Biography:

Being an only child of a hardworking, single parent, Sophia quickly learned to enjoy the company of a book when there was no one else. She wasn’t bitter about it; her father was working as hard as he could, so she would too. Sophia was nearly bursting at the seams at the thought of attending school. Studying on her own time just wasn’t enough anymore, and being the quirky little girl she was, the thought that she would soon be attending Hogwarts made her so excited she ran laps around the room. It wasn’t enough so she readied her trusty companion- Snarky, a small terrier, and they set off down the cobblestone streets of their small, uneventful, residential town. 
    The only thing she would miss about this place was her father and Snarky, but she would miss them dearly. She planned on writing to her father everyday, but unfortunately, write as she might, Snarky would never understand why she was gone and that made her terribly upset.
   There were only a few other wizarding families in the small town of Acton on the outskirts of England so there were few children to play with. Sophia’s mother was no longer part of the picture, her father never wanted to talk about it, almost all she knew about her was that she was a muggle, like many others in this town. Sophie didn’t mind at all.

Personality:
Sophia Nolan is rather bashful and unassuming. She is not comfortable being the center of attention and shies away from boisterousness of any kind. She loves to learn - anything. And if she struggles with something she will work as hard as she can become proficient in it. She has lived a calm live and has never had anything test her mettle to any true extent although she has always been drawn to the heros and heroins in stories. She often daydreams about being as brave as them, though she silently doubted herself.

Appearance:

Sophia is slim with a creamy complexion. She is prone to scrapes and bruises despite often trekking through the outdoors to clear her mind. Her shoulder length black hair doesn’t need too much upkeep. She often keeps it parted to the sides and held back with a simple silver headband.

Option I:
 She scarfed down her lunch so she could study before her Potions exam. The Professor had been stressing Cures for Boils lately so she studied their recipe closely as she ate a bite of sandwich. It was too much. She couldn’t eat she was so nervous so she finished her last bite, backed her bags again and left.
  She rounded into the hallway outside the Great Hall and hurried to the dungeons earlier than necissary. She rounded a corner sharply and - “"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"     
 Sophia froze, mouth gaping stupidly.
     Her heavy bag, filled with books, slid down her shoulder and made a horrible shattering sound as it hit the stone floor. Dread filled her and she just knew her glass containers for Potions class were destroyed. What was she going to do? Potions class was just a few moments away!
     She stared down at the bag, blinking away her disbelief then looked back at James.
  “...I...uhm…” words didn’t form. She hurried and collected her things, tears brimming in her eyes.

Hello Sophia and welcome to HS.net!

Your application is coming along beautifully and Sophia seems like such a lovely girl ^_^   The only thing I wanted to bring up is a question about your plans for her mother.

You might have already noticed that our world experienced a rather jarring event about five in-character years ago that slid the timeline from 1974 back to 1937. Quite a few things changed for all of our characters, but the biggest change was felt by our muggleborn and halfblood children that had ties with a muggle lifestyle or family/friends.

I ask so that you know to plan away any thoughts of her finding her mother, or her father telling her that she lives nearby somewhere because sadly, the muggle world that our characters were used to slipped from their grasp and with it went muggle parents.

I don't need you to alter anything in your biography unless you wish to, but if you could reply here with a comment of acknowledgement that you've read or you already knew about the Time Warp as you planned for Sophia, that would just be lovely. Thanks!
