Ralph Callista was born in Moscow into the family of a secondary school principal. His father, Fyodor Callista, was a teacher. His mother, Nadheza Adler, was the daughter of a nobleman, Alexander Adler, head of the Topographical Bureau of the Kazan Military District.
Callista's father was the headmaster of Vlamidir Ulyanov at a secondary school for boys in Moscow. Callista graduated with honors from a Tashkent secondary school. The same year he entered St.Petersburg University, where he studied foreign affair in his first year. The next year he switched to Law Department and received a law degree. He was getting married in the same year to the daughter of a Russian general. He worked as a legal counsel to victims of government violence. Later he was jailed on suspicion of belonging to a militant group. Afterwards he gained a reputation for his work as a defence lawyer in a number of political trials. He was elected to the fourth Duma as a member of the Trudoviks, a moderate labour party who were associated with the Socialist Revolutionary Party. He was a briliant orator and skilled parliamentary of the socialist opposition to the regime of the ruling governor. Callista adopted a policy that isolated the right wing conservatives, both democratic and monarchist oriented. His philosophy of "no enemies to the left" greatly empowered the Bolsheviks and gave them free hand, allowing them to take over the military arm of the Petrogard and Moscow Soviet. During the conflict, Callista had distributed arms to the Petrogard workers, and in 3 months most of these armed workers had gone over to the Bolsheviks. Then the Bolsheviks launched the Russian revolution. Callista's government in Petrogard had almost no support in the city. He has only a small force of soldiers consisted of over 100 men. Soon, his small force was overhelmed by the numerically superior pro-Bolshevik forces and defeated. Callista escaped the Bolsheviks and went to Pskov, where he rallied some loyal troops for an attempt to retake the city. His troops managed to capture Tsarskoe but were beaten the next day  at Pulkovo. Callista narrowly escaped and spent the next few weeks in hiding before fleeing the country and eventually arriving in Hogwart. .

Jim hated Mondays.

He had always hated Mondays, really; that cursed beginning of the week, that day where it still should have been the weekend and yet there was work to be done - deadlines to be made - stupid lunch meetings to attend.  Even when ‘lunch meetings’ had been just plain lunch; ‘work’, homework, he had despised the start of classes and - all at once - the next five un-fun days before the weekend started up again.

Now, cloudy October morning, Jim hated Mondays more than ever.

His desk filled with the wide-open arms of the Sunday Prophet, he scribbled furiously over sections with a bright red ink.

All the new graduates with their impeccable NEWTs and superb teacher recommendations had come in last month, only too eager to start preaching the truth - their truth - to the whole of Wizarding Britain.

Jim’s train of thought was bitter, but he smiled wanly, for he had once been one of those recruits themselves.

Most of their dreams should have been been smashed in the first week, from the first time people like Jim had told them to fetch the group some coffee. Day after day, hour after hour, that was what they now said to their youngest colleagues, as their older counterparts had told him years before: At some point everyone has to fetch us our drinks.

Almost every year, the new recruits sat down and took it - and fetched the group some coffee - and maybe it was just the age or the nostalgia, but Jim was fairly certain that they deserved it all.

They did not deserve to publish half-coherent drafts with way too many adverbs and completely unmodulated opinions.

Jim threw down the quill in disgust, ink splattering onto his button-down shirt as though it were blood.

Smartly, he piled up bits of paper, and then, still angry, face marred by an unhappy Monday, deposited the pile in front of his door before reaching out to grab at the first person he saw.

“What happened to this paper?”

Roleplay Response:
What troubled you, Jim? Ralph asked him with smirk in his face and handed Jim a cup of coffee. Ralph started to introduce himself to Jim, he introduced himself as a former politician in Uni Soviet and had fled here to start a new life as columnist and hope that in this place won't end up as his home country.
And Ralph pointed to a sofa in front of the fireplace, and asked Jim "May I have a seat there? And let's get started, shall we?".
As a former powerful man in Soviet, Ralph still kept his charisma and arrogant behavior.
