Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name:

Birthday: 13 February, 1924

Hometown: Litchfield Place, England - Unplottable

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Divination (high Divination levels - 14)

Magical Weakness (pick one): Summoning and Conjuring

Year (pick two): 6th (preferred); 7th

Biography:
She was born under the sign of Aquarius, at ten past midnight, in the house she would grow up in.  Her birth was miraculous, but only in the sense that all babies are miraculous to their overjoyed, expectant parents.  Granted, she was for the Litchfields a little unusual -- their first and only girl, born nine years after her youngest brother -- and most strange was that none of them had predicted her conception.  It was both exciting and confusing for a family whose entire lives were based on divination, but somehow still hadn't seen her coming.

That was, as her parents soon discovered, an apt description of her childhood.  Victoria was not an easy girl to raise, at least initially.  She was at times wild and then suddenly pensive -- then would take off like a shot once more.  It was easy to recognize that she was keen and observant, more intelligent than the average six year old, but they could hardly keep her in one place.  She was constantly fascinated by the colors she could see, crowning everything in a mass-less glow.

Auras, her grandmother explained to her gently one afternoon, and the young Litchfield latched onto the idea with relish.  It was quite quickly too that she began to see other things that most young girls didn't.

Litchfield Place, so deeply rooted in the divining arts, had become a sort of stronghold for spirits of all sorts, and Victoria very much found them intriguing.  As she grew older, she found that she could sense their emotions, tell their stories.  By the time she was thirteen, she had her favorites, whom she called One through Seven.  She loved their purity and simplicity, how their auras were constant and never changed; when she sensed them, they were comforting.

Her parents decided early on that Victoria would thrive most if her education were to be conducted at home.  She was tutored by her grandmother, and occasionally her father, but she was more interested in communing with the spirit world than in paying attention to lessons.  Her magical gifts were almost strictly in Divination, though she was alright when it came to transfiguration.  She loved to manipulate fabrics in particular, and from a young age, she began cutting and sewing and creating eccentric but surprisingly well-made clothes.

After the majority of her education was spent in the company of adults, Victoria was finally informed that she ought to make friends her own age, and enjoy the company of young people.  Victoria herself found the notion somewhat tedious, since she had not thought of herself as a child for years.

Still, there was the prospect of meeting young gentlemen -- eligible bachelors. Heirs, even.  Wealthy?  Not important.  She had enough money on her own.  But there was something quite fashionable about calling oneself the wife of a family head.

Things to look forward to.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Ravenclaw. Smart, savvy, and not at all modest, she does possess the Ravenclaw intelligence, and the wit -- and the ego.

Personality:  Self-centered, but not unkind, Victoria is both blunt and eccentric.  She speaks her mind but knows how to use it as well.  Still, she's oddly generous, even if her generosity means she wants something, and she does like the idea of being the beneficiary of the masses. In the same aspect, her communing with every spirit that comes within feet makes her seem a bit like an airhead, and she'll often talk to thin air, so some might find her very odd.

Appearance: Semi-sweet chocolate skin and dark, expressive eyes make her a rather exotic beauty, but she loves to accent naturally-styled black hair with... interesting hair accessories.  There's also the subject of her uniform.  Expect... modifications, because there is no reason for any young lady to be seen with /pleats/ in their skirt.  And knee socks?  Silk stockings, with House pride t-strap heels, please.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.

She was wearing her uniform in yet another attractive option this afternoon, having carefully given her white blouse shoulder pads and fashioned a pencil skirt from that awful grey woolen thing.  House colors in faux gemstones adorned the collar of the blouse, and her ugly black robes had been transfigured to have a sort of deep silver sheen when she walked.  Dramatic.

The Litchfield girl was now on her way to the library for tea with a spirit she'd come across yesterday (well... she'd have the tea, he'd watch), but quickly found herself set upon by a rather eager reporter.

Oh, Merlin.  Did she have time for this? No, of course not.  But if the girl insisted....

"Well, if it's for the paper...." Victoria sighed, adjusting the enormous sapphire-colored ribbon in her carefully sculpted hair and turning slowly.  "I suppose I ought to contribute."

“What do you think about serving frog legs at lunch? Some say it’s a delicacy, but others think it’s plain gross.”

Victoria blinked.  She sniffed.  She scowled a little.

"Miss Bixby," she began finally with the air of one far wiser than the "little" girl in front of her.  "Are you quite certain this is the sort of story the school paper should be running?  Frog legs themselves are hardly important."

(Though she did think they were positively revolting.  Whichever house elf had deigned them edible for human consumption was addled in more ways than one.)

"I suggest concentrating on the appalling legislation which allows such disgusting foods to be served to students.  Is that all?  I have a date with a rather interesting spirit."

Roleplay Response:

It was only Three who dared venture outside of Litchfield Place with her, which was not surprising since it had been an explorer in its former lifetime.  If it actually had a former lifetime.  Three was fond of lying.

Victoria herself was wearing a pink dress with a pink velvet collar and a yellow belt -- a new outfit she'd paired with blue shoes and a matching hat.  And she did look ever so fetching.

Her trip to Hogsmeade, in fact, was another run to gather supplies for her next outfit, a long purple evening gown she planned to wear to the Eddleston's Halloween ball next month.  A gossamer black cape and silver earrings would make it absolutely divine, and Papa had been so kind as to give her the funds for the earrings.  Papa was a lovely man, wasn't he?

"John, I said wait up!"

She was only on her way past the park now, carrying a few bags on her arms.  Three followed silently, but she could feel its flicker of annoyance at the screeching of small children.

She didn't mind children herself, so long as they didn't touch things when their hands were sticky.

Ah well, it didn't matter, it wasn't as if they were stay--

"You!"

She turned, looked, and found the same shrieking girl staring straight at her.

"...Do you want to play?"

Three flickered again, and Victoria sighed.  "Find someone your own age," she sighed, pretending for all the world that she was far older than only sixteen.  It was practically an adult, obviously.  She didn't play.
