Biography: (100 words minimum.)
Since George could remember, he had always lived in an orphanage. For a few times his father had come to visit him, but he never seemed to truly care since after George’s fourth birthday, he never saw him again. Years later, when the boy was told his father had passed away, he felt bittersweet – bitter due to realizing he was never going to see neither of his parents again, but sweet since he had never really liked his father.

Both of George’s parents had been wizards from pureblooded lineages, but yet they had chosen to live in the world of muggles, and eventually, left their son in a muggle orphanage. As much as George knew about his parents, his mother had passed away shortly after he had been born, and his father had been a degenerate who had found it better to put his only child away into an orphanage once it had become his sole responsibility to raise the boy.

George’s childhood was difficult due to growing up in an environment dominated by muggles – he realized early on that he wasn’t quite like his fellow orphans. Amongst the other traumatized children, surviving was difficult and he hated every day he had to spend there. Once George’s magical abilities began to surface, he started running into problems with the other orphans and soon had to be transferred to another orphanage due to ‘unexplained accidents’ occurring whenever he was nearby. Luckily, he happened to be found by a wizard who recognized his magical properties and made sure he was finally sent to an orphanage meant for such children. Finally, George was amongst his own in the Hogsmeade's Children's Home.

Of course, things there didn’t go exactly well either. As George had been a big fish in a small pond back amongst the muggles, here with children no different than him he was a rather small fish in an average pond. Intimidating his peers with basic magic produced no results and the only way he could keep up with his magically more advanced fellow orphans was to learn dirty tricks from the dark arts.

The boy’s time at school was as unfruitful as it was uneventful and gave him no more joy than staying at the orphanage with muggles had. Throughout the years at Hogwarts, he was an average student – good enough to have a good image, but not good or poor enough to stand out and arouse suspicion. After all, there was not much he enjoyed about Hogwarts – it was riddled with half-blooded filth and intolerable muggles. George despised being forced to attend the same classes with such trash and did his best to avoid being too close to the previously mentioned.

If anything about Hogwarts piqued George’s interest, it had to be the restricted section of the library. The dark arts were what he desired to master. Being able to harness those powers, no mudblood could ever stand in his way. Finally on his seventh year, George pledged to himself to get as much information out of the library as he could, and perhaps one day return as a teacher, once Hogwarts was cleansed of those unworthy to attend it.

Roleplay:
Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
George didn’t often go to parks, but after getting into a quarrel with his roommate at the orphanage, he had decided to go for a walk and wind down. Deep down though, he was planning to come up with a brilliantly nefarious plan to take vengeance upon his filthy roommate. The half-blooded trash he shared a room with had once again touched his personal copy of the Charms textbook and that was something George was unable to tolerate.

He forced his hands deeper into the pockets of his coat, stared blankly in front of himself, his eyes squinted, and advanced slowly down the gravelly path. Punishing his roommate was going to be tricky – he didn’t want to be caught, but it was important the boy would know it had been George who had done it. Otherwise, what would’ve been the point of giving him a warning?

Abruptly, the boy’s train of thought was disrupted and he stopped after hiding a slight wince that the interruption had instigated in him. He peered towards the voice that had accosted him so unexpectedly and clenched his brow, angered at the little girl with a broom who had dared to bother him. George lowered his head and stared back at her, hoping she would understand he wasn’t to be bothered.

“No.”

Hi George, and welcome to the site!

Your application's looking good so far, there's just a couple of things you'll need to edit before we can get you accepted. Firstly, I see that George has an interest in the dark arts. While this interest is totally fine, you mention that:

Quote
the only way he could keep up with his magically more advanced fellow orphans was to learn dirty tricks from the dark arts.

While George is certainly allowed to have an interest in dark magic, if he's acting on this interest and studying the dark arts in greater detail, this would require you to fill out a special request form (as it is a potentially darker storyline). If you don't intend for him to be acting on this interest, there's no need to fill out a special request. Instead, could you edit that sentence to make it a little clearer that he isn't actually studying/experimenting with dark magic?

You also mention that George is interested in the Restricted Section of the library as a natural consequence of this. You don't need to change anything here, but just be aware that if you do intend to write threads where he is in the Restricted Section/learning about the dark arts, you'll need to get admin permission/fill out a special request for this first.

If you're undecided about where you're planning to take this interest in the dark arts, you don't need to fill out a special request form now. You can simply edit the part of your biography quoted above, and choose to submit a special request later if you decide you do want to play out some darker magic. However, approval of special requests is not guaranteed, so if this is an essential part of your character's story, it might be better to submit a request now to avoid potential disappointment in the future. If you do submit a special request, please be aware that application acceptance may be slightly delayed.

Lastly, you've submitted an application for an Elsewhere Child, but at 17 years old, George would actually be considered an Elsewhere Adult. You'll need to fill out the Adult Application instead (you can copy paste information from your initial application). George would still be able to live at the Home until he has completed his education at Hogwarts.

Once you've made the required changes to your application, please repost your entire revised application below, and we'll be more than happy to take another look. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to send myself or another admin a PM. Thanks!
look out! look out!
