Strength and weaknesses (details please):

Beatrix’s greatest strength is her creativity and her magical ability.  The combination of those two things have helped her overcome many obstacles and given her a strong sense of self confidence.  Beatrix's strongest area of magic is conjuring followed by charms.  Oddly even though from a theoretical standpoint summoning is closely related to conjuring  it is an area of magic she doesn't appear to be strong in - probably due to the fact she is very lackadaisical about remembering where things beyond her wand, wheelchair, and broom.  She is very good at summoning those three things, and remembering where any broom cupboard she sees when going places is.

Her greatest weakness is obvious, Beatrix Kelton can’t walk and without a wand, a wheelchair, or a broom she is mostly physically helpless.  Though due to this Beatrix is extremely creative and quick thinking in maneuvering herself about and often has at least two wands on her person.

Physical description:

In most cases the first thing people notice is her awkwardly positioned legs, the wheelchair, or the fact that she is flying on a broom indoors.  On a first glance, except on the quidditch pitch, Beatrix is always visually different from her surroundings.  A difference she’s gotten so used to she doesn’t even react to peoples stares and almost challenges with her confident expression to say something.

Once people look beyond that they will notice her strong arms and her always determined expression.

Personality (nice, rude, funny etc. Paragraph please.):

Beatrix is an extremely stubborn and determined individual who doesn’t give up on things until she gets bored of them.  A stubbornness that often leads to the most curious of attempts to get around physical obstacles and an overconfidence in her own success.  Where it would be logical for her to be scared of heights she has zero fear of them - as seeing as she is already in a wheelchair she figures that luck is now on her side.

Beatrix also has an array of fun and odd life experiences that result in strange stories that no one is ever sure are true.  For reference most the time they are true.

Beatrix is also used to having people look at her and assume she can’t do things.  Which means she naturally has tried to do a lot of things such as dueling and quidditch that one wouldn’t expect of someone in her situation.  She is the type that if you tell her she can’t do something it will make her more determined to succeed at it.

Hopes and dreams. Why are you teaching at Hogwarts?:

Beatrix is always looking for the next adventure and opportunity.  Her school days at Hogwarts were one of her greatest challenges in her life and part of her wants to prove that even Hogwarts can’t hold her back.  So she decided to apply to teach at Hogwarts as she figures with all the magical accidents she’s seen children do and the challenges of the castle it would be fun to do.

Her biggest hope and dream is to find a cure for her leg paralysis.  Part of her hopes that she can find something useful in the Hogwarts library without the judgement that most librarians give her for looking.

Biography (500 words minimum. There is never such a thing as too much.):

Beatrix parents are specialists in rescuing and caring for injured magical creatures. This made her early childhood mix of helping at the rescue, or being somehow strapped onto one of them as they went on a mission to rescue some creature or another. A constant adventure that ended at the age of five when she fell from a tree she was climbing, and ended up paralyzed from the waist down.

Unlike everyone else, after her accident her parents had no issue adapting to their child being paralyzed from the waist down.  When they were working at the rescue they made saddles for multiple different creatures to put her in.  Then when she was old enough to fly her own broom they quickly transitioned from practice brooms to real quidditch brooms.  For visiting stores and other wizarding locations they got her a wheelchair which if it got to tough to push in a wizarding area they’d just levitate about.  Due, to her parents love of magical creatures and near constant uses of magic to accommodate her mobility they didn't frequent muggle areas.

To Beatrix the limitations of her mobility were easy to deal with due to the accommodations and help from her parents.  So her adventures continued with her parents until they deemed it necessary to send her to Hogwarts as a fifth year.

Her time at Hogwarts was the first serious trial of her life.  She no longer had her parents to help her and her own magical abilities were not on their level.  She could make her wheelchair work on the main levels, but the doom of being sorted in Gryffindor in a tower was one of her first challenges.  That challenge was also what drove her to become a highly skilled at the art of conjuring, and select charms capable of being used to enable her movement around the castle.  As the last thing she wanted was to be helpless and require the help of strangers to do basic things.

After Hogwarts she went to work with her parents at the magical creature rescue they had and apprenticing in veterinary medicine under one of the magical creature doctors that was a friend of the family.  After a few years of that it became apparent, that unlike the rest of her family, animals were not her passion. Beatrix was simply not one to remain still and working in veterinary medicine became repetitive fast without the excitement of helping rescue the animals like she did as a child.

The aspect of magic that had interested he most in her school days was conjuring.  As her parents hadn’t had to spend much for her apprenticeship, they were able to send her to a wizarding college to study conjuring and more fundamental theories of magic.  While attending college she remained working for her parents which slowed down her time to completion for her studies in conjuring.

After finishing hers studies she went to take a job in the Ministry of Magic.  During her time in the ministry she bounced around a few jobs before ending up working in the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad for the majority of her tenure.

Working as a Magical Reversal Officer combined her love of adventure with puzzles for her to magically solve to help the victims of magical mishaps.  It surprisingly also ended up using the knowledge she gained studying veterinary medicine as human medicine wasn’t as different from veterinary medicine as she thought.  Though when speaking to the healers at St. Mungo’s she is sure to keep quiet about that and give their first aid courses credit for any injuries she takes care of before arrival.

Like every other job she had eventually working as a Magical Reversal Officer got repetitive so she decided to look for the next adventure by applying to work at Hogwarts.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
(Please respond to to this in third person past tense. Do not write the other characters' reactions. Only your own.)

It was the largest office in Hogwarts and, perhaps to students and newcomers, the most intimidating. The shelves were filled with various odds and ends, with a place of honor for the Sorting Hat, and the walls held all the portraits of past Headmasters and Headmistresses.

In the middle of the room sat a large desk. Everything was in order, for the current occupant had always despised a messy desk. It was the sign of a messy mind, and she had always favored neatness.

A clock sat on the desk, which currently showed the time to be 2:05. The meeting was supposed to begin at 2:00 precisely.

Along with order, Anneka valued punctuality. She was a very busy woman these days. Even during the summer, she had a number of matters to attend to. Interviewing and hiring staff was only of those matters. The newest potential member of her staff wasn't making a good impression.

She paced the room, black heels clicking against the stone floor. When the door finally opened, Anneka turned, her expression reminiscent of a Russian winter. "You are late."

Explain yourself was what her face said.

Roleplay Response:

She forgot how long it took to get anywhere in Hogwarts.  Naturally she’d assumed now, she was a more experienced witch, compared to her school days it would be faster.  Apparently not.

Even if she did get a resounding chorus of complaints in her wake as she attempted to be on time.  At least five portraits seemed to complain when she summoned a gust of wind to propel her wheelchair at high speeds through the hall. Then one house elf object to her use of Glisseo to make the staircases smooth ramps - to which she reversed her spell with a quickly pointed wand behind her.  A ramp that when she noticed the bottom part of the staircase not going to meet her in time she conjured the stones of the staircase to go upward so she could jump over the last staircase and reach a hallway.

With a smile she rolled her wheelchair into Professor Ivanova’s office as even if she didn’t get the job she had great fun riding the roller coaster that was Hogwarts castle.

Responding too cheerfully for the situation she said “ I’m here now. “  The fact she was late couldn’t be changed so she decided not to apologize for it.  Instead she said “ We can skip over the education parts of my qualifications they are more than satisfactory and admittedly boring to save time. “
