Biography:
Jacob Christopher Scarborough was born on October 17th, 1955 to one Vincent Scarborough and Alyssa Wolfram-Scarborough. It had been a rather easy delivery, but not one without some minor complications. Jacob had been diagnosed with a heart defect which they had been lucky enough to fix, but the doctors had wanted to see how his body would accept his new heart. They were hopeful, however, nothing was ever a guarantee even with the best Healing Magic at the time.

In his youth, Jacob had never been one to sit idle. He always had too much energy, but had been rather limited with what he was allowed to do because of his condition. One year, after his seventh birthday party, the boy's heart had finally had too much strain on it and he had to be hospitalized after collapsing while playing with friends. His parents (His father and his step-mother, the latter whom he disliked) were told he needed another operation.

The times spent in St. Mungo's after the procedure were some of the worst Jacob had ever experienced, since he had been forbidden to do too much while he healed instead of only being fairly limited. That was practically torture for the boy who had too much energy, since all he was allowed to do now was stay idle. They had given him books and other things to do, however, the boy had never seemed to be too pleased by any of it. He picked them up on occasion, but it took him months to even regain an interest in anything.

The following years in Jacob's life had taken a turn for the better. His new heart was stronger than ever and his body was reacted rather well to after the latest procedure. The best new he got, however, was the news that he would even be able to even play sports eventually. He would still need regular check-up for the next few years as his body continued to grow, but he would put up with them if he could at least be active.

Before having been accepted to Hogwarts, Jacob's first instance of magic was a hiccup that took place when he had been playing football in his neighborhood's park. The ball, as he kicked it, had caught on fire as he kicked it for a goal. This had been a Muggle park, since that was where he was living with his Father and Step-Mother at the time, and they had all been rather surprised. They had moved soon after that, even though the incident had been handled, since soon after that Jacob had received his letter to attend Hogwart's School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Personality:
Jacob is hard to read at times since his outer most personality typically flops depending on his mood and present company. On most occasions, the teenager can seem to be rather sly or mischievous, but not in a way that a child is when they are younger and seeking to play tricks on others.

At other times, Jacob can actually be fairly sociable even if it is just a front for him to try and get what he wants. He has a perchance to being antagonistic, however it is rarely ever seen due to the fronts he keeps up. It typically only shined though when he wants it to or when he is in a rather bad mood. He also, on equally rare occasion, has the capacity to be genuinely nice to another human being without expecting anything in return.

Unlike some other Purebloods, Jacob has no real interest in such things as Blood Pride and he can usually be found scowling at any displays that include such behavior. However, like most Purebloods, the boy is also rather prideful and when the offer of help arises from others, he is usually too hardheadedly stubborn to accept it. Even if he ends up failing miserably at whatever the task is, since he has a strong dislike as being seen as helpless or weak.

This could mostly be due to all the time spent in the hospital when he was younger. Which then stems another dislike of his for of Hospitals or anything related to them. This is fairly reasonable considering his history with them, but he still forces himself to enter them when it comes to his regular check-ups.

Appearance:
Jacob is tall, but neither lanky nor lumbering. Standing at five-foot-eleven, the teenager has a fairly athletic build since he figures that one should take care of themselves even if almost everything can be handled with magic. After all, magic can't help you when you are out on the Quidditch Pitch. Or while playing Quodpot, even if it was more of a minor sport in England.

Jacob has a mop of blonde hair that normally seems disheveled, but he usually styles it to look that way or makes it look nicer on days he could be bothered to apply anything to it. His eyes are a deep blue, which he seems to have gotten from his mother, or so he is told since he has only really seen her in the occasional coloured photographs.

Other distinguishing features include a faded scar on his chest from what he claims to be a fencing accident, which is actually from a procedure he had done for his heart. Jacob also has a cross tattoo on his upper chest and various other healed scars from the time he played Quidditch in the years after the successful surgery and his recovery.

SAMPLE ROLEPLAY
Option I:

Blimey, the Great Hall was packed. It seemed like everywhere a guy looked there was some clown waving around a House banner or yelling about the game.

'Can you believe it?' 'No way!' 'This must be the biggest upset in Hogwarts Quidditch history...'

Stupid Quidditch.

James flopped into an empty seat at the end of the table, shoved an empty plate out of the way, and let his head sink onto his crossed arms, squishing his freckled nose down flat against the tabletop. He wasn't sure why he'd even bothered to come here, since he definitely wasn't hungry. He'd probably never eat again, in fact. He didn't deserve to eat. He hadn't stopped in the locker room to change out of his muddy, sweaty uniform after the game either, because he was pretty sure he probably didn't deserve to be clean too; and anyway he couldn't stand to see the looks on his team mates' faces after he blew their chance at winning one of the biggest games they had ever played.

Just one lousy shot. That's all it would have taken. If he could have just got that one stupid foul shot to go through that one stupid hoop, they could have won and he wouldn't have been the biggest blockhead in the entire school.

As if to prove the point, half the people at the next table suddenly broke into a loud victory chant. James pressed his face further into his arms to hide the bright red blotches he could feel creeping up his cheeks. That was it. He was just going to have to run away and move to Nova Scotia. He'd just cost the three-year-in-a-row Champions the Quidditch Cup! How do you ever live that one down for crying out loud? He was only a second year and he was going to spend the rest of his life as 'that dumb cry-baby kid who dropped the Quaffle!'

It felt like every set of eyes in the room was boring into him, and James couldn't stand it anymore. He jerked himself back up from the table and stomped right back out of the Hall the same way he had come in. As he stormed into the quieter hallway outside, he could hear footsteps somewhere behind him. James rounded on the sound and began to shout, his brown eyes shining with tears. "WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Sample Roleplay Response:
Today was one of those days where Jacob's mood had been increasingly sour. Thanks to one of his regular check-ups at St. Mungo's, the teenager had missed the chance to play in today's game. Which, he had learned upon arriving back at Hogwart's, his House had won. The Championship game and he had missed it! Out of habit, a hand reached up to touch the spot where his chest was and the boy grimaced. Talk about bad luck.

As Jacob stalked through the castle towards the Great Hall, he found himself grinding his teeth together. His father had called it a bad habit to keep, but he just couldn't break it when he was upset. He needed a way to vent, but punching something wasn't going to help. Everything around him was made of stone and if he punched anything, the teen would probably just end up back in the infirmary.

No thanks.

Right about the time he turned into the hallway the lead to where the celebrations were being held, (It was still his House, right? He'd still be able to join in on crowing out their victory even if he hadn't been in the game.) another boy appeared. Turned. Shouted. "WHAT! Haven't you ever seen a loser before? Why don't you just take a picture!"

Hello prey. Smirking inwardly, Jacob gave a halfhearted shrug. "I would," he drawled slowly, "but I seem to be lacking a camera. I can go get one if you want, but that would be to time consuming for both of us. After all," he paused to eye the colours the other boy was wearing, "I have a celebration to attend. Another time. Maybe." Jacob would let someone from Spellbound handle it if they wanted, but the older boy doubted that they would want to listen to some sob story when they could listen to the winning House's story instead.

Oh well, at least he was feeling slightly better now as he pushed past the boy and strolled into the Great Hall.

One quick note Jacob, I think your math is a bit off for the birth year. I'm thinking for an incoming 6th year it should be 57 or 58, but we can tweak that once you're sorted.

Ahhhh. Yeah, Birchie. I had caught that after posting, but I had forgotten to add an additional post to amend the fact. Thanks for mentioning it again. ^^
