How to start roleplaying?

So, I really want to start roleplaying, but most roleplay threads in Elsewhere seem to be between two characters that know each other. There doesn't really seem to be many active open roleplay threads for anyone to join, and the ones I do find, my character doesn't really fit in anywhere. I want to start roleplaying and be a part of this amazing forum, but I really don't know where to start!

Ah that can be a challenge but another option you might try is to start your own open threads.  This might be especially good because you can set the initial mood of the thread, the setting and the location.

We also hang around in chat and have fun talking, coming up with ideas or just relaxing/procrastinating so feel free to jump in an ask questions to see if anyone else is looking for some fun threading opportunities.
