→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name:
Koraline Grace McCormick

Birthday:
31 October 1955

Hometown:
Godric’s Hollow

Bloodline:
Halfblood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two):
First, Second

Biography:
Koraline is the only girl born to Louis and Freya McCormick, with one brother younger than her and two older. She had always found herself closest to her mother because they were outnumbered. She was just like Freya, with the same blonde hair and same eyes. That’s why she removed herself from the home after her mother passed; she moved in with her Aunt Serena and her bajillion kids. She couldn’t stand the way her father looked at her, and she blamed Tristan for what happened.

After spending a year with Serena and her family, Koraline is ready to move on to the next phase of her life; Hogwarts is a symbol of independence for the girl, a chance for her to spread her wings and find herself.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request:
Slytherin (Ravenclaw would be okay, but not Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, please)

Personality:
Koraline has developed a darker outlook on life in the year since her mother has been gone; she takes her camera everywhere with her and photographs exclusively in black and white. (She can find darkness on any beautiful, bright, sunny day.) Most of the time she is quiet and keeps to herself, unless you spark a certain interest of hers. She is not sure what she sees herself doing in the future, but she knows she has time to figure it out. She likes to observe people rather than join them, and she uses that insightfulness to hone her own skills to prove to herself that she can be the best.

Appearance:
Koraline is taller than most her age, with a slim build. She has blonde hair and blue eyes.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet travelled since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Response:

The longer that Koraline spent in the dungeons, the more at home she felt. Sure, it was dark and there were some strange sounds that she couldn’t place down there, but other than that it was a great place for her to sit and think. She loved to take her sketchbook with her and capture the things she saw – or thought she saw – in the shadows only to look at them later and come up with stories about them. Ghosts and monsters didn’t scare her anymore; her worst nightmare had already come true.

Her senses on edge from being in the dungeons, Koraline heard what she thought was footsteps followed by a soft voice. She smirked and quietly tucked her art supplies into her knapsack before standing up. The girl’s voice was shaky, a clear sign that she was uncomfortable in the dungeon.

The girl mentioned Emma Birch and a devious smile crossed Koraline’s face. She knew exactly what to do.

“Yes… this is Emma Birch…” she responded, attempting to make her voice sound spooky enough for the other girl to fall for her trick. If it worked, Kora would have the opportunity to jump out at her and elicit a terrified scream, which would provide her with hours of fun later.
