Biography: Aria Rehlm is a Sicilian girl from a family of muggles. She had always been viewed as peculiar when she was growing up, especially when she would predict things and they would come true. People started noticing the "coincidences" that were associated with her quickly and she was ridiculed in the muggle world. She is adopted and does not know her real parents. She has never wanted to know anything about them and secretly loathes them for leaving her. Aria's foster parents have always loved and protected her to the best of their ability but have always known she was not necessarily normal. Although after her Hogwarts letter and her realization of her powers, she has been digging for information about her birth parents but she has not found anything. She's upset with her prediction ability because she has been stressing it so much to remember anything about them but she simply can't. This is one of the reasons she wants to come to Hogwarts so badly, she feels like it will have the connection she needs. She is also excited about not being the strange one. Being the odd one out has shaped her personality into being loyal to whomever will be nice to her but that leaves her naïve and gullible. Upon meeting Aria, she is very shy and quiet but she opens up to whomever will let her. She has always been an over-achiever and works hard to keep her grades up. She's the typical teacher's pet just without the confidence, but she has never actually been a teacher's pet because of the ridicule of the muggle world. Now that she is in a world where she will be accepted she feels like she can open up and be a new confident person.

House Request: Hufflepuff

Personality: As stated before, Aria is rather shy at first but she's working on gaining confidence. She is a very loyal person and is rarely ever harsh. She's slightly moony and has an airy/fragile seem to her. She is very eager to make friends and to learn.

Appearance: Aria has very long brown hair and almost clear blue eyes. Her cheeks and nose are covered in freckles and she is about 4'9. She is a fit build with larger breasts than expected from her height.  There is a silver streak in her hair from a muggle disease called chicken pox that she got as a small child. She is a tan olive color from her Sicilian origins.

Sample Roleplay:
Aria had been in the dungeons search for anything she could touch that would trigger a premonition about her parents. The dungeons terrified her, but she needed to know.

As she was walking she heard footsteps, not the kind that foreshadow secrecy you'd expect to find in this part of the castle, but clumsy, oblivious footsteps. She didn't dare breath loud enough to be heard but continued to carefully tiptoe along. The footsteps got louder as she walked forward and she started to her mumbling. It was hard to make out the words, and she figured the person wasn't actually speaking aloud just alone in their thoughts. As she crept closer, she realized it was a girls voice. The girl sounded about the same age as Aria and Aria pressed on as silently as possible, focusing on the girl. As Aria walked, blinded by the voice, she did not notice a bump I'm the dungeon floor, thus making her trip and fall. The dungeon made this noise terrified and she heard the girl call out for someone but couldn't understand the name. She waited in silence for another call out. Eventually, Aria got up and walked silently to the last place she had heard the voice.

On the way, she pondered how this would go. What would she say? Why was this other girl in the dungeons anyway? Would the girl ask too many questions about why Aria was there? Then Aria found the girl. Her back was to Aria and Aria was frozen and lost as to what on earth to do. After a while of standing there trying to figure it out, she decided to let the girl notice her first. She crept away silently, then stomped back towards the spot and breathed loudly, expecting to see the girl turned around ready to speak, but the girl was gone and Aria was alone and suddenly very scared. She tried to call out for the girl but stopped when she realized she didn't know what to call out. She ran many ways but never found the girl. After getting overly freaked out, Aria decided this was enough of the dungeons for today and she scurried back up to Hufflepuff house.

Hi, Aria, and welcome to the site! Your application is coming along really nicely so far, but before we can accept it, there are just a few things in your application to address.

First of all, on site we use our character's first name and last name for usernames. That being the case, we'll need to have you change your username to your character's name. You can do this by submitting a helpdesk ticket here and asking for the change.

Secondly, you mention a 'prediction ability', which I take to mean something along the lines of Seer abilities. On our site, such abilities would fall into the category of we consider a Special Ability, which would require submitting a Special Request to the administrators. If you feel this ability is absolutely essential to Aria's character, then you'll need to submit a Special Request and wait for it to be processed. For now, though, please edit out all mentions of the prediction ability from her application.

Thirdly, you say that Aria is from Italy, so I'm quite curious as to how she would get to Hogwarts—could you please elaborate on her background? As you don't mention any move to the UK and seem to imply that she was raised in Italy, it's far more likely that she would receive one from the Italian school of magic than one from Hogwarts, which is in a completely different country. Did her family move to the UK at some point, perhaps?

Fourthly, in your RP sample, you say that Aria is in Hufflepuff. While your preferences for a House will certainly be taken into consideration by the administrators, there is no guarantee that your character will be placed there, so I have to ask that you edit this out.

In your RP sample you also have Aria leave the scene. If this were a real role-play, that would make for an abrupt ending and not give your partner, Evangeline, much to reply to, so if you could just edit the role-play sample so that Aria stays around and interacts with Evangeline, that’d be super!

Lastly, you say that Aria was adopted by Muggles, so there’s just one thing I want to make sure you know. On HS-net there was a major site plot called the Time Warp, which effectively threw Wizarding Britain back into the 30's and caused all wizards' Muggle relatives to disappear. If Aria, being 11-12, was adopted any earlier than about 1-2 years old, her Muggle adopted family would’ve disappeared—so she would've had to be adopted at around 1-2 in order for your story to remain intact. This is just something to keep in mind, of course.
