No.

Not really the purpose of this application, but Daisy is a candy striper at St. Mungo's in her spare time.

Special Phrase:

Biography: (300 words minimum.)
Smiles. Daisy was known for them, almost exclusively.

She had been the fearless sort of child that tumbled out of trees only to bounce right back to her feet, and her smiles were never readily vanquished. As she grew older they grew more pensive at times, perhaps, but throughout the tumult of her adolescence there had been very few things capable of making her cry. One thing in particular she was wise enough to think worth every tear it had ever caused her, and that was her relationship with her classmate, Bruce Havard.

As a child Daisy had had boundless energy and the singular drive to accomplish everything in the world. It was hardly a sensible outlook on life. But it was her determination to succeed at everything she fancied that led to her placement in Slytherin house, and her irrepressible cheerfulness that saved her from finding it a terrifying place to grow up. On the contrary, she thrived, and adored her housemates no matter their quirky ways. She adored everyone who came her way in friendship, though it took her some years to sort out the difference between the feelings she had for them.

And it took years for her fantastic dreams and visions of success to solidify into something tangible that she could explain to people. She loved children, was the eldest of five children, and had spent the majority of her life surrounded by chattering lively young people. It seemed only natural that her mind eventually settled on the prospect of caring for the young witches and wizards that would shape the world she would live in.

Like everything else Daisy set her mind to, her plan steadily progressed as she bulldozed all obstacles in her way and paved the road to a bright future. Personal dramas came and went, but Daisy remained steadfast in her business decisions and her perseverance paid off. Now it would seem she has everything she could ever have wanted, including Bruce's engagement ring adorning her left hand.

There remains, of course, the small matter of a madman who once kidnapped her still being on the loose somewhere, but Daisy is ever the optimist in life.

ROLEPLAY

Roleplay Response:

Daisy laughed, and placed the glass of wine back on the bar, shifting her weight from one foot to the other as she swivelled and peered up at Bruce. "Well, surely you've told her we're not planning to have children right away?" It was imperative he reinforce the message she had been so patiently repeating to his mother, after all.

Rosa was a darling, and Daisy enjoyed spending time with her at the hospital immensely, but she did have one irritating habit and that was reading signs of potential grandchildren into any clue she could derive from Daisy's speech or behaviour or appearance. Daisy had recently made the mistake of staying up far too late one night with Bruce, taking a ride in his car and then talking for hours. Rosa had all too happily taken the girl's weariness the next morning as a harbinger of joyful pitter-patters, and asked whether Daisy might be inclined to go be sick in the loo.

She wasn't very subtle.

It was endearing on one hand, because they were only newly re-engaged, as it were, and Daisy was amused by her future mother-in-law's interest in grandchildren before the wedding details had been decided. But it was also worrying her that this now-amusing behaviour was only going to be more stressful after the wedding actually happened.

She opened her mouth to reiterate the list of why they had sensibly sat down and decided a timeline for such things, when a tug at her sleeve caught her attention. Instantly her worries dissolved and she flew into a crouch in front of the child. "Gracious, Dianne, however did you wander down this far?" The child was one of her charges during the week, and Daisy knew quite well what side of Hogsmeade the girl lived on. She could only assume the girl had been separated from her mother during a shopping excursion. The poor woman must be beside herself with worry.

Daisy took one look at the girl's face and understood the panic lying beneath the tense expression of the brave little soldier, and she gave her a reassuring hug. "How brave of Sambundeakin to come all this way with you. You two must have had quite an adventure. But you're quite right, Dianne, it's getting late and we must never be late to supper." She stood back up and offered the girl her hand, as though the small child were her friend and not a frightened little lost thing.

"I'll be back in a few minutes, sweetie," she smiled at Bruce.

SHOPKEEPER QUESTIONS
Answer these questions only if you are applying to be a shopkeeper as well.

Shop name: Childcare at Rose Cottage.
Shop Description (200 words minimum): Daisy had built a reputation among the professors of Hogwarts and families of Hogsmeade for babysitting. She also served as a camp counselor during the summers. In the months leading up to her graduation, she successfully applied for Ministry grant funding to acquire a small property on the road from Hogsmeade to the camp and renovate it. The resulting structure is a charming cottage that serves as a daycare for children aged 6 months to 11 years.

What purpose will this shop serve other than selling things and being the home of your character? Why would people want to RP there just for fun?
As more and more old chars settle down and have families, we are seeing an increase of children chars below Hogwarts-age who are simply waiting around until 1st year to develop their personalities. The daycare could provide not only a place for those kids to interact, but the parent characters. IC, a lot more women were choosing to go to work rather than be housewives in this time period, and the subject of how children in the wizarding world receive any education before Hogwarts has never really been addressed. Daisy's long-term plan is to expand from simple daycare with an educational slant to building a fully functioning primary school behind the cottage.
