Biography: (300 words minimum.)

Birth: 1942.

The summer of ’42 was rather special for a very lovely couple in Birmingham, England. The family was blessed with a baby boy on the 21st of July. The boy was loved by his parents and was named after his father.

Early Childhood: 1942 - 1953

Richard ‘Speedy’ Garrison Jr., was the son of Richard Beethoven Garrison and Isabelle Mary Garrison. He spent his childhood in his birth town of Birmingham in England. Richard’s parents had believed that it would be nice for him to attend a muggle school till the age of 11. The Gunter School had been the perfect institution for his early education and development.

Life at Hogwarts: 1953- - 1959

At the age of 11 Richard got his Hogwarts acceptance letter and proceeded to the school. He was sorted to Hufflepuff by the hat that spoke and made it into the house Quidditch team in the first year itself. At the tryouts Richard had flown like a natural and was taken in as a chaser. Richard was made the seeker next season when the old seeker graduated. Richard had been a very successful seeker and as years pessed he went on to captain the champion Hufflepuff team. In his final year, in the game against Slytherin, Richard caught the snitch record time and was picked by Hamish Mac Farlan the captain of Montrose Magpies (from 1957 - 1968) to play as the seeker for the team.

Richard was an average student and didn’t spend much time on studies. He cleared his O.W.L.s and N.E.W.T.s.  Charms was always his favorite subject. Richard was a trouble magnet and had cost his house points on more than one occasion.

Professional Quidditch Career: 1959 - 1972

Richard’s career in the team was noteworthy. He was the next best seeker the team had ever had after the legendry  Eunice Murray. It is said that Richard Garrison followed up on the application filed by Eunice for faster snitches. In the year 1972 Richard develop trouble with his eyes and he decided to retire from the team at the age of 30. Richard's high speed flying (Being one of the first players to try a Nimbus) lead to him being called "Speedy".

During his career, Richard also played for Scotland in the Quidditch World Cup twice.

Nimbus Broom Company: 1972 – 1973.

Richard left Montrose Magpies to join the Nimbus Broom Company. While at the company he did test flying and helped in the development of the next broom in the 1000 series. Richard grew sick of the corporate environment and decided to leave the company within an year of joining.

Post Nimbus: Current Years:

Richard had decided to move to Hogsmead and open a broom store but he found out that the village already has a great shop called “Quality Quidditch Supplies”. Richard decides to open a flying school instead. Money not being a problem.

Richard had planned to apply as the flying teacher for Hogwarts but he was late and there were doubts about the existence of the position. He does plan to apply next term.

Personality:

Effects of being rich and famous can be clearly seen in Richard. He is careless [not when it comes to flying.]and likes to live freely. Richard is a ladies man, all though he’s never been in a serious relationship. Richard is kind and helpful.

Special Ability Request:
[Not sure where to put this, I hope this isn’t a problem. (Both OOCly and ICly)]

Richard has the ability to know people’s names without asking them. This was the result of a prank his teammates played on him after he caught his first Snitch for Montrose Magpies. The nature of the magic used has still not been revealed to him.(And he probably will never find out) The ability is corresponding to the high Divi. levels.

ROLEPLAY
Reply as your character to the following:

It was impossible for Dianne to stay out of trouble. It wasn't that she was looking for trouble, it's just that trouble always managed to find her. Today she wished she could find something equally familiar but more comforting.

The five-year old girl hugged her puffskein closer to her and brushed her face in its soft fur for comfort. She had named him herself and he was always her special pet. No she was certain she had never gone down this side street before. Her anxiety increased every second as darkness fell as she walked down the road. A loud noise came to her left and she buried her face in her pet's fur completely. The scared girl bolted the opposite way slamming the both of them into the wall of the nearest building. Tottering back a few steps she found a door a few feet to her right and ran to open it. What light there was inside spilled out into the darkness and she spilled into the room.

Once in, she was caught between the impulse to curl her cloak up more tightly around her and loosen her grip on it. She wasn't alone anymore but she was now among strangers instead, which was nearly as terrifying. Her puffskein had recovered from the shock of the wall and now was purring contentedly as the girl hugged it, causing a mildly calming effect on the girl. Gathering her courage, she marched up to the nearest person, pulled on the nearest clothing hem and blurted out in a loud voice:

"I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home."

She paused to draw a breath in her nearly never-ending sentence, "He misses my and his mommy."

To explain the scared girl held up the custard-colored puffskein. Sambundeakin the puffskein, however simply purred as if nothing on earth was wrong in the world.

Roleplay Response:

It was late. Richard had been enjoying his last beer at the bar, talking to a bunch of other ‘late nighters’. Richard felt a someone tug at his robes, he ignored and continued drinking. And again, someone was pulling at his robes determined to rip them apart. Richard turned around and saw – saw nothing. There was no one there. Just as he was about to turn back he heard a squeaky little voice.

"I'm lost and it's dark and I wanted to know where I am but I'm not scared but I am worried that Sambundeakin is scared because he's little and needs something to eat and wants to go home." The voice paused.

Richard tilted his head and shifted his gaze a little lower - his beer still in his hand - and saw a tiny girl in a cloak looking up at him. He blinked trying to clear his head. She had something furry in her hands. Furry, small and custard colored. A careful examination revealed the true identity of the furry creature. It was a puffskein. Sambundeakin the puffskein.

The little girl’s squeaky voice came to life again, "He misses my and his mommy."

The girl lifted the little fur ball as high as she could. He doesn’t look scared at all, Richard thought. If anything he looked like the happiest soul alive on the planet.

Richard assessed his condition, was he too drunk to help the little girl? He slapped his glass on the table and walked around a bit, constantly looking at the girl from the corner of his eyes. He could walk perfectly fine. Richard threw a Galleon on the table next to his half-finished beer and grabbed his coat. “Let’s go Dianne. We need to get Sambundeakin the puffskein home to your mommy don’t we.” He smiled, and opened the door motioning the girl to proceed and he followed her.

SHOPKEEPER QUESTIONS
Answer these questions only if you are applying to be a shopkeeper as well.

Shop name: Speedy’s Flying School [~SFS~].

Shop Description (200 words minimum):

The ‘shop’ is located in the nearest open space that can be found around Hogsmead. The school structure is basically a Quidditch pitch. The pitch has stands on two sides and four towers at the corners of the boundary. A large hall lies between one stand and the adjacent tower. A smaller hut lies next to the larger hall.

The pitch is slightly smaller than the standard Quidditch pitch and the height of the hoops is normally set to be playable using toy brooms. The height may be altered magically for different exercises.

The large hall houses:

    1. The Main Corridor – It has one central path with rooms on both the sides. At the end of the corridor lies a showcase which has various trophies and memorabilia from Richard’s Quidditch playing days. A large notice board is set on the right hand side wall. This displays all the information for the students.

    2. Richard’s Office – The office is rather small and has an oak desk in the center. Towards one side is a small notice board and towards other lies a book shelf filled with books and Richard’s personal daries about Quidditch.

    3. Classroom – The classroom has 20 chairs and desks for the students which face a black board which is set towards the front of the class. The classroom has a model of a Quidditch pitch and player figures that are used to explain different moves and strategies.

    4. The Broom Shed – As one enters the shed they can see broom stands where different brooms are kept. There is a separate stand for toy brooms and normal brooms. The normal broom stands (A mixture of Cleansweeps and Comets) are charmed to prevent younger students and beginners from retrieving the brooms from them them. The toy broom stand can be easily accessed by everyone. A separate enclosure houses two shiny brooms. These are Richard’s and only he can enter the enclosure. The two brooms are The Nimbus 1000 and the Nimbus 1001.

    5. The Ball Room – The ball room is more of a closet that holds five complete sets of balls. It also has some extra Quaffles and in a box one can see a dozen forget – me – not and golf (Muggle sport) balls.

    6. Changing rooms - There are separate rooms and lockers for boys and girls. No one is allowed to enter the main hall without being in proper Quidditch robes and without the protective gear.

The smaller hut outside has tables and chairs and students can hang out here after a game or follow Quidditch matches around the world. The room is filled with posters and banners of different teams.

What purpose will this shop serve other than selling things and being the home of your character? Why would people want to RP there just for fun?

As seen Speedy’s Flying School is a place where children can hangout and experience flying. The pitch is open to use by anyone when a class isn’t present in the field. Hogwarts students may host a league here. [Students from houses other than Hufflepuff may have a chance to enjoy the taste of victory.]

Accepted, and special power approved. (Note that it probably won't work on somebody skilled at occlumency - although then, you *will* know they're good at occlumency, which you might not otherwise).
