Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.
Name: Sophie Louise Ross

Birthday: February 2, 1928

Hometown: London

Bloodline: Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one): Charms

Magical Weakness (pick one): Divination

Year (pick two): 1st! (2nd)

Biography:
"He's not one of us. He's just like them! He looks like them. He talks like them. Honestly why doesn't he just live with them? Good riddance!"

"That's enough young man. Now take your little brother and sister outside and play Quidditch. Nicely. I won't tell you again."

Sophie hurried into the kitchen and latched on to her older brother Noah’s arm.

“Oh, come on, Noah. Give him a break. Let’s just go play.”

She didn’t necessarily disagree with Noah’s assessment of her twin brother’s behavior, just his handling of the situation. She hated Nate & Addie, aka “Them”, just as much as Noah did. Their very presence on this plane of existence meant that nothing would ever be normal for her, and she definitely held it against them…violently when necessary.

Of course, she had no memories of life pre-half-siblings, but she assured herself that it was blissful and carefree. As Daddy’s only daughter, it was only logical that she had been most treasured. Yes, life for Sophie Ross surely would have been one long frolic through a sunlit meadow if that woman hadn’t had the audacity to show up with Nate and steal their father away. If that wasn’t bad enough, she then caused further destruction by producing another daughter and DYING.

Jackson’s fondness for the others was nearly akin to treason, and would be unforgivable to her if it were anyone else. As angry as it made her, he was still Jacks and he was still her twin and she knew what family meant…what real family meant, at least.

That was precisely the cause of her growing anxiety about the impending departure for Hogwarts. Real Rosses were Gryffindors. Noah was somewhat correct in his assessment of Jacks as not “one of us”. She could hope and hope, but every time she saw him huddled up with Nate talking about the properties of dragonfarts (or whatever it was they were so passionate about) there was a distinct sinking feeling in her stomach. He was going to be sorted into Ravenclaw with Nate.

Jackson was going to abandon her for that house full of nerds and then he and Nate could spend aaaall their waking hours reading books about talking animals. He would probably spend so much time reading and studying that he wouldn’t have any time for her. Sure, she would have Noah with her, but Jackson needed her. Who else would protect him from all the bullies that were sure to prey on him? Bullies could probably smell a nerd from across the castle! She would have to toughen him up.

Sophie grabbed Jackson and pulled him along to the yard.

“Come on, Jacks, let’s see how fast I can knock you off your broom.”

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Gryffindor

Personality: Sophie is not the most sensitive person you’ll meet. She is brash and often rude, but she means well most of the time. Her intentions are good, but often more selfish than she realizes or would admit. She generally doesn’t wish harm on anyone, but her habit of doing first and asking questions later can get her into trouble.
Sophie is the quintessential extrovert, with a direct line from her brain to her mouth and not enough filters in between. She loves a crowd, especially if the crowd loves her. She knows how to be a girl, but really prefers the company of boys better. Their straightforwardness is more her style. She is fiercely protective of her twin brother, Jackson, but has much more in common with her older brother, Noah.
She doesn’t shy away from adventure or danger, and will make sure that no one else gets to, either. She loves to be a leader, but is lacking in the organizational skills needed to be successful at it.

Appearance:
Sophie is blonde, with brownish eyes. She is thin and (deceivingly) dainty looking, but closer in height to her older brother than her twin.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
Please reply to one of the Sample Roleplays below.

"WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Of course she’d seen a loser before, but Jackson didn’t usually cry as hard as this kid, even though he lost all the time. Technically Sophie lost a lot too, but it didn’t count as losing if you could still be better than Jackson, no matter how hard Noah pounded you into the turf.

“Whoa there, buddy. I’m not interested in starting a photo gallery of losing quidditch teams. I’m just going to the loo.”

He did look pretty pathetic. She supposed dropping the Quaffle during A FOUL SHOT did make you a pretty special breed of loser, not to mention missing out on the points that would win your house the Quidditch Cup. She wasn’t sure if that would make her cry and yell at random people, but could you blame him?

“Don’t let them get to you like that, you’re just making it even better for them. Keep your chin up and you can knock ‘em all off their brooms next season.”

She gave him what she hoped was a reassuring smile.

“That’s what I’d do, at least.”
