Granddaughter. Sure, there had been a few pieces of Jewelry that Allegra would smile at. Maybe even say she liked, but in reality she was miserable to shop for.

Currently, wrapped in tissue at the bottom of a paper bag, sat a Cameo Brooch for his wife. In a lovely shade of green, to set off her eyes, Allegra would hopefully love it, but with her one could never be sure. He would of course get a few more things to help his cause. Maybe a first edition novel or a bottle of her favorite perfume. Or more like it, all three just in case.

For his Granddaughter he had no idea. She had just turned 13 and was a mystery to him. His wife insisted on keeping her in London. It was easier to take her out to the parties, introduce her to friends and help her through the Pure Blood introductions. Did she like to read? Was she into music? Was she frilly? Loving dresses and makeup? With long red hair, he thought about a hair adornment, but did she like sparkles? It was disappointing that he knew so little about Matilda. Something he hoped to rectify over the summer when he took time off.

As he exited yet another shop empty handed a commotion caught his eye.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!”

Bertram walked towards the young woman, with hair much like Matilda’s in a bright fiery red. With a smile on his face, he walked up to the young woman to see what help she may need. “Hello, are you ok? Is there something I can do to help?”

Bending down, Betram retrieved the shoe with the broken heel. “Here, this seems to need some repairs. Reparo!”

With a wave of his wand, the shoe was fixed and ready to go. “Here you go ma’am, I hope this helps.”

Holding his hand out, just in case she needed to balance herself while putting her shoe back on. “Is there anything else I can do for you?”
