Application for Hogwarts School

→CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Cecilia Aeon
Birthday: September
Hometown: Athlone, larger city in Ireland
Bloodline:
pureblood
Magical Strength (pick one):
Transfiguration
Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination
Year (pick two): first or second
Biography: Cecilia, known to society as simply Cece, didn't understand why everyone regard her as a freak. She'd been at the run-down orphanage for as long as she could remember, unwanted and neglected for 10 years. In her academic classes- for those were the only ones offered at the orphanage-she exceeded each of her classmates, but for some reason, that only made the other kids steer away from her, more, as if it were an abomination of some sort to do well in school. She read the news, at constant search and hope for a new opportunity. But none ever came.

That is, until she received her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. For the first time, Cece felt like she'd been accepted. Somebody wanted her- or at least thought she was special enough to admit her to this wonderful new reality. And it was an enticing experience for her. The past ten years had lead her to believe she was just another nobody, an insignificant clover hiding amongst the taller, more splendid blooms. Yet here was her gateway to a new life. Cece was determined to make the best of it.

Cece was of pure wizard blood, but being raised in a muggle orphanage, her only evidence was of a magicked (insert artifact) her mother had passed on. Cece had a vague understanding of the (artifact)'s magical nature, but she restrained on speaking of it in front of anybody else, for she feared they would only disregard her further.

All Cece knew about her identity was her first name, date of birth, and the fact that she was on the same bloodline as wizards and witches. Even her last name, Aeon, had been created and given by the orphanage's keeper, because Cecilia's mother had given no information but her daughter's name and birthday.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
House Request:Ravenclaw
Personality: a solemn, quiet girl. Makes very little attempt to branch out amongst peers.
Appearance: straight, long hair, a dirty mix of red and brown. Petite figure, abnormally skinny and pale. Sprinklings of freckles. Wide, stunning green eyes and small, ski slope nose

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.

Cece watched the boy bury his face in his arms. A part of her gloated about her house's stunning victory. The other part, though she hated to admit it, felt kind of sorry for the freckled boy nearly reduced to tears before her. She looked on as he stood up, red-faced and angry. Cece didn't judge him. She knew that, one day, it might be her taking the walk of shame after an especially rough Quidditch match, but for now, she would glorify over this new victory.
The boy turned and stomped off into the nearest corridor. With a sudden pang of pity unnatural to her, Cece dashed after him in pursuit. Hearing the hurrying footsteps, the boy turned around and screamed, "WHAT?! Ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture?"
Cece was taken aback. She didn't know why she'd followed him- it had only been pity and the feeling that she needed to apologize that had driven her forward.
"I-I'm sorry! I thought you needed...I don't even know. Never mind. Sorry." Cece mumbled, face turning bright scarlet. As she turned, she could feel the boy's eyes following her out of the corridor.

Hi Cece! Welcome to HS.net : )

Just a few things before we can accept your application:

  • If you could, please expand a bit on her biography? Who are her parents in reality? Why did they leave her?
  • In your RP sample, saying that "she could feel the boys eyes following her out of the corridor" would be considered powerplaying in our universe - you can only control Cece's actions! Please revise your sample to reflect this, and also - if this were a real thread, James would respond to your post and your characters would interact. Having Cece walk down the hall doesn't give him much to go on - if you could, adjust your ending so that she doesn't leave him.

Simply re-post your revised application as a reply to this post and we'll be glad to take another look! Thanks!

She'd been at the run-down orphanage for as long as she could remember, unwanted and neglected for 10 years. Her parents, a French and Irish couple by the surname of Fontaine- although Cece didn't know the following- had been hit by a powerful memory damage spell a month and a half after their daughter's birth, and one of the alterations had made it so they thought their daughter, Cecilia, was a lost baby they had found on the street.

The offender had cast the spell on a fatal accident, but not knowing a cure, approached Cece's parents and explained to them what had happened. During the spell, a piece of paper that had Cece's full name and date of birth had appeared, in a loop around her left ankle. Cecilia's parents didn't believe the caster's story, even with their last name written on the ring of paper- they thought it was the sorcerer's work- and they took Cece to the nearest orphanage, where she lived from then until she went to Hogwarts. Before leaving, however, they left an enchanted fountain pen Cece's mother had along with her, for in case Cecilia really was their daughter.

In her academic classes- for those were the only ones offered at the orphanage-she exceeded each of her classmates, but for some reason, that only made the other kids steer away from her, more, as if it were an abomination of some sort to do well in school. She turned, but imagining the boy's sad eyes on her back, watching her strand him where he was, thought better of it. She spun to face him again. "You're not a loser." She said the words sincerely, trying to make eye contact with him, before she thought about it. After the words were out, she realized they were true. She'd been in the same situation before, only in a different setting.

Thanks for the updates Cecilia!

Could you tell us a bit more about this enchanted fountain pen? What is it enchanted to do? Is it just a sort of quick quotes quill or something along those lines, or does it do something more involved than that?
"It seems most strange that men should fear,
seeing that death, a necessary end,
will come when it will come."
