Biography:
Selena Winter was born in Dublin, Ireland. She was the oldest of her 10 siblings, (7 boys, and 4 girls, including her.) Her mother died in an accident, which Selena's father refuses to elaborate on, and Selena does not remember. Her father is almost never home because he is almost always in the mines. Her father was trained in divination, but he can make more money doing physical (muggle) labor in Dublin. When she was five, she started having dreams. Dreams of massacres, bad things that happened. She told her father one night, and he told her they were real things. And she had to keep quiet. Selena spent most of her life looking after her siblings, they never seemed to have the dreams she had. Her father taught her words to say, and drinks to brew that would banish the visions.
When she was 11, she bought herself a computer, and started researching. She was curious, and her father never would tell her exactly what she wanted to know. She fell in love with the internet. She found out she was a witch, a derogatory word for muggles, but a very special talent. She researched and found her Dad online, on a site created by a wizard listed as "One of the greatest pupils of Hogwarts, he disappeared after his 5th year." She found nothing about her Mom. She researched schools, and found Beauxbatons (beautiful wands), and that seemed a perfect fit for her. She knew her dad would never let her go, so she ran away. She took trains, the tube, and a ferry across to France, stowing away in the Brig of the ship. She hid her head, and stayed out of trouble. Some referred to her as "The Mouse". She passed her exams in first and second year, and was ready to start third year, more confident than ever.

Selena has stopped brewing the potions, and dreams of visions everyday now. Sometimes they scare her, but she has already been scarred. Nothing can make her scream now. She often appears to be gloomy, but is in fact concentrating, hard, on something that matters to her. She loves acting, she can be someone else, pretend she's normal, when up on the stage. Aside from acting, she loves to sketch, but is to shy to show anyone. You can often find Selena under a tree, with her nose in a book, or studying.
Appearance:
Briefly describe your character's appearance (hair color, build, stature, etc.) What effect does it have on their personality? For example, does the shy Ravenclaw girl secretly dye her hair black because she hates her natural blonde? Does the curly-haired Gryffindor use charms to hide his freckles?
She's very skinny, you can see her bones. She has an ultra-high metabolism, but she doesn't know why. She does know, it's not natural. She has wispy white has that goes down to her waist, and she puts it in braids, so it curls. She's very lanky, and tall for her age. Her eyes are indigo, or "royal purple" as she calls it jokingly. SHhe has pale skin, with no freckles or blemishes whatsoever.

The dining hall was a loud, calamitous thing. Students sat scattered through the vast room, speaking various languages, laughing, and simply having a gay old time. A group of students towards the front of the hall sat huddled over a pile of sheet music. Black notes melted on to the off white parchment, splaying out a secret language, only readable to those who carried the gift. Another group sat watching a tall, thin upperclassman parading around her new ballet point shoes in awe. There seemed to be a group in the hall for everyone.

Everyone except Hilary, that is.

Poor Hilary stood soaking in the scene before her with a slight grimace on her face. Before coming to Beauxbatons, she had been overjoyed to begin studying magic, but now as she waded through her third week at the school, she felt lost in a sea of strangers. It wasn't that she was shy, no. Indeed, she even tried to reach out to some students. It was more that everyone seemed to already have their own clique, and Hilary felt so very unwelcome in all of them.

On her plate, she fidgeted with an assortment of vegetables and a delicate pork chop. That was the nice thing about Beauxbatons. Despite the many cold-shouldered students, the food was still incredible.

With a hefty sigh, Hilary strode into the dining hall. As she did, she let her mind wander to what life at the academy might be were she royalty. The students would bow at her feet! And of course she would only ever don the most elegant of robes, decorated in sequins, rhinestones, and laced with frills. All of the girls at the school would fawn over the level of grace she exhibited. Hilary would make wonderful royalty, yes that was certain.

Though, lost in her fantasy, Hilary failed to notice the leather bag lying at the center of the walkway. Failing to notice the bag in her path, naturally caused her to trip, spilling the contents of her plate all over the student sitting just beside the bag.

"Oh! I'm so sorry!"
Selena slowly brushed the food off her powder blue shirt.
"It's okay," she said kindly. "Things like that happen all the time. At least it's not on my skirt, too! Why aren't you playing an instrument, or dancing? I thought all Sixième Années were helping in the performance?"
Selena thought it over and decided she had reacted well. She stared at the girl. She was slightly pretty, but certainly not a model. Selena fidgeted nervously, wondering why the girl wasn't moving away. She hated talking to strangers.

• - Special physical features such as abnormal eye color, and unnatural metabolism, along with special abilities such as visions, need to be approved first by an administrator. All you need to do is fill out a Special Request Form and pm it to the BB Administrator, Darcy Audley. Special request applications take some time for review, so if you want your application approved right away just edit your profile taking out those things mentioned.
• This RPG takes place in an Alternate Universe, and at the moment of our board's timeline it is currently the IC year 1939. Computers and the internet have not been invented, so she is unable to buy or use it. If you would edit these things out of your profile, then we should be good.

Thank you for making the changes to your application. There are still some things that need to be changed and clarified before we can proceed to accepting your application.

I understand that the mentioning of her moving objects unconsciously when she was growing up, was to show that she had magical abilities. That is only allowed when her magical powers are developing. After a certain amount of time, moving objects of her own will, has to be done with a wand in her hand.  If she is moving things on her own without a wand it needs to be approved with a special request form.
