Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Leslie didn't have the best start in life. She was born in a small village in France during the aftermath of the Second World War. The first couple of years were spent living in poverty in the small town. After her mother came to some money, she packed what little she had and took herself and her child to England. It wasn't long until she found a job in a pub and began leading the single mother life. Through this, Leslie quickly learned what hard work was about. She rarely saw her mother because of work and found herself looking for new ways to entertain herself. One particular way she passed time was getting lost in books she found on the streets in the neighbourhood she lived in.

At the age of eleven, things for Leslie took an interesting turn. After receiving a letter from a wizarding school, Leslie's mother sat her down and explained some hard truths. Her estranged father was a magical man who could do the extraordinary. However, he was also a horrible man who used her mother and left her the minute he found out she was pregnant. All she could provide was a name. From there, Leslie began her journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where she was sorted into Slytherin house. Leslie was a very social girl, mingling with all sorts of people, no matter which house they belonged to. She was determined to show people that someone's  house wasn't a defining feature, a goal that seemed impossible for the current day and age.

Leslie graduated from Hogwarts in hopes she could pursue the auror career path. Before she decided to apply for her job, she took a trip to France for a year. There were many reasons for this, the main one being a search for her father. Her search was unfruitful and resulted in her coming back to London to work and finally repay her mother for all her years of hard work. It was her turn to provide.

Roleplay:

Option One -
Amelia Nixon was many things, but she was never a pushover reporter that people could just usher away with a busy shuffle past. She was dedicated and eager to cut to the very middle of the current political tensions because she was Amelia Nixon and her articles would most certainly become front page material.

“Sir, please! It’s for the Prophet, how do you feel-“

Another one brushed passed her, the shuffling busy masses making their way through Diagon Alley for the lunchtime rush. This had been the best possible time to get people, but none of them were giving her anything to go with.

Only momentarily discouraged, the short red headed lady took a seat on a nearby bench. Her quill resting in her left hand and her notepad ready in the opposite hand. Amelia pouted, tapping the quill against her leg as she scanned the waves of people for somebody - anybody - who looked like they had something to say.

She had been dreaming of her name in bold print, Amelia Nixon: The Source of Today’s Tomorrow. She had been dreaming of the larger office and the secretaries that would fetch her the morning coffee and fetch her anything she needed. The VIP interviews and the most exclusive press passes. But all Amelia had was a page seventeen piece on the rising number of frogs in London.

Hardened by a day of no success, the reporter stood up and started to trod off down the alley. A loose stone on the cobble path caught her heel, sending the distraught girl toppling down to the ground.

“Merlin’s fog watch, my heel is broken! Help!” she yelled as she tried desperately to recover her shoe frantically in the middle of the Diagon Alley moving crowds.

Roleplay Response:
London air was different to countryside France. There was the smell of ash and soot in the air in most places. Countryside France had freshly baked bread, the quiet bustle of humble life and an abundance of fields that stretched as far as the eye could see. The quiet life was nice but it certainly wasn't for Leslie. She missed the tainted smell of London and was glad to be back. A year had proven that a lot could change and that it did. She still had some time before she started working and wanted to waste some time before she decided to surprise her mother at the pub. From memory, the most exciting place was Diagon Alley. With a casual shrug, the blonde decided to go waste her time there.

Diagon Alley was much busier than she remembered. A quick glance at her wristwatch told her that the lunchtime rush was afoot. All sorts of witches and wizards zipped passed her in a hurry. Notably, an older woman balancing ten cups of tea and a plate of sandwiches hurried passed her. Outside the magical realm, one would be baffled by how she managed to carry so much. Leslie knew a simple levitating charm was at play but couldn't help the smile that crossed her lips as she watched the woman. A cry of help broke her concentration and her eyes scanned the crowd. She caught the sight of a red head scrambling on the floor.

Leslie didn't rush to her aid immediately. Instead, she frowned at the crowd of people who either ignored or pretended not to notice the poor woman on the ground. "London hasn't changed a bit," she muttered to herself under her breath. She pulled the zipper of her leather jacket up to about halfway before she began pushing through the busy crowd.

She stopped in front of the woman and leaned down. It was clear the woman's shoe had caught itself on a rock and sent the poor thing off. She reached down and pulled the shoe out from where it had been wedged. The heel was broken and dangling from the end of the shoe. "Here you are, madam," Leslie said, a noticeable French accent present. She offered the woman her shoe with a small smile and a generous gleam in her deep blue eyes.
