 Feburary 16, 1957 | Rowan Blanchard| Hufflepuff | Friendly | Daddy's Girl
OPEN

Delilah is the youngest child of Phillip and Ellen Spellbody and is just as mischievous as her older brother, Jasper Spellbody. She loves a good prank, but only when it is in good fun. She loves sweets and loves making friends. Her favorite pastime besides pulling pranks is baking with her father whom she adores. Her and Jasper are on good terms mostly, but she is always trying to get a prank pulled on him. She hasn't surprised him yet, but soon maybe. Delilah is also the new cousin to Cordelia Von Stein due to the marriage of thier aunts to each other this past summer. Deliliah thinks it is great as it is another kid her age she can get to know, but Jasper is not so sure about the kind of attention the coupling may bring. Regardless young Delilah is more focused on preparing for all the new friends she will have when she starts at Hogwarts! Back in New York she and her brother had private tutors and there where no kids her age in the apartments. She can't wait to get to know other kids her age, and with her new cousin there she was sure to meet the right ones!

Application for Hogwarts School

→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name: Cordelia Isobel Von Stein

Birthday: April 6th 1957

Hometown: Bristol

Bloodline: Halfblood
Muggleborn / Halfblood / Pureblood / Unknown

Magical Strength (pick one): Transfiguration
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Magical Weakness (pick one): Divination
Divination / Transfiguration / Charms / Conjuring & Summoning

Year (pick two): first or second

Biography: Cordelia's past seemed full of mysery. Her Parents died long before she was able to remember them and her Aunt Agitha was the closest thing to a parent she has had. Her aunt while attentive was never the most loving, but Cordelia never did want much for anything. Her aunt supplied all except maybe affection. The one thing her aunt did impress on young Cordelia is that she was a Von Stein, and that was very important for some reason. The reason was never given, but it was implied. She also had overheard her aunt discuss her disgust for Cordlia's birth mother. "Never understood why Albert would marry a muggle..." she would say. Cordelia never understood what that word was or what it meant, but from her aunt's tone even though the word sounded silly it certainly wasn't.

As the years passed Cordelia was left to her own devices many a time and found solace in the books in her aunt's library. She found the books made her happy and loved to read. She would read anything she could get her hands on. Books were like the family and friends she didn't have in her real life. Se dived into stories of knights and wizards and fantasy. It fascinated her and she longed for adventure in her real life. Little did she know that soon just 3 years later after she had turned 11 she would find out the fantasy was maybe not so fantastical.

Cordelia's aunt was pleasantly surprised to learn that her niece was indeed magical. The muggle blood had not made the young girl into a squib like her. When the letter from Hogwarts came Cordelia was shocked by the change in her aunt. She seemed suddenly warm and caring and she seemed relieved "You can do magic!" Agitha said to the young girl. "I was so worried you'd be like me, and all the other Von Stein women. We are all Squibs..." she trailed off while Cordelia gave her a strange look. "Von Stein women are what? Squids?" she said looking at her hands and imagining suckers growing there. "No dear girl, Squibs." She said emphasizing the B,  "Witches that can't use magic. Who would think muggle blood might fix that she said trailing off" Cordelia looked at her aunt her confusion turning to intrigue "What's a muggle?" she said curiously What could the word her aunt had used as what seemed to be an insult to her birth mother actually mean? "It means a non-magical person", Agitha said nonchalantly. "Anyway, we have to get you ready for Hogwarts!"

The rest of the summer her Aunt regaled her with stories of the magical school and Cordelia grew more and more excited. What all she could learn and what adventures awaited her? She isn't sure, but with her favorite books in hand and any friends she can make along the way, she will face them head-on!

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Ravenclaw

Personality: Friendly, Bookish, but with a drive for adventure. A bit naive when it comes to blood status and its meaning. She sees each new person as a potential friend. She has a deep respect for books and anyone who doesn't show said respect is immediately on her radar as a shady person.

Appearance: As Cordilia would say she has plain brown hair with dull brown eyes. She really wishes she had something different like sapphire blue or emerald green, but they are what they are.

→ SAMPLE ROLEPLAY.
You come across one of these posts on the site. Please select one & reply as your character. Remember, you can only roleplay your own character's actions, not Evangeline's or Hugh's.

Option I:

The dungeons. A place eleven-year-old Evangeline had not yet traveled to since her arrival at Hogwarts.

A place she really was just fine with not knowing; but it was too late. The dare had been accepted, even if it had been done in fear of being kicked out of Gryffindor, like the older girls had said she would because Gryffindors were supposed to be brave.

The air changed instantly when she hit the main corridor of the dungeons. The dampness was almost too much for her and she instinctively took a deep breath to avoid the sensation of being suffocated. There was also a sour burning smell which Evangeline assumed was from many, many Potions lessons.

Further and further she walked, her steps so slow and gentle they made no noise against the stone walls and floor. The feeling that she wasn't alone crept up her spine and raised the tiny hair on the back of her neck. Shivering, Evangeline wrapped her arms around herself. Suddenly, she missed the warmth and comfort of the Gryffindor common room. The fire was always going and it made her feel at ease.

Why had she let those girls talk her into this? She was only eleven, she didn't have to be brave. Surely the Headmistress would not kick her out of Hogwarts for not being brave.

If only she had these thoughts while being dared to search for the ghost of one Emma Birch, whom supposedly haunted the dungeons. It was not, Evangeline had learned, the place where the sixteen-year-old girl's life had ended but as she had been from the house with a snake as its mascot, it was the place her spirit had returned to. That common room was down here somewhere, she'd been told.

Something - the small blonde girl wasn't quite sure what - but something made her stop in her tracks suddenly. There was a low, dull thumping noise. Or maybe that was her heart beating so loudly she thought it was coming from outside her body.

"H-h-hello?" Her voice was barely above a whisper.

Remembering that she was supposed to be brave, Evangeline tried again.

"Hello! Is Emma Birch here?"

The sound of her own words bouncing back at her off the walls made her jump.

Roleplay Response:

She had done it again, got lost in a book only to actually get lost! Cordelia sighed to herself she wasn't sure exactly where she was in the castle this time, but it was dark and a bit spooky. Kind of like an Edgar Allan Poe setting, dark and spooky with a bit of mystery in the air. She closed her book, and the sound echoed, making Cordelia jump a little as she laughed at herself.

Suddenly she heard footsteps and was that a voice, a whisper? Then again the voice was louder this time and it had asked about someone called Emma Birch.  Cordelia's eyes grew wide. as she dug around for her wand so she could see who or what was around her. She found her voice a bit shaky at first. "Lumos." she said igniting her wand. "No Emma's here," she said in an attempt to be light-hearted as her heart rate quickened. Why did that name sound familiar to her? "Just a silly little Cordelia..." she said with the most unconvincing chuckle.

Godric Park.

Overhead, the sky was a crisp blue, for once clear of the ever-pervasive spongy clouds and rain. The sun was a lemony-yellow presence, high in the Eastern sky, and in front of it zipped three broomsticks in a straight line, or something very like one. One... two..... three... the boys passed, their shouts of excitement echoing as they chased the snitch, a tiny shimmer reflecting the sunlight.

Far below was another, much smaller broomstick.

It trugged along the ground, hugging close to it like a sluggish choo choo train and occasionally shuttering in protest. This was because said stick was currently being occupied by a very small girl who was tugging upward on the front of it with all her might, trying to coax it into doing what it had been expressly designed NOT to do.

"John, I said wait up!" The tiny girl squealed, giving the broomstick another tug.

Begrudgingly, it drifted upward a foot, and then sank, depositing the troublesome girl safely on the ground. Janey Hurst was not pleased. In a huff, she hopped off the toy safety broom, grabbing it firmly and thrusting it handle first into the turf.

Her brother was such a beast. He NEVER let her play! She folded her arms, seething blue eyes fixing on another figure nearby.  "You!" She barked, much more sharply than she meant to.

"...Do you want to play?"

Roleplay Response:
Magic was real?... Cordelia still couldn't seem to get her head around it, but once she had started to show signs of magic ability, much to her aunt's excitement, it had all come out. Her father had been a wizard, a particuarly good one from a family who had seemed to be full of cursed witches with the unfortunate inability to use magic. Apparently they were called squibs.

Cordelia didn't think the name too kind, but did think it sounded a bit silly for something her aunt conveyed such seriousness behind. Since learning that Cordelia seemed to be the first witch in years to be able to use magic she was already feeling pressure to prove herself. She had started right away turning to her old friends in the library, books. She had absorbed all the information about the magical world she could and it had lead her here, a place called Goddric Park where she could see other young witches and wizards at play.

Cordelia noticed some young boys flying on brooms and became entranced. She stared in awe at the boys flying on thier brooms she wondered if she ever might be able to do such a thing. She was shaken from here wonderings by the rather sharp voice of a young girl beckoning to her to play. She looked at the girl with a smile, "Who me? Why yes I'd love to. My name is Cordelia, but you can call me Cordi if you want!" she began, "What did you want to play?"
