→ CHARACTER INFORMATION.

Name:  Dylan Duckheart

Birthday: June 3,  1948

Hometown: Sligo, Ireland

Bloodline:
Half-blood

Magical Strength (pick one):
Transfiguration

Magical Weakness (pick one):
Divination

Year (pick two):
First (preference), Second

Biography:
Dylan was born in Sligo Ireland to a newlywed couple. His mother was a Squib and his father was a wizard. He grew up in a completely non-magical environment, as his mother was afraid of magic. His father, while a talent wizard, chose to give up a magical lifestyle so he could be with his mother. This caused some tension in the family, leading to Dylan spending a lot of time in his room, and in the abbey where his mother worked.

As Dylan spent all this time alone, he retreated to reading. He loved entering other worlds, and loved emerging into the lives of characters. His favourite genres are fantasy and teen fiction. He also loved learning new information, especally biology and history. His favourite time period was Ireland under the Tudors, the main subject of the abbey’s extensive collection.

When he was ten, he made a best friend. He was hosting a sleep over in the abbey, without permisssion. And Dylan and this boy named Cody wanted to look at the stars from the abbey. It was the only thing that would make the sleepover tolerable, because the floor was so uncomfortable. And suddenly, a small section of the ceiling collapsed, probably because Dylan wanted the sleepover to work so badly. So they stared at the stars, bearing their souls. So they became fast friends. Cody is one of the main things he would miss.

About one year before his letter came, Dylan began to have strange encounters. Every time his parents argued, something would break. His father was thrilled that he was a wizard, and began going enthusiastically to buy him materials, while his mother withdrew dramatically.

Dylan is excited for this next stage of his journey.

→ ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Note: This section is optional, and is up to you to complete.

House Request: Ravenclaw

Personality:
Dylan is bookiish boy, and often went to reading to avoid his problems. Dylan loves to learn, and focuses on all forms of information, but especially biology and history. Dylan know a lot and he knows it, but is wiling to impart all his knowledge to others. He is not confident about his magical abilities.

Dylan loves puzzles and riddles, especally when he can work with others. Especally because he has trouble socially in unscripted environments.

Dylan has a better connection with animals, particularly cats. He was particularly connected with the cat at the abbey that he would often spend time with.

He is averse to conflict and will thus let himself be walked over.

Appearance:
Dylan has shrinking blue eyes, like the ocean. Dylan is very average in his height, which means that he is somewhat confident, and does not get picked on. Dylan has brown messy hair, with blonde streaks from the sun. Dylan spends a lot of time indoors so he is very pale, but had no freckles. His limbs are clumsy but lanky. Dylan’s posture is poor, both from reading and a lack of confidence. His right foot is bigger than his left foot.

Option 2:

That rat of his was in for it now.

The gray little rascal had disappeared from his clutches at breakfast. Again.

Before Hugh even knew what was happening, Merlin had shot across the floor, somehow managing to avoid all the feet walking across the hall and had escaped through the open doors.

Which meant that Hugh was now stomping through rows of flowers and other various flora, searching for the small creature. It was like the rat knew Hugh was allergic to most flowers. Merlin always chose to run to the gardens whenever he got away from Hugh. It was as if the rat did not want to have him for an owner.

Hugh had named his pet Merlin because he had hoped the powerful name would give the rat more incentive to be more than a rat. Not that he expected Merlin to change into a wizard or anything, but rats were just so...useless, for the most part. With a name like Merlin, Hugh thought it might give the rat purpose.

The only purpose Merlin seemed to have was getting away from Hugh as often as possible.

As the fifth year trudged into the second row of flowers, not taking much care to avoid trampling the first row, he felt the first sneeze building up pressure in his nose and behind his eyes.

"You blasted rat! Where are you?"

He pulled apart a section of bright red flowers; he didn't know what they were called because he despised flowers, and ducked his head low to peer into the depths of the flowerbed. It was moving closer in proximity to the flowers that finally did it. Hugh took in three great breaths and then let out an almighty sneeze. It was strong enough to disturb some of the dirt on the ground before him.

Groaning, he stood up again and wiped his nose on his sleeve. It was as he was turning his head, his nose running up and down his arm, that movement in his peripheral vision caught his attention. Normally one who preferred to put his best face forward, Hugh was a bit embarrassed to be caught wiping his runny nose on his robes.

Nevertheless, Hugh put on his best haughty voice. albeit a bit thickly with his plugged nose and said, "Can I help you with something? It is not polite to stare."

Reply: Dylan was walking in the gardens. He had needed to leave the Great Hall because it was way too noisy. Didn’t they know that the decibel count was too high? Of course not. All people seemed to know about was magic at this bloody place.

But now he was here with his book. It was a book from the Freddy series. And then he heard a noise, and saw a rat. He said” Hi cutie!” And then he saw an older boy sneeze. He snorted. When the older boy got confrontation and Dylan lost all his confidence, and stammered nonsense.
