Biography:
The dirt that cakes the bottom of my shoes after a long day of walking through the countryside is the same shade of brown as my most favorite pair of shoes. They’re knock-off mary janes; some brand that was cheap, and arguably poorly made. I’ve had them as long as I could remember, which hasn’t been too long.

The oldest memory I have is of my Grandmother’s funeral. I remember how the rain was icy and cold, and that it whipped my hair against my face. Two faces who’ve been lost to me, assumably my parents, hugged each other and cried through the night. They talked privately, about what I could only imagine being sending me away. My suspicions had been correct, and before I could pack a bag they’d left me on the street.

From there I'd live off my genius sense of reading people and kind deeds. I’d offer to clean barns in exchange for a night’s sleep inside or kill rats for a lukewarm bowl of soup. It was rough – but, like I do time and time again, I kept going.

I began to keep a journal at the beginning of my eighth year. Since then I’ve written nearly 750 entrees. My 721st came from the first happy day in a long while. It was the day I’d met Pam, a little toad with one eye. I’d say the two of us became instant friends, but Pam didn’t attach to me right away. But, after many weeks of patience and kindness, (as well as a ‘supposed’ kidnapping), Pam joined me on the quest for a family, and ultimately, a new life. Thus, a new adventure begins in London.

My great adventure in London was short-lived, as after about five weeks of living on the streets I was scooped up by what I could only imagine being magical police officers. Of course, whether or not they were truly magical police officers I may never know, but before I knew it I was in a place I couldn't identify. It looked like London – maybe just outside of the city – but it certainly felt different.

At the time I wasn't the gayest about being taken away from my humble side-street shack, but looking back I'm quite thankful for the men who took me away. They took me to a children's home that reminded me of something I'd read about in a book from my younger years. Everything seemed normal, nothing out of place, but then I started to notice some... odd behavior. Long story short, I was bewildered and introduced to magic for the first time there.

About a year later, while Pam and I were enjoying tea by the fire, the little bastard toad scurried off, hopped out the window into the back yard. Exploring the outdoors was normal for Pam, usually, I'd pay no worry to her disappearance, but the one time of day she calms herself is tea time. A bit flustered and quite the bit annoyed at my amphibian friend, I stomped into the back yard expecting Pam to be meeting a secret toad lover or something of that sort, but instead, I was greeted to Pam sitting in the grass – with a letter at her feet.

Once I had read the letter, I realized I might need to buy a new pair of Mary Janes – perhaps the real kind, now.

Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.
Pretending to be royalty was much more entertaining than accepting the reality that one isn't really a royal. You can rule over the lilac kingdom and sit on the lily throne whenever you want, and not have to deal with the repercussions of actually running a country. You can wear the long gowns and pretend a weave of flowers is your crown. With your head held high, you can send people away with the flick of the wrist and not be questioned for your actions. The idea of being royalty is addicting.

The only way to bring your head down from the clouds is by tripping into a rose bush. A cold face warmed as thorns scratched every inch of visible skin on the pale girl's body. Slowly sitting up, Lilian examined her sore arms, grimacing at the pools of blood starting to form around the cuts. "Goodness..." she cursed quietly, straining to sit up without injuring herself more. Looking down she spotted the root that tripped her, sending a disapproving glare in its direction. Assuming that was punishment enough for the root, she began to scan the flower patches for a familiar face.

"Pam! Are you out there, my sometimes-slimy friend?" Her words rang out into the peaceful tranquility of the gardens. She hadn't expected a response, and when none came, she simply began peeking through the rows of flowers, trying to get a visual of her companion. After clearing a few hedges to be 'toad free', a glance to her left led her to the edge of a small pond, where Pam was croaking peacefully in the sun. "Well, there you are old girl." The sound of her voice surprised the animal, causing it to jump into the water. Lilian's face softened, as she realized she'd approached on the toad's blind side. "I'm sorry about that, Pam. Next time I'll try to have you see me before I start talking."

Scooping the toad up in her hands, the blonde girl nearly dropped her back into the pond after being startled by what sounded to be like either a loud sneeze or a gunshot. She didn't know what a gunshot sounded like, so she presumed the previous. Either way, the noise drew her into the open, where she spotted an older boy wiping his nose on his robes. Lilian hadn't realized she'd been staring, but at the boy's annoyed voice she shyly looked to the ground.

"Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Her mind racing to come up with a response, she stuttered out a few words. "I-uh, well-um, I'm terribly sorry. I h-heard your...your...– sneeze! I heard your sneeze, and I got c-concerned. I didn't mean to stare. Pardon me."
