→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name:Gabriel Klauser

Birthday: 8/15/43

Hometown: Hogsmeade

Bloodline: Pureblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one):Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): First preferred (Though Second otherwise? Not sure if I still have to pick 2 if he's been established as 10.)

Biography: There's not much than can truly be said about the first two years of life. Generally, you won't remember any of it, and your parents will tell you that you just cried and slept a lot, regardless. The same is true of Gabriel Klauser. Not only can he not remember that, he'd probably (outwardly) find it boring to remember.

Not because he tends to find things boring, however. He just has difficulty expressing excitement and enthusiasm, and always has. Perhaps worrying to his parents, he's always been a bit lacking when it comes to conversation. From a young age he's been rather neutral or even ditzy in tone and thought at most times.

However, at age seven that finally changed. While messing around with books, he finally found something he enjoyed discussing-cooking. From then he became utterly enthralled with it. Notably, he never payed any attention to spells that could help with cooking, instead learning how to do it himself. Even if he had a wand, and was of the age to perform magic, he'd likely prefer doing it himself. Eventually, he talked his way into being allowed to help in the kitchen, and moved to the point he's at now, cooking (simple) things on his own. Perhaps it'd be considered extremely odd in most Pure-blood families, but really...Gabriel'd probably be considered extremely odd by most people anyway.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: N/A

Personality: Gabriel is, in a word, indecisive. He seems unable to actually commit to saying something without a 'maybe' or 'I think' most of the time, and often finds himself overthinking things, no matter how silly or out of nowhere the idea. He also seems to be incapable of expressing enthusiasm for most things, remaining neutral, or confused almost full time. Despite this, he's prone to rambling a bit, about anything that he's found himself unsure about. His sense of humor is also questionable, as jokes tend to fly over his head, or, most of the time, he takes them seriously. This trait might make talking to him a chore, at least for the time being. If something has him truly curious, more than any other strange thought going through his head, it might keep him up a while, each thought likely only getting him further away from the actual, far more mundane, answer.

Despite his inability to show enthusiasm, he does have one clear passion. Cooking. Having read several cookbooks front the back, and sometimes being allowed to use the stove without supervision, Gabriel is devoted to one day becoming a chef. While he doesn't have EVERYTHING memorized, Gabriel knows a few dishes by heart, and can make something on the fly, assuming he has access to tools and ingredients...though he can't make anything too complicated, yet.

Besides cooking, there a few things he likes, though still can't really show enthusiasm about. He likes when it rains, there's something calming about the sound, and smell, despite the fact he's more partial to day than to night. His favorite color is pink, though he usually lies and throws out 'blue' off the top of his head...which just leads to a long line of indecisiveness over a lie. He also enjoys playing billiards, when he gets the chance, though it isn't too often he does. He considers himself average at the game itself, mainly because he isn't the best at figuring out where the balls will actually go.

He has quite a few dislikes, though. One of which is Quiddich. While he wouldn't say he hated the sport, he has no real interest in playing, and often finds the games a bit hard to watch, potentially due to his general fear of heights. Which in turn was caused by seeing someone fall off their broom. His least favorite flavor is sour, while his favorite is spicy. His favorite animal are squids, which he refers to as 'majestic' while his least favorite are monkeys.

Appearance: Gabriel is...plain. He has dark brown hair, and brown eyes. He's a bit on the pale side, and his hair is neatly combed, most of the time. The rest of the time is either when he's too caught up thinking about his newest question. He stands at 4'2 and weighs 75 pounds. He doesn't really care too much about his looks. That's not to say he doesn't keep himself clean, he just doesn't really wish anything about himself was different. Because even if it was, he'd probably just still be indifferent. He doesn't really have any noteworthy scars, besides a small burn scar on the palm of his right hand he insisted on keeping, since it came from his first (overall) success at cooking. Though it's  faded a bit anyway, over the years.

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Response:

Gabriel had been watching the display with...confusion, to say the least. Why was this boy ruining the nice flowers? It seemed so cruel...they were nice flowers, and someone probably grew them with a lot of care. Maybe there was an explanation. Maybe the boy knew something about the flowers Gabriel didn't. Perhaps they were cursed! That would make his actions make a bit more sense, Gabriel thought. Though what kind of curse could be placed on flowers of all things? Well. Besides something like attacking whoever got close. That just sounded like a boring curse though, and the boy didn't seem to be getting attacked by them, he supposed.

Well. Maybe he was. The boy had leaned in close to the flowers, maybe a bit too close, since they seemed to finally launch their counter attack. The boy was breathing deeply for a moment, almost making Gabe wonder if some attack had been launched that stopped him from being able to breathe out. Though that idea was quickly thrown out the window, as the boy simply sneezed instead. The most boring outcome possible. Still, Gabe didn't feel disappointed. It meant the boy wasn't going to die, and that was a plus! Of course, the fifth year's reaction after Gabe moved to walk away made him blink. "Sorry...it was a little hard not to watch." Gabe shrugged. "I think you should've been more careful with the flowers if you didn't want anyone watching you...maybe. He offered. Maybe the older boy could walk away from it with advice!

"...even curse flowers don't deserve being trampled...kinda." He mumbled under his breath. Really, it was kind of hard to look at Hugh, knowing he could probably sneeze again any moment now. Gabe found himself taking a careful step back, hopefully outside of Hugh's range.
