Grace's mother was a pure-blood witch. So, her family was not happy when she decided to marry a muggle. As a result, She got disowned by the family. Her mother chooses to live a muggle life afterward, and her father was a soldier once and had knowledge of very few things about the magical world. When their first daughter came into this world, there were no signs of magic in her. Two years later, Grace was born, and she was also just like the elder one. Grace was five when her mother died. She got crushed by the news, and then somehow, she made her mother's body float in the air so that nobody could touch her. Her father was shocked, and her sister was afraid.

They move to another city after that. Her soldier father was well trained in combat fighting, and he gave all that training to both her daughters. Grace's elder sister was better at it for sure. Sometimes, weird things happened around her, so she decided to have friendships with books rather than with other children. There were many bullies in her school, but nobody could dare speak a word to her because if her sister found out, they would surely pay for that. Grace could share anything with her sister.

Things were perfect in her life until the day came when an owl dropped a letter in their house. Invitation to a magical school was the last thing she could think of. After all, she can't even live alone without her father waking her up in the morning, without her sister's lecture to try to talk to her classmates, without the family dinner where gossip of the whole day happens. But when the two most crucial people in her life told her to go, she couldn't say no.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Sitting in the garden alone was peaceful for her. It is the place where nobody would make fun of her. For others, there are just some green leaves, but she can understand the healing property of brittlebush, the glossiness of hairs by nettles, or how beneficial lavender is to keep insects away. Usually, people don't understand, How much use all these plants or bushes could be.

"Aahh" she shouted as something fell on her lap suddenly. When that thing started to run, she realized it was just a rat. A loud voice of someone's sneeze came from the same direction. In that surprise, she didn't notice in which direction the rat had run. It was not likely for anyone to be in this garden at the time. Soon more sneezed came, each nearer than the last one.

Within a few seconds, somebody came out of the bushes in front of her. The boy was older than her and looked terrible with some leaves on the clothes and a red running nose. They both were gazing at each other before he spoke, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

She leered at the ground below in embarrassment. She was not expecting anyone here, and certainly not someone in this condition, "I'm sorry," she uttered in a little scared voice. She didn't want to sound like this, but words were already out of her mouth.
